Delicious and friendly staff - Edit
Based on the previous reviews, I went for the vegan duck with peanut sauce. I wasn't disappointed.
Read moreThere were several vegan choices on the menu so if that's not what you're after then there are other options, but the vegan duck was very good, and reasonably-priced (£11.50) for a table service restaurant.
The staff were nice too.

The best mock duck I've ever had - Edit
As suggested by others, I ordered the mock duck and wasn't disappointed!
Read moreThe duck is soft, fatty and melts in the mouth accompanied by a mouth-watering marinade. It was so realistic I had a mini freak-out thinking they had given me the real thing!
We also had the tofu soup which was fantastic - a really clean, warming base with enough veg and chilli to fight off all the winter cold outside!
Spring rolls were really yummy too - the only let down was the veg dumplings which weren't steamed enough and were a little hard.
It's a cosy little place with a great interior and wide selection of drinks. We will definitely head back to try the tofu curry and the summer rolls!

There aren't many vegan options at Urban Orient, but I ordered the mock duck (it comes in sauce with rice) and it was really good! I don't usually eat mock meats so I don't have much to compare it to, but I really enjoyed it and would definitely go back just for that dish!

Gorgeous food and BYO - Edit
This is a lovely - and popular - restaurant. The menu is quite limited but everything is delicious - vegan options include tofu summer rolls, tofu with vermicelli noodles, tofu curry and a mock duck curry. It's also Bring Your Own alcohol with a small charge for corkage. Definitely recommend!
