Great vegan versions of typical Catanian foods - Edit
Typical sweets you find in Italian bars but in vegan versions. Sweets, salty and ice creams. The owner is vegan but they offer also some non vegan options as they told me are in transition. But they say 90% are vegan options. I tried the typical catanese arancino and cipollina in vegan versions. Also ice creams are great and many typical sweets. Highly recommended as there are not many vegan options in catania in general.

Great find for vegan Italian/Sicilian desserts. They sell a range of veganised versions of traditional foods such as arancini, tiramasu and cannoli.

I loved the Baba, small sponge cake drowned in some kind of alcohol, and a chocolate cream was also nice. Sadly, as it was out of our way, we did not manage to visit it multiple times, although it would have been nice.

Too bad they're serving meat for lunch and dinner, otherwise this would just be a great vegan bar, it's ideal for breakfast (lots of vegan brioches and pastries) and also many vegan dishes (see picture with menu) for lunch.

So many options - Edit
We went two days in a row and would have gone a third day too but it is closed on Sunday! There are so many vegan options both savoury and sweet and they are all clearly labelled. Yesterday we had two sweet options each and we enjoyed them both and I had a coffee with soy milk. Today we had a savoury pastry each and a sweet each. They were both full of flavour. We noticed they had ice cream too.

We loved everything about it! They have so many options and we went their a couple of times to try a lot of them. Everything was delicious, the service was nice and we even could drink a cappuccino with almond milk. Unfortunately we can’t give five stars since the system automatically switches to four. But it is definitely worth five!

Delicious authentic Sicilian treats - Edit
This place was great and really friendly. They stuck to the Sicilian flavors and kept loading up our table with food. Delicious pistachio granita, cannoli, arancini, pizza, almond granita, and other treats. Wish we could stay long enough for the secondi options but we had to go to second dinner at haiku.

Vegan Cannoli - Edit
Almost all of their sweets are vegan! I was so excited to finally find vegan cannoli! The shell was excellent but the filling was more like pudding rather than a fluffy vegan ricotta so it was a little disappointing. They have a vegan lunch menu that is served from 12-3 pm. We arrived at 8 pm so unfortunately we didn’t get to try any of it. They did have some vegan calzone. The marinara with vegan mozzarella and olive was good. They also have several flavors of vegan gelato. This place is a special treat because of the huge variety of vegan options.

This is a 5 stars place. The system does not allow to give more than 4 stars to non vegetarian shops, but I don't remember any meat at all in here.
Read moreDon't be fooled by the "veg options" label. The vegan options will be the most of what you will find, with a few non vegan versions of things.
The place opened in 1984 and looks really nice with its elegant wooden interiors. It takes me back to when I could walk in a cake shop in Southern Italy in the 80's as a non vegan child. You have a wide selection of sweets that to me felt like I remember "the real thing" - meaning the old non vegan recipes. Also my non vegan friend was impressed. She said she could not tell those were vegan versions from the taste and consistency.
Also the savoury stuff was great and I took two trays to take away. I thought it was inexpensive. If I lived in Catania I would get really fat because of this place. I loved it so much. Even if you have to walk a little to get there, just do yourself a favour and go there hungry. And take your non vegan friends with you without fear.
Pros: Looks elegant and clean. Almost everything vegan,
Cons: It might get you a while to reach it on foot.

They have a lot of option and all taste good. They can make every thing vegan if you ask, you have to wait 1 hour for basic food like arancini, cartocciate, pizzete (if they aren't already made).
