Classic Vegan Diner Vibes ✨ - Edit
Food was really good but not great — it felt like a typical diner experience, just made all vegan. When we went, it was extremely busy, so service took a bit. The onion rings and mozzarella sticks were definitely the highlights — both crispy and flavorful. Overall, a fun spot for comfort food in the Boston area, especially if you’re craving that nostalgic diner feel.

Good, but not quite great - Edit
I would easily give 4.5 stars, but this wasn’t quite 5* by big-city standards. The atmosphere was great with a perfect retro diner vibe. The menu was expansive and reasonably priced, with most of it vegan by default. The mozzarella sticks were good, but just standard (Violife?) cheese with some seasoned panko. The clam chowder was a little bland and needed more mushrooms. The Mac ‘n Stack looked as outrageous as it sounded, and again, was good but lacked that extra ‘something’ to take it to the next level. The Boston cream pie was NOT good, with a thin coconut cream rather than custard and tough cake. Boston was surprisingly lacking in vegan options so I’d probably still recommend a trip to check out this classic, but i wouldn’t go back.

My local friend took me here and it was such a treat to have access to a fully veggie menu. I had the butternut squash soup with toasted pepitas (a special) and blood orange iced tea. 😋

Super Cool :) - Edit
Great location, old school typical american diner style, love it! The menu is huge and it was sooo hard to choose. Actually everything could be made vegan but I kept it simple and ordered one of the already labeled vegan dishes: The banana bread french toast 🍌🍞

So many options here! I enjoy the beyond steak and cheese. Their cosmo is actually really good too! Chicken broccoli alfredo a bit on the bland side sadly!

Finally, a veg diner! - Edit
It’s easy to find veg places that are filled with salads, harder to find a place that will get you some solid, greasy spoon, veg diner food! So delicious. They also have a great patio when the weather is good!

Good old Greasy Spoon Diner - Edit
I don’t miss much about going vegan but I do miss diners. If you’re looking for classic diner style vegan foods Veggie galaxy hits the spot. Very cool diner vibes, complete with large cake display up front and neon lit signage in the window. They do serve eggs & cheese but everything on the menu can be made vegan if you ask. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a classic plant based greasy spoon experience.

Mac ‘n’ Stack and Cubano… wow. - Edit
The diabolical junk foodicians have done it again! A vegan chicken sandwich with a waffle bun made with mac and cheese! Whuuut!
Read moreThe cubano was also stellar. Perfect bun, shredded jackfruit pork and seitan ham. My lord.
They had a French onion soup that was also bonkers and quite complex flavor-wise.
Pros: Mac ‘n’ Stack, Cubano, Great service
Cons: Stomach too small… 😑

Hopping but overhyped! - Edit
The food was honestly not the best I've had, and fine but overrated! My biscuit was very dry, and my food under spiced. VERY kind staff however! Fun to hang out!

It’s a novelty! - Edit
Very unique restaurant that does some super cool things!
Read morePros:
- Any of their baked goods are TO DIE FOR.
- Lovely environment
- Nails the diner theme
- An experience!!
Cons:
- I’ve been here three times now and honestly I just don’t think their actual entrees are super memorable. I tried their clam chowder, their jackfruit bowl, and the chicken waffles. And only the chicken waffles stood out as being good (still not fantastic) the others were meh 🤷
- wish it was all vegan.
To break it down:
4/5 experience
5/5 sweets and baked goods
3/5 food
So highly recommend visiting and trying it out! Get your nostalgic diner food and your favorite baked goods and have a blast.

A long time classic - Edit
This place has been around for so long - it was the first vegetarian diner I’d ever been to. It is still so delicious, and a true Cambridge classic ! Great diner food, rotating cake display, boozy milkshakes , everything is veganizable if not vegan already. Reasonable prices and summer patio!

Amazing Classic Diner Experience for Vegans - Edit
Veggie Galaxy is one of my all-time faves and a must-visit when I’m in the Boston/Cambridge area. Tasty vegetarian (everything can be made vegan) comfort food at a decent price with generous serving sizes. Breakfast all day is a huge draw. Most of the sweet items (French toast, pancakes, waffles, etc.) and all of the desserts are vegan as is. The savory items (sandwiches, platters, egg dishes, etc.) can all be made vegan. VG uses Yo Egg for when the dish calls for sunny-side-up or runny yolk and Just Egg or tofu for others. So much on the menu… but if you still don’t find what you are looking for, they welcome modifications.
Read moreBesides the breakfast-y fare, there are killer sandwiches, burgers, entrees, and apps. Awesome vegan mozzarella sticks and mac and cheese! Fries and nachos that’ll put you into a food coma! The list just goes on and on.
Thinking about beverages? Bottomless coffee (organic), vegan shakes and floats, cocktails and mocktails.
Finally, if you are into diner vibes (high tops, booths, etc.) VG is also a great place to hang out. Servers are super chill, friendly, and flexible. I’ve spent entire afternoons there, drinking coffee refills, slowly making my way through the generous portions of my meal, and catching up on emails while I pass the time before Ubering to the airport. Have gotten nothing but love and recommendations for (delicious) pie from the staff.
I’ll definitely be back!
Pros: Delicious, Generous portions, Chill and welcoming vibe
Cons: Wish it was ALL vegan , Wish it traveled better

A good situation to be in - Edit
I apologize in advance for not knowing our waitresses name but I just want to say that even if the food wasn’t as good as it was, which was diabolically delicious btw, our wonderful waitress made our freaking day. If you’re out there… we loved you and we thank you for dangling the carrot that led us to the funfetti situation answers we were looking for.

Vegan diner food?! - Edit
This is one of my favorite places to go because of the atmosphere and the plethora of food options. I’ve tried nearly all the frappes and loved them, so I appreciate that they have specials once in a while too. The vegan omelettes are my favorite, never had anything like them before. The chik’n & waffles and buffalo Mac and cheese were also great when I tried them. The giant gyro was a bit disappointing in terms of flavor, lacking something, but that wouldn’t deter me from trying anything else from here.
