HIGHLY RECOMMEND! - Edit
My meal was SO satisfying. The burger wasn’t a patty but rather the most delicious sweet sautéed meat in a bun. The ice cream wasn’t very sweet but still delicious, sooo creamy and presented in such a fancy way! This place was definitely nicer than I expected, and they do say they’re a bistro rather than a cafe. Go here!!!

I ordered the soy burger which I believe is the only burger available (?) and it was delicious! However, the portion was pretty small.

Could be Better - Edit
Vegan Bistro Jangara is one of a handful of fully vegan restaurants in Harajuku. They are located on the second floor and require an elevator to access the space.
Read moreMy friends and I met here for dinner and I found the food to be decent at best. We had their Soy Meat Skillet with Rice along with a side of Poutine and one of the desserts. The skillet smelled and tasted good. The poutine fries were thin with caramelized onion and vegan cheese topping over the chips. Both of these were fine but nothing special.
The dessert we got (a raspberry cheesecake) was extremely tiny and a bit underwhelming if I'm being honest. At ¥500, I was hoping for a little more substance. I would skip dessert here and go elsewhere or have a drink instead.
Service here was perplexing. I arrived late but my friends (who are both non-Asian) came in to try and make a reservation, but were denied. When I walked in, they didn't seem to have a problem seating me, but I saw there were a few tables with a 'reservation' label. Throughout the evening, we got some weird vibes from the server who seemed to look to me for orders even though my friends very well can speak Japanese. *shrugs*
I'm grateful for a dedicated vegan spot in Harajuku but it did not blow me away as I had hoped it would.

Beautiful food - Edit
Lunch menu - Wonderful food, all tasted great. Wish the portions were bigger but seemed to be typical for most Japanese restaurants, and lunch time. Slightly more expensive that some other vegan restaurants we've been to in Tokyo, but undeniably gorgeous and well worth the price

What else can be said? They have excellent food! - Edit
I know I'm echoing the sentiments of many reviews that have come before, but this restaurant was great!
Read moreTucked away in Shibuya (I had been around several times during my trip but didn't notice this place), we visited for lunch on the last day of our trip.
Great atmosphere, very relaxed, and the food was top-notch. Ordered a Taiwanese spicy noodle soup, which had fat and away some of the best broth I had in Japan. Flavourful, generous noodles, and cabbage/cherry tomatoes in it, topped with green onion. Paired with the small side salad and dumplings (the same that can be found at Ts Tan Tan), I had a wonderful meal. My partner had some ramen that she loved as well, and so that sets pretty high standards.
Finished off with a caramel nut mousse cake, and I would highly recommend anyone in the area to check this out!
Pros: Lots of variation in meal types, Generous portions and fresh ingredients, Great atmosphere
Cons: Tucked away - hard to find naturally

The atmosphere was nice and clean and the food was so good! We both had different types of ramen and they were both great, the fake meat was quite good too even though I’m not a big fan of fake meat. Staff were very friendly and spoke pretty good English. Menu was in English as well

WOW! - Edit
I am so excited to have found this place. I had the spicy ramen, 3 gyozas and their handmade caramel ice cream. It all costed 2200 YEN. (Tje "spicy ramen" was indeed SPICY, but they filled my glass of water frequently😅🙏
Read moreEverything was fantastic, how ever, the ice cream had pieces of ice wich made it not THE best. But the ice cream was served with olive oil on the side, bicuit and some piece of sugar. Felt very luxurious besides from the ice in the ice cream. I will come back tomorrow and I still give the place 5/5!
Fresh furniture and good relaxed music. They had a quirk wich I love when restaurants or cafés do, everyday they change the location of a toy dinosaur (if remembered correctly) inside of the restaurant😂
Be aware! It was slighly difficult to find the place. It is on the 2nd floor, and there is a discrete elevator and stair case wich will lead you there. You will see their sign on the bottom floor outside of another restaurant!

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Fresh furniture, Even vegan deserts

Genuinely the best ramen ever - Edit
Came here and had the spicy ramen and some gyozas. The ramen is seriously unbelievable- so full of flavour and yes, very spicy. (We like that!) the service was awesome and polite too. I would tell all vegans to go here. I’ve had other vegan ramens since in Tokyo but this is #1 for me and I hope to come back. I was with a meat-eater who was genuinely in love with this ramen too (and I would like to mention that he’s particular about food too!)

I also had a nice apple and cinnamon flavoured beer:)
