I was feeling like crap this morning when I entered Thenga, but after a delicious lunch Dahl and cauliflower with a restorative lemon 🍋 and ginger brew I felt so much better.

Delicious! - Edit
Small menu but tasty and satisfying. Food served in small cafe with canteen style tables. The homemade banana loaf was amazing! Good place for a quick meal in a quiet venue.

Good food and great value - Edit
This cafe near King's Cross & St Pancras stations is a great place for some lunch, especially when changing trains. The food is delicious, portions generous, and the cost very modest. The owner is super friendly, and makes people feel welcome to stay and relax, even when not buying food (but who could resist? We can't).

Had the daily lunch -- absolutely delicious. Decent price, at £5.95. My mum had a gluten free wrap, recommended by the chef, and she loved it.

Hidden gem - Edit
A little vegan place with a sense of community to it, 5 minutes walking distance from Kings Cross station. I had the daily lunch and a roti, very tasty. Prices are pretty good considering the location, but real reason to here is for the friendly atmosphere and the food.

Delicious, simple and affordable Indian canteen - Edit
I've only recently discovered Thenga Cafe and I will definitely go back. They serve a fixed menu of a curry, rice and two sides. When I went I had a lentil dahl, onion bhajis and a cold salad, all delicious. The whole things only cost £5.95. The decor isn't anything special but it is a lovely welcoming space and the staff are very friendly. They also serve homemade cakes and really good fair trade coffee. Recommended for a quick and cheap lunch.

Good value set lunch - an Indian thali which changes daily. My dhal, veg curry, rice, puri and salad was £5.95. All tasty but I particularly enjoyed the puri. They also had a vegan pasty and cakes on the menu when I visited.

Friendly place - Edit
So there are two entrances, one from Cromer St and one from Judd St. The one from Judd st seems to be the more obvious one, since they would put a sign in front of it, inviting costumers in.
Read moreThenga Cafe provides a vegan set lunch, some wrap, some pastries (most of range is vegan), a section of bars and so on and tea, coffee, soft drinks of cause.
The food isn't extraordinary, yet good and reasonably priced. Although the premise reminds me of some school or hostel canteen, they put some nice decoration here and there. There is a lot of room, that's great.
Staff is knowledable and helpful. WiFi works quite alright. And finally, coffee is good.
I have the impression that you could buy one coffee and stay there the whole day, no one would bother.

Cozy and friendly - Edit
This Cafe is part of a yoga studio, so it has no sign out on the street; one needs to find it by the address, though on good weather days they put a board outside the door with the menu of the day. The South Indian style food is excellent, though, and served quickly and with great friendliness. Will definitely come back here if in the area.
Read morePros: Delicious Indian style food (South Indian mostly), Friendly, peaceful atmosphere, Reasonable prices
Cons: The portions could be a bit more generous
