So delicious! - Edit
Vegan and gluten free items clearly marked on the menu. I had a very large portion of General Tso "Chicken" (tofu) and it was so flavorful! This time I got it to-go, next time I'll enjoy relaxing in this lovely restaurant!

Too much to try, too little time - Edit
Their INTENSE menu is so much fun for someone who loves trying stuff! I have tried quite a few items, my favorites so far are the golden feather knishes and the scallion pancakes.

Yummy Asian food - Edit
Unit Su Vege is an vegetarian Chinese/dim sum restaurant in a little strip mall just north of Rittenhouse Square. My boyfriend and I headed over shortly after checking into our hotel for dinner. We got the BBQ Seitan on a Stick, Fried Tofu with Cashew Nuts (an appetizer), General Tso's Seitan, and Sizzling Tofu. Although it's not all vegan, most items are vegan and clearly marked. The seitan on a stick had an excellent texture, but the sauce was more like a gravy than a BBQ. The nutty cashew tofu was also very good. I had to ask that they not make the sizzling tofu spicy, so if you're a wimp like I am, perhaps find another dish. My boyfriend's General Tso's Seitan was very good, not spicy, but tangy.

Amazing Dim Sum and Dumpling Menu - Edit
Never expected to locate a vegan dim sum and dumplings menu as extensive as this one. Everything vegan I have tried is fantastic.

nice and friendly - Edit
I ordered Chow-Mei fun Singapore Style noodles. It tasted good and it was spicy after I asked to do it spicier. Staff is very friendly and the place very clean. The portion could have been a little bit more. I guess that's why I was hungry.

Absolutely the best dim sum! - Edit
When we became vegan we thought we’d lost dim sum but then we found this place! The dim sum is fantastic, and there are many choices that aren’t too oily if you care about that as we do. The Peking Duck is amazing! No idea how it tastes so much like the real thing.
Read moreThe staff is very polite and helpful and the atmosphere is nice. We had to carry out during the pandemic and sadly the soup dumplings didn’t hold together all the way back to Jersey, but they’re another item we highly recommend and are perfect when you eat in.
Pros: Excellent food, Huge menu including dim sum, Good service

yum! - Edit
Ordered take out from here one night while I was visiting Philly. Everything on the menu sounded so good it was hard to pick out only a few items. I ended up getting the tofu with black bean sauce and the fried vegetable buns. I loved the tofu dish- tofu was cooked perfectly and the sauced veggies with it were great.

Just happened upon this place before the fireworks on July 4th. It was awesome! We had the Moo Shu entree and the curry vegetables. Best curry sauce I’ve had!

Lots of Vegan Options! - Edit
Definitely recommend the seitan general tso’s! I also had a delicious peanut butter banana smoothie. I didn’t like the sweet potato dumplings much but that’s basically it for negatives

The best - Edit
Since the pandemic, I've been eating here every week. They have such a big menu, so it's kind of hard to pick what you'd like. But I love all their appetizers, fried tofu, and broad noodle dishes.

All my friends who visit Philly always ask to go back here - Edit
I live in the neighborhood so I have been to Unit Su Vege PLENTY of times. Any time I have a friend visiting we are sure to stop in, with a bottle of wine of course (yay byob!).
Read moreI will say while I love a good lunch special with soup and a spring roll I think where they really shine is with the dim sum. We always start with a lot and end up tacking on more. My friends from New York are always impressed with how small the bill is :-D
I often forget this place isn't 100% vegan so be sure to check for items marked as such.
Pros: Delicious , Inexpensive , BYOB
Cons: Some of the entrees leave something to be desired

Was visiting some friends in Philly and found this place on Happy Cow. We all enjoyed the food very much. We ordered apps to share, soups, and entrees. The menu is very large and clearly marks what’s vegan. The entrees are big. We all had leftovers and happily ate them the next day.

Many options but not much flavor - Edit
I wanted to love this place but I just don’t. Soo many clearly marked vegan options as well. We ordered a bunch of appetizers/ dim sum. They all tasted store made and I have definitely got better from the asian supermarket (which is probably where they got them as well). Ordered the sesame tofu (the seitan isnt vegan cause they use eggs). The tofu was some of the best consistency I have had- great crispness to it but there was absolutely no flavor to the sauce- just tasted sweet- no balance to it. The servers were not that friendly either. Great atmosphere inside tho.

Plenty of vegan options beautifully prepared. If you want it a little less oily they will accommodate your preference. Soup, spring rolls, your meal and a cookie for $8.50.

Incredible vegan selections, beautiful and tasty, calm atmosphere - Edit
This is a restaurant that really cares about serving delicious food that is beautifully presented. I had three selections from the extensive dim sum menu and had my socks knocked off! The fillings of the watercress and the soup dumplings were very fresh and tasty, and the wrappers were tender and lovely. I probably wouldn’t have ordered the pumpkin tarts had I noticed that it said they were deep-fried, but they were very delicious, and in my defense, I didn’t finish them!

Best Vegan Dim Sum I've had! - Edit
This place is SO GOOD. I wish I'd thought to take some pictures but I was seriously busy wolfing down everything. Their menu is about 90% vegan, I think. Everything is so fresh and flavorful. The ho fun noodle dish has perfectly cooked mushrooms and fantastic vegan ham. Every dumpling I had was amazing. The steamed buns with roast beef in them were so good. My only regret is that I didn't go back for more while I was in the city! Will definitely visit this place again. They've got me hooked on dim sum now!

Awesome; pretty sure Unit Sure is vegan - Edit
Two of us went for dinner in March 2019. We had one entree and 6 dim sum/appetizers for about $50 -which gave us some of everything to take home and made a 3rd meal for my housemate to try.
Read moreEverything was at least "good", with the scallops (dim sum) and the barbecued beef (dim sum) being amazingly good!
The sauteed greens really stuck out as being flavorful in a delicious sauce and I also really liked some kind of mushroom rolls that we had.
Like like New Harmony, there is an extensive menu with tons of imitation meat / poultry / fish. My favorite dish at New Harmony is the jumbo walnut shrimp and Unit Su has a similar "Prawn" dish here, with a thicker batter on the fake shrimp and a different sauce. It's also served with cantaloupe which adds another different flavor to the mix.
Overall, I felt like this was a little less greasy then most vegan Chinese food I've had. For example, the scallion pancakes (a dish I generally avoid but my partner insisted on) are perhaps the best I've ever had because they weren't served as an oily mess.
Within a few days I had returned for a $50 gift certificate for a friend's birthday.
Pros: Fresh ingredients, Huge variety
Cons: Staff/owner is friendly, but a bit stiff

Delicious new restaurant - Edit
My family and I love Su Xing House for vegan Chinese, so we were excited when we saw a new Chinese spot with an almost identical menu (the menu is almost identical but with more dumpling options). We ordered there for take out the first week they opened, and the food was fresh and delicious! My youngest son said he liked it more than Su Xing, and we all agreed it was at least as good, if not better! Highlights were the seitan on a stick and the Gold and Jade entree.
