Friendly service questionable food - Edit
I was quite excited to go to this restaurant and I went there to get some lunch and the service was amazing and people who work there are lovely unfortunately the food was spicy and I couldn’t finish the meal. I didn’t expect it to be that spicy and unfortunately it wasn’t stated on the menu that they use chilli powder but anyways for my taste it did t hit the spot, the juice was okay

Usually I would never rank an all vegan restaurante bellow 4 stars, but with this one unfortunately I was disappointed.

The matcha did not taste like ceremonial grade like it was stated on the menu.
There was no ice in it wich is fine but it was not even really cold.
The Glas was chipped and dirty.
We ate a Banane ice and a date ball.
We asked if there are no nuts like walnuts, hazelnuts or cashews in the ice cream. However I had a small allergic reaction, so I assume that it did contain some small amounts.
The date ball was okay.
Atmosphere was really good, staff was nice and a big selection.

We ordered some yummy drink, a mexican bowl and all the three different empanadas. All was great and the portions are absolutely enough. It felt really good to eat some “clear” food in this nice place.

My husband said this was the best vegan food he’s had in Mexico. He had the tiger bowl and I had the Prana bowl with ginger lemonade. It was so fresh, you literally feel your cells rejoicing. We also saw people bringing in jugs of filtered water. Great atmosphere and only a few blocks from the beach if you’re visiting.

My partner and I shared the nachos as well as plantain tacos and jackfruit tacos. The nacho sauces were great but the chips themselves tasted a bit like cardboard (made in house and not fried to be healthier). The plantain tacos were amazing with good flavour and generous guacamole on top. Jackfruit tacos were just fair- jackfruit could have been cooked more, sauce was watery and unbalanced. Overall decent experience. Probably wouldn’t rush back here though.

The location, the outdoor seating is beautiful, the atmosphere and the staff are friendly. The smoothies were amazing, I drank mine in probably 30 seconds I couldnt put it down. The food was good but what we had was not the best in our opinion (chorizo sausage sandwich plantain tacos) The sandwich bread was too big and too crispy it was difficult to bite, it waa very flavourful still, the plantains felt like maybe something was missing, the way the plantains tasted on their own was excellent. Would still highly recommend to check this place out!

I was really looking forward to eating here as the reviews and pics look great. It wasn’t bad but I was expecting far better. I wouldn’t recommend ordering hot coffees here, some of the worst we’ve had and we travel full time all over the world. Staff were amazing and replaced our coffees with coffee frappes for free at no extra charge which were good. The hotcakes were good however some of them were slightly burnt. Smoothie bowl was good but we’ve also had better locally. The banana bread was dry and lacked flavour 😞

Have returned since our first visit and the food and drinks have all been great. Unfortunately attention to detail is lacking with minor errors in our orders but overall it’s a good restaurant.

Read moreWe ate at Tierra Verde almost everyday during our 3 week stay in Playa del Carmen. And yes, our account had to recover quite some time, but we do not regret it.
We ate and drank our way through the entire menu and every dish was fresh and prepared with love. The menu offers something for every taste, really. No matter if sweet, savory or refreshing. You’ll find something at Tierra Verde.
Tierra Verdes Stafff tries to get all supplies from local distributors, from coconuts to sprouts which is an admirable effort.
Beyond this, the atmosphere in the restaurant is peaceful and everybody was so kind and friendly. You can tell that everyone at Tierra Verde puts their heart and soul into it.
Thank you for this culinary experience! If we should ever visit Playa again, Tierra Verde will be our first stop!

A lovely place with healthy and DELICIOUS food! - Edit
I ate here 2 times during my stay in Playa. I ordered the small Pachamama smoothie and with I had gotten the large! I highly recommend it. I also had their quesadillas, omelettes, and toast. Everything was delicious but the quesadillas with the potato cheese was probably my favorite. The atmosphere is refreshing and the workers are super helpful. The place has a nice breezy feel and delicious food!

We went there at 4pm. Menu looked good. However, they were out of too many ingredientsm making it very difficult to construct 2 dinners. We had to walk out. They did not have any juices except orange, no raw warps, no Chickpeas, no beans, no brown rice. Very deficient for a vegan meal.

We had all three kinds of empanadas that they make and all were delicious. My wife had never had an empanada before and she was amazed at how delicious these empanadas were. The one with mushrooms was our favourite. We also had a guacamole appetizer that had fresh carrots, cucumbers and freshly made nachos to dip into the guacamole that was excellent. Our server was a wonderful fellow who made it his mission to make sure we loved everything. And we did. Prices were reasonable. We added beverages and the total bill was less than $40 Canadian. I highly recommend this establishment.

Cute and hippie-ish - Edit
This is a cute, hippie-ish vegan cafe not far from the main drag, which is worth popping over to for breakfast or lunch. It was nice to find tofu and to get a source of protein that wasn’t beans. I don’t usually care about seeking out western food when traveling and prefer to eat the local food as best I can; however, this place was worth breaking with that for because it was adorable and laid-back. I admit it wasn’t the best meal I had in PDC but it’s nice to have the whole menu available to vegans and the food is healthy and tasty.

Honestly when this place opened I was so happy finally a real health focussed organic place with wonderful menu, lovely staff and owner is always so helpful and friendly. People who complain about the wait need to understand good food is not fast food! I hardly eat elsewhere to be honest and bringing my friend this year she agrees. We also love working here as good WiFi. Still working our way through the menu! #Veganuary

Don't come here if u r really hungry. Plan on waiting 30 minutes to get served, often there is 1 waiter,(in a bad mood, very slow), to wait on the whole restaurant. The portions are small, for the price. The potato tacos are tasteless, as is the sweet potato soup,(1/3 filled in a tiny bowl). The hamburger is 12.00 dollars, and u cant even see the patty, its all bread. Food, Mediocre at best. No flavor in the dishes.

Good food is not fast food and shame you had a bad experience as the waiters and waitresses that all work here for a pittance are always so lovely. This is my second year visiting since Tierra Verde opened. Also far location from where? Where I stay in quiet residential area this is actually not as far as most other vegan places.
