Never again!

We received a tasting menu with a wine package as a gift. Arrived at the restaurant and showed our gift card that included champagne and a wine package. After a while, we were presented with our first wine and we then thought that the champagne might come with the dessert and not with the appetizer. But it turned out that they had missed the champagne altogether…. The dishes arrived at irregular intervals and most of the time (!) our waiter noticed that we had received a new dish only afterwards and then brought the intended wine, which sometimes meant that we had finished the dish in question. The waiter was certainly new to the job but could not present the dishes in terms of content and certainly not present the wines to go with them. If a restaurant has the ambition to serve a tasting menu, it must have staff who know what the dishes consist of and how the wines taste. I have to give the Veksthuset restaurant a big fail for our visit that cost 2700 DKK (without us getting the included champagne…)

Great setting. Modern Nordic cuisine.

This is a restaurant in the new Opera Park. It’s a wonderful setting. I went for dinner and had the vegan set menu. If you’re looking for modern Nordic cuisine, this is very good. Was surprised/disappointed there wasn’t a bread course and I thought the vegan option was just a little too light in terms of calorific content. Great service and friendly staff.
