Perfect lunch spot - Edit
Grabbed a falafel platter and ate at the outdoor tables. Great quick lunch. Perfect falafel, and the pita is soooo soft. Will probably be back

The BEST falafel! - Edit
I’ve been to dozens of pita joints in Israel and several in NYC, and Tamam is by far the best I’ve ever had. The quality, freshness, and flavor of the ingredients are unmatched. You can tell Chef Eli and all the staff really care. Their 3 sauces are also unparalleled; their schug (herbaceous chili sauce) is so flavorful and nuanced, and their amba (tangy fermented mango sauce) is magical, turning anything it touches into pure gold.

Great hummus and falafel - Edit
Inexpensive, high quality hummus and falafel. If you've been to Maoz, Taboonette, Hummus Place, or Hummus Kitchen and liked them, you will love Tamam. You can get your hummus as a bowl, as a pita sandwich, or as a platter. They have cauliflower and other veggies. Lots of gluten-free options, but no GF pita bread. They have another location in the Union Square area, which is also excellent.
Read moreThis is just steps from the 77th St. #6 train stop. It's on the Upper East Side near the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Museum Mile (the area with *many* other museums). Most museums are starting to have some vegan options in their cafes, but quality varies widely. Tamam could be a nice lunch spot in between a whole day in museums. It's also within walking distance of Central Park.
Pros: Excellent hummus and falafel, Gluten-free options, Extremely affordable
Cons: No gluten-free pita bread, Not sure which if any items are organic

Simple and good - Edit
Excellent falafel and authentic Israeli sparkling juices. Cauliflower shawarma is not as good as falafel. Fresh pita is delicious.

All vegan falafel place! Everything was fresh and tasty, I literally watched them make and fry the falafel balls right then and there! Outdoor seating for a quick bite.

Really delicious - Edit
I’ve been 3 times so far and each time it has been top notch. The falafel and cauliflower shawarma are both amazing. Sauces are tasty too. $10ish is a reasonable price for a huge sandwich like this. Also the pita is incredible!!!!

Delicious food friendly staff - Edit
$9.50 is expensive for a pita sandwich but they are quite delicious and good size. “Shawarma” cauliflower is super. Be careful with the sauces taking away as they can make a mess and soggy sandwich but they are great if eating right away.
