Gave the wrong order - Edit

There are two breakfast burritos: “vegan breakfast burrito” and “green chili breakfast burrito.” The waitress must have misheard “vegan” as “green chili” and brought the wrong order.

Of the many restaurants I have been to since being vegan, I’ve only ever had one other mishap. Being the .1% of screw ups is a bad look in my opinion.

Plus, they have a surcharge, which is an absolute scam of hiding the true cost, rather than changing the actual price on the menu:

“As a way to offset rising costs associated with the restaurant (food, beverage, labor, benefits, supplies), we have added a 3% surcharge to all checks. We do this in lieu of increased menu prices. You may request to have this taken off your check, should you choose”

$16 for a small, soggy burrito is a bit absurd for me. However, it’s far from uncommon for this type of establishment.

My husband and I have been vegan for 5 years and have luckily, never had any huge issues eating at non-vegan restaurants. However, unfortunately, Summer House made a mistake all vegans fear when eating out. My husband ordered us both the vegan breakfast burritos. Unfortunately, I didn’t read the description on the menu and with vegan products coming so far with JUST egg and cheez, I didn’t think much about it before taking a bite. When we notified the waitress after we thought something was wrong, she said “you wanted the vegan burritos?” then said “oh” and just walked away. No apologies were said until the manager came over to deal with the waitresses mistake. Sadly, the non-vegan burritos they served us are now wasted and the animal-cruelty on that plate cannot be reversed. If you decide to go here, double and triple check that what you ordered is in fact vegan. We typically do this, but with “vegan” in the title, we didn’t.

Cons: Vegan burrito isn’t great, Very loud inside, Very hot inside in the summer

Ok Lunch - Edit

Visit the place for a business lunch with my group. They don’t have many options but they were very accommodating, they also have plenty of salads that can be made Vegan.

Pros: Beautiful venue

Cons: Expensive lunch prices with no lunch menu
