These are the best bagels in NYC. Unlike a lot of places, where they have one maybe two vegan cream cheeses, Tompkins Square Bagels has several. They are tofu based and so filling and delicious. My favorite is the tofu garlic herb cream cheese. They have one fully vegan sandwich but I feel like there’s one or two others you could modify to be vegan. Service is usually quick and friendly! I got a pumpernickel everything with veggie tofu. It was just OK. Bagel was a bit tough, and tofutti is not my favorite vegan cc. Some places mask the flavor better than others. My guess is people come here for the bagel sandwiches. Decent coffee.

This place has everything you are looking for in a New York bagel jumbo chewy on the inside a little crusty on the outside and a good way with lots of different vegan spreads to choose from including vegan cream cheese is hummus and tons of different toppings. They also offer vegan cookies and they just introduced a brand new vegan sandwich called beyond delight. I think that’s what it’s called. It was delicious. It’s not cheap but it’s definitely worth a trip you get your moneys worth the bagels are stuffed and they’re big and they give you lots of ways to Customize your sandwich based on the toppings, bagel, choice, toasted, or un toasted

The line was out the door to this place, so we figured the bagels were going to be good.. and they were! Loved the cinnamon raisin bagel with plain tofu cheese. My husband went savory and got the sun-dried tomato tofu cheese on everything bagel and it tasted like pizza to me!

Absolutely incredible! This place was on our must visit list when we came to NYC after seeing such good reviews online. The store was huge, with a huge selection of food and drinks, the staff were all so lovely and so friendly, we felt incredibly welcome here. I got the garlic & herb tofu cream cheese and it was incredible! My partner got beyond sausage, and this was delicious too!

I got a cinnamon raisin bagel with plain tofu spread and strawberry preserves, it did not disappoint! There were several other vegan spreads available as well as a beyond meattopping. What I got was really tasty without the tofu aftertaste that some spreads can have. Generous portions also. I recommend ordering ahead as the line was really long.

I'm not a huge bagel fan in general but these were really nice - I like the cream to bagel ratio. They've got 6 vegan flavours - my favourite was sun dried tomato. Staff was super nice, even gave us some freebies. Be careful - they are super filling!

Obviously would do 5 stars if I could. Their scallion cream cheese is unparalleled. The bagels are so soft inside and so crispy outside. The perfect nyc bagel. Many vegan options for cream cheese and also a veggie breakfast sandwich with beyond meat, just get it without egg. Manager is so nice and funny too. Can’t wait to go back.

I was so excited to enjoy a bagel while in NYC. It was a little hesitant about a tofu cream cheese but was pleasantly surprised at the texture and taste. I was not disappointed in the least. They have a variety of bagels and tofu spreads to choose from whether you're looking for savory or sweet. I enjoyed an everything bagel with garlic tofu spread. 😋 I would definitely return.

I got an everything bagel right after it was done cooking, so it was extremely delicious since it was fresh and hot. The bagel itself was crunchy on the outside and very chewy on the inside, the perfect combination! The vegan vegetable tofu cream cheese was also delicious but tasted the same as all the other bagel shops offering this option. I personally think the bagel seasoning’s could’ve used a little bit more salt, but this wasn’t a problem since the shop had salt packets.

This has to be the best bagles I've tried. I ordered 3 of the gluten free bread. One had garlic, one had sun dried tomatoes and one had scallions. The garlic was so good we went out of our way to go back and wait in the long lines just to get a taste 10/10.

They have 6 flavors of tofu spread (vegan cream cheese, basically) and also hummus, avocado, and some Beyond Meat options. I had an onion bagel with veggie tofu spread and it was everything I wanted it to be.

There's not much seating but it's really nice to sit in the nearby park.
