Our food was okay. Not bad. Staff is very disrespectful and give vegans a bad name. Was very disappointed and it looks like reading reviews on here and google maps, that I’m not the only one who had a bad experience. Will never go back.

Based on reviews, I had high expectations for this place but the service tanked my experience here. Took forever to be seated, sat for five minutes without anyone taking my drink order, had to work to flag someone for anything I needed. Never was checked on after my food was arrived. Brought me marinara sauce when I asked for "red sauce" for my breakfast burrito.

It seemed like it was definitely an off day for the staff which is a shame because the breakfast burrito was actually really delicious.

Read moreI have been going here for 10+ yrs. I’m seriously disappointed in the food quality and service experience. We decided to just entirely cut the cord on this one. Not ever eating here again. There are better options out there for vegan food that is worth the money. They used to be THE BEST. We were very loyal to this place. But after trying multiple times and giving them a chance to do better, we gave up.
Done with this place and that sucks because it was a place we loved so much.

So damn good. I got the rueben with Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, and steamed veggies (balance am I right?) for my meal. All delicious. Topped it off with tiramisu and just wow. The best I’ve ever had. Even before I was vegan. 10/10 recommend this place. Enjoy.

There is a good variety of food here. It’s flavorful and filling. My meat eating family really enjoyed the food here. It exceeded their expectations. The Buffalo tigers were a hit. My mom thinks the vegan German sausage is better than real sausage.

My husband and I were in town passing thru SLC. We came here after a long hike and it hit the spot! We were happy to be able to sit outside on the beautiful patio. We got a biscuit and gravy to share (a must). I did the jackfruit tacos (delicious) and he had a burger. He said the burger patty was amazing! The staff is super friendly, too. Highly recommend. We had a lovely lunch here. Started with the buffalo tigers - really tasty buffalo sauce. Then I had the tacos and my girlfriend had the burrito with Mac n cheese side. All of it delicious. Finished with the awesome tiramisu. The patio is really nice - plenty of outside space for COVID times!

Definitely the best food I had here, ended up going again and again! The jackfruit tacos were my fav. I don't normally order the same dish twice when traveling but I did order the tacos again! Also loved the cubano and Jamaican you dream. And OMG, the tiramisu! Absolutely delicious 😋 Lovely outdoor patio. Conveniently next to light rail (and walking distance from the climbing gym).

They serve the entire menu all day, so I chose the vertical tacos for breakfast! The staff was knowledgeable about the entire menu and everything was customizable. I wanted a tea to sip on with breakfast and they hand blended a camomile tea with added ginger. We also got other breakfast platters and not only are the portions huge but so reasonably priced. It felt good to know we could eat off each other’s plates too and everything would be plant based.

Came from out of town and heard amazing reviews about this place, decided to give it a shot. I ordered. Side of Mac and cheeses and buffalo tigers. I was slightly disappointed in the Mac and cheeses but let me tell you the buffalo tigers made of for it. My non vegan partner really enjoyed it as well and that says a lot. I wish they had a location in Arizona it would do really well. Will definitely be making a trip back to Utah just for the buffalo tigers. Best ones on the market right now!

I have really tried to like this place, (I've been several times) its 100% plant based and close by, but I just don't. The staff are friendly and the place itself is fine, but the food is always; just.not.good. Burgers/fries are the lowest hanging vegan fruit, both have been soggy, and really oily, like that brown fried to death oily. I've tried other items, breakfast, lunch, nachos etc. Some items are just kinda weird and unnecessary, the one constant..the food is always cold. I want Vertical Diner to be awesome, I would love a grubby vegan joint that does a few classics really well..for me, it's just not this place.

My burger was very dry. The Jamaica you dream was yummy. The mac n cheese and spicy fries were very yummy and the pancakes were decent pancakes. The service was horrible I had to go to the counter to ask for drink refills, a dessert and the bill. The food was at the table for a few minutes before we were able to get silverware. Also our food sat under the heat lamps for a wile. There are tons of options though and the food was overall tasty. Also we were one of three tables for the three servers working the counter.

My brother and I both got sandwiches that sounded awesome, but were super dry. He said I should give it 3 stars, but that seems harsh to me. The menu is expansive, the sides were tasty, and the prices were very reasonable. Plus, due to the shutdown, we had to get it to go, which is not usually quite the same. I would give it another shot if in town. We had the Cuban sandwich, Rueben, and mac n cheese, chili, and mash potatoes and gravy.

We came for the first time and are disappointed that we didn’t get here sooner. Our waiter was amazing and very knowledgeable. He was responsive to my wife’s dietary needs and allergies and steered her away from all food that would be a problem. The food was amazing and the spicy fries were to die for! The walnut brownie at the end was the perfect ending to a very delicious meal.
