Superb lunch spot and so convenient - Edit
Located in the heart of things this is a great venue for a lunch. A tasty menu with wide options including some delicious Asian curries, as well tacos! Great drinks and takeaway noodle pots too. Food is fresh, tasty and well priced. On the second floor - look for the vegan sign in the upper window. Access through the stairwell or lift.

On the pricey side. - Edit
Charging 600¥ for 3 GYOZAS is some crazy work. Food was good, but this is clearly priced for tourists.

Lovely ramen - Edit
Tasty ramen and gyozas here & friendly staff. Not my favourite ramen in Tokyo but still good! Be prepared to queue a little as seemed to be popular!

Great Ramen - Edit
Really great ramen and the staff speaks English well since it’s a pretty touristy area.

Highly recommended! - Edit
A little oasis of calm above the chaos that is Harajuku. Take the elevator to the second floor and it opens out directly into the restaurant. Menu is accessed through a qr code (there’s free wifi) and then friendly staff take your order. Everything came really quick and was delicious, including drinks. A little bit pricey but understandable given the location.

Exquisite ramen - Edit
Best ramen I’ve had in Tokyo - went to lots of places in Tokyo for vegan food from happy cow, but the taste of this ramen (kobonshan) was above and beyond. Friendly waiters and located right in the heart of harajuku. 10/10

Good food, good views - Edit
I have been here a couple times and tried both ramen. I think I like the garlic one best. They serve you quickly and you can have good views of the road from above.

We ate some ramen which was delicious. And a big bonus for all Canadians out there, they offer a small decent vegan poutine!

Good, but pricey - Edit
This was our third time eating here at Jangara, we came in at 4 on a Friday afternoon and ate a couple of mains and a couple of sides, gyoza and karaage.
Read moreThe gyoza was just ok while the karaage was actually top notch, perfect size and consistency with flavour to match. One of the mains were a bit of a letdown for the price, with the sizzle plate coming out looking absolutely spectacular - but being quite small. The flavours were also just ok, nothing to really write home about.
We also got a bowl of the dipping noodles which were pretty damn good!
All in all we would have expected to pay a thousand yen less at most for what we received. Jangara is good in a pinch if you’re hungry in harajuku and can’t make it to dinner, but if you’ve gotta travel for it, it’s an easy miss on your itinerary.

Pretty yummy - Edit
More of a chain restaurant vibe. Good ramen and tasty gyozas. So stoked they exist. Didn’t quite have the personal attention to detail my 5 star ratings in Tokyo have had so far but still enjoyed the meal immensely.

Ramen preferito a tokyo - Edit

Seriously satisfying - Edit
I had the set of the karabon spicy ramen (you can have it less spicy) and gyoza. Highly recommend. It was a little hard to find, Apple Maps sent me to the alley behind but you enter to the left of where the Mos Burger is, opposite the park. There are signs to direct you to the 2nd floor. I will be back to try other things on the menu.

Must go in tokyo, absolutely stunning - Edit
Completely vegan restaurant located in Ginza.
Read moreI went in there with no great expectations whatsoever but what awaited me was one of the best meals I had in japan!
The soy meat Jangara was absolutely amazing and when I finished my meal the only complain I could find was, that there was not more of it!
If you visit Tokyo this is my absolutely must go spot.
And even tho the taste says completely otherwise, the price is really low comparing to the other places in Tokyo I went to!

Amazing vegan place in Harajuku - Edit
This place quickly became one of my favourite places to eat at in Tokyo. The soymeat was still sizzling when it got to our table. The mentaiko was unbelievable. The tonkatsu ramen broth was also peppery and garlicky, much to our liking. Would definitely eat here again!

Went back to Vegan Bistro Janjara and this time I tried everything in the menu. I think that my favourite dishes were the Quesadillas and The Buffalo Chiquen. Delicious.

Below Average - Edit
The gyoza and karaage were nothing special and honestly quite bland. The ramen was also disappointing and lacked depth of flavor.
Read moreYes, the restaurant is fully vegan, which is a positive point. However, apart from meeting the bare minimum, the food simply isn’t worth the price. I spent around 4,000 yen, and for that amount the quality was very underwhelming.
A friend ordered the curry and thought it was okay, but also not worth what it cost.
The place was full when we arrived and we had to wait about 20 minutes, which raised our expectations. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to them at all. In the end, even ready-made options from a konbini offer more flavor and better value.
I wouldn’t come back.

Good ramen - Edit
Their ramen is very good. We had to cut through a line for a cat café to get to the door to the narrow stairway to upstairs. There is also an elevator. Once in, the space is modern and spare. A nice and convenient place for lunch.

It’s Popular for a Reason - Edit
This place is very popular and well known for a reason, their ramen is amazing. I got lucky and popped in right after a rush so I didn't have to wait long but from what I hear from others, in most cases, expect to wait a while. I had a shoyu ramen which was hearty and salty. I really enjoyed the soy meat and aromatic oil.
