Great food with a great mission - Edit
We were so excited to eat at Strecha tonight. The restaurant is large and bright. When we first entered we thought it was small, but the restaurant is in the shape of an L and has about three separate seating areas on the long arm. We sat in the very end room which had a couch with a low table and a chess set and a monopoly game. Our servers were very nice and spoke to us in English.
Read moreWe ordered the dumplings on red cabbage and the fried cheese with fries. It was great to get to try some traditional Czech dishes veganized. The food was delicious and the portions were generous - we sadly weren't able to finish our meals because we ran out of room.
We were happy to purchase a pending meal for someone in need.

See headline - had a good time at strecha. A nice way to try some „typical“ tzech food, without eating meat.

Great food and nice place - Edit
The food I had was very good, looked very traditionally czech for my tourist eyes, which is a plus. I really enjoyed the meal.
Read moreHowever, my girlfriend has a soy allergy, so the only kind of dinner she could eat was a salad with an extra order of fries. If there were soy-free options available, I would have given 5 stars.
Pros: Good food, Traditional, Nice place
Cons: Not suitable for soy allergy

Nice atmosphere, amazing people, great food - Edit
We have been there to get vegan options of local food. It turned out Strecha is being run as a cooperative - in my view this is always extra points :)
Read moreWe had a friendly and warm welcome. I loved the location not only because they are featuring local political artists as well.
The food was great, not overly fancy but very solid and tasty and brought up memories. Will come again if possible. Thanks to everyone contributing to Strecha!

Taste of Czech - Edit
They served amazing vegan versions of traditional Czech classics. Highly recommended if you are visiting Prague, and don’t count calories (the fried cheese portion was huge).
Read moreThey price themselves way better than the tourist traps in the old town.
Their cocktails were okay.
They offer to “pay forward” a meal.
Pros: Traditional Czech food, Lots of space
Cons: Mediocre cocktails, A short walk off the beaten path

Die Auswahl ist gut, es ist wirklich günstig und der Kuchen ist super. Unsere drei Hauptspeisen waren leider total fad..

Can't go wrong with Střecha - Edit
This is the new installment for Střecha which has more room and more on the menu than the earlier place in Žižkov. It's great to see such a place thrive with its socially responsible agenda.
Read moreWe had Schnitzels with potato salad, which was 4 out of 5 (could need a bit more salt/pepper), beer Gulasch with dumplings (5 of 5) and fried cheese with French fries (5 of 5). They also have cake and sweets.
Service was quick, the food rather cheap. We paid 9 euro for a meal and drink.
I recommend going there and enjoying their traditional Czech inspired cuisine. And if you do so, please buy a prepaid lunch for a person in need as well, which is only an additional 6 euro.
Pros: Tasty traditional Czech cuisine , Low prices , Prepaid lunch for people in need
Cons: Nothing

Best restaurant I’ve seen - Edit
You should go and check it out for yourself, but this place is magical in its absolute casualness of delivery, food, taste, and environment. This should be an absolute standard of a restaurant upon which other restaurants should take inspiration on what the perfect experience is. The food was very tasty, but not too overwhelming. The flavors were smooth but vibrant. The food was also quite simple and minimalistic; the ingredients used were almost obvious. I had a lunch menu (main dish soup) and a dessert for only 200 CZK! (

Friendly and inexpensive - Edit
It was after 10pm and only Czech "snacks" available but staff were very helpful. Got tofu egg, garlic tofu (very nice!), and vegan aspic, and then cake! Inexpensive. Accept cards. Clean bathrooms. Nice large, bright space. Do a different lunch menu deal everyday

Ehh - Edit
I have to change my rating. I have been to Strecha before they moved and the food tasted really nice. But I have been here 3x since their moving to the city centre and I don’t think I’m going again. The food was bland and just not good. If you plan on going there I would recommend their appetizers - egg spread and loaded tofu, these were actually really good. As far as entrees go, can’t recommend anything, sorry.

Read moreThe place is cozy and friendly. I didn't like the food very much.
I got the kebab, it was very salty and heavy.
My other friends tried the burger and it was good.
But don't have too high expectation for the food except it is branded vegan.
Pros: 100 % Vegan

Nice vegan bistro - Edit
The food was very tasty, I had a schnitzel. But it was too much schnitzel and not enough potato salad for me. The meat substitute was also a bit hard on my stomach afterwards. Would definitely come back anyway😄

Great food experience! - Edit
This little gem of a restaurant not only serve all vegan and delicious food, they also offer a menu where the most common allergies are noted next to each dish. The staff is wonderfully helpful and the interior of the place is very cosy. I had the snitzel with french fries and it was truly scrumptious!

Delicious food and great location - Edit
This place has a great feel to it, it’s really comfortable and aesthetically interesting. Loved the giant plate of chips/fries with 3 sauces to start. The salads were fresh and delicious, wasn’t the biggest fan of my soy schnitzel, but the potato salad that accompanied it was flavorful. Affordable prices and nice pivo selection.
