Great and affordable indian food - Edit
The food was fresh and flavorful and I had the best Samosa of my life here. They use cilantro quite a lot though so as someone who cannot stand the taste of cilantro, I regretted not asking about it before ordering!

Just what we needed - Edit
Not pretentious, almost hidden location. Lunch was nutritious and so tasty. No fake meats or highly processed food. Just good eats.

My favourite kind of place - Edit
What a great find! Love everything about it - simple place, calm and welcoming in between hectic traveling, modest number of menu items but all really delicious and reasonably priced. Fantastic juice. Staff so very friendly and warm. On our recent visit we ate takeaway lunch in the park while waiting for a train then went back to buy another meal to take with us and eat for supper when we got home late after two days of travel. Perfect.

Superb Little Place, Wonderful Staff - Edit
So pleased that I made the effort to head here after an extensive day of travelling, it was just what was needed. Fine dining it certainly isn’t, but the fact there were no airs and graces made it all the better. The food was quick, fresh, affordable and delicious, and the staff were wonderful too.

Gem! - Edit
Such a wonderful experience to have lunch here. The staff was so so friendly and explained everything to me, how to eat the different sauces etc. The food was great. It's not a place to go if you want something picturesque or cozy, but for a cheap delicious lunch it's perfect!!

2 entrances and 1 is accessible with a Lift: food amazing! - Edit
The food is delicious, my second visit in a couple of months and same high standard. I had masala dosa, detox juice then a mango lassi.
Read moreThere are actually 2 entrances, one is on Judd St and is stairs only. The other entrance is via the main YMCA entrance just around the corner on Cromer Street and at this entrance there is a wide access lift which opens very close to the cafe. This place is now my stop off place when I'm at King's Cross, love it.
Pros: Very friendly staff, Nice vibes and decor

Warm and welcoming - Edit
Maybe I shouldn’t be surprised at the nice vibes and relaxed energy of this place considering it’s attached to a yoga studio next door. The set-up is a low key canteen-style affair which helps to create the laidback but social atmosphere of the space.
Read moreAround us, a community group was meeting and friends were catching up, which makes a nice change from the typical London cafe of heads buried in laptop screens. The staff undoubtedly play a part in this, as we were treated to a genuinely warm welcome as well as great food.
Our wraps were nourishing, tasty but not too heavy. The homemade dal and chutney on the side is a lovely bonus. With all mains costing around £9, we can’t wait to come back and try the rest!

Star of India - Edit
Absolutely love this place. Such welcoming staff and excellent Indian food. I got the masala dosa, which was cooked and spiced to perfection. Portion size was great value for money too and the accompanying daal and homemade chutney were divine. Not only that, it's just a short walk from Kings Cross station. Highly recommend.

Very tasty and a great deal - Edit
I was catching a train out of King's Cross station and checked Happy Cow for something close.
Read moreThis is a green of a place. Simple and very good food.
I had the dosa wrap - gluten free.
All of the mains are 8.95.
This was one of the best meals I have had in the UK and easily the best cost for a great meal.
The spice level was perfect. Great mixture of spinach masala and veggies.
Several of the people frequenting the place has brought some of their own food to eat and the operator seemed quite cool with that. Very respectful.

Amazing! - Edit
This is what I didn’t know I needed. I was heading to a different restaurant when I decided to make a last second switch and come here based off of reviews. I’m glad I did. It was amazing! I cannot remember the name of what I ordered but it was fantastic. The sauces were fantastic too. I also ordered some pakoras.

Delicious, cheap vegan cafe - Edit
If you're wanting some food that's unpretentious and tasty and will fill you up for not much money, Thenga should definitely be on your radar!
Read moreAll mains are just under £8 and you get a decent amount of food for that. I had the dhal, rice, vegetable side and a paratha, all for a tenner. It wasn't spicy, but was warming which is perfect for this cold weather.
There's plenty of space in the cafe, and it's not really decorated at all. Service was friendly and he even served me early because I accidentally turned up before it opened. Cheap and cheerful. I would go here again in a heartbeat.
