Yummy! - Edit
The sweet snd spicy tofu sandwich was great! Also enjoyed the kale smoothie. Sandwich was large and prices are not bad. They were also having a BOGO free special on the sandwich at the time, so that was an especially good deal!

ordered: Zhajiang Noodle Salad & Black Pepper Mushroom Bao Bun - tiny place with just a few seats but amazing food. Both the noodle salad and the bao bun were the perfect level of spicy for me and super tasty.

The bentos and baos were delicious! Only complaint was, the lunch came with a side soup which was way too salty.

Somebody in Chinatown loves you - Edit
When you walk into Spring Cafe, just off busy Canal Street, a bright, multicolored heart greets you with the words: “Somebody in Chinatown loves you.” After finally visiting, I can confirm—it tracks! I ordered the Teriyaki Quinoa Bowl with grilled chik’n and the two-bao bun special: one with braised tofu skin and the other with vegan BBQ pork. The braised tofu was subtle and balanced, while the BBQ bao was a flavor bomb—both were delicious.
Read moreSpring Cafe is onto something smart. Their baos are bigger than average, and with combo offerings that include your choice of fries or hot soup, the baos aren’t just sides anymore—they’re the main event. And it’s about time they stepped into the spotlight.

Sooooo good!!! - Edit
Probably the best smoothie I've ever had, perfectly cooked mushrooms and peper on my bao bun, and amazingly crispy fries ! My partner usually doesn't eat plant-based food because it hurts their stomach, but they absolutely loved this place because of how well-cooked everything was!

Loved this place. Got the chickenless salad. Was very full afterwards. Decent portion for the price in downtown Manhattan. Would absolutely come back here again.

YUMMY! - Edit
I had vegan ham cheese with filter coffee with soy milk this morning and I LOVED THE SANDWICH!! I couldn’t decide between Hash brown cheese sandwiches and vegan ham one so I asked for hash brown as a side. I loved tne whole breakfast and will definitely go there to try other foods again!! Whole three things cost around $21/22

The bao buns are a 5 !! We would go back for those. The food was really good just did not bang like the bao, the bao slapped!!

Lovely staff, lovely little venue in China town, and if you go during happy hour it is buy one get one free on smoothies 😍

I love this spot, especially since I can walk here for lunch! I've tried the boxed lunch, the baos, and the sandwiches. I love a good sandwich. The tofu skin is great.

My first time ever having braised tofu - simply heavenly. The place has a small dine-in area with 40min time limit, and lovely staff. Can't wait to try their sweets too!

Great food and large, varied, all-vegan menu. Can't wait to go back. - Edit
We ate there late afternoon during a lull and, as we finished, three groups totaling about eight customers walked in. We knew why.
Read moreWe ate the Hawaiian Vegan Burger (a chicken patty topped with a fresh pineapple slice and agave mustard sauce), and a Braised Tofu Skin Bao Bun. We got both as a combo with French fries and sweet potato fries and iced tea (your choice of sweetened or unsweetened).
Their menu is so varied - burgers, sandwiches, salads, bowls, bao buns, Japanese Bento boxes, and desserts.
The food was hot, freshly prepared, and really tasty. We look forward to eating there again and asked to participate in their frequent diner bonus program.
You won't be disappointed in this clean little restaurant near a subway stop.

Chinatown gem - Edit
I had very good vegan food. Two things I would do better: More or at least more comfortable seating to dine in and real dishes/ cutlery if no take out. Even with my 'for there' meal I got everything in one way containers and plastic forks. But the menu and food is really nice.

Best for a quick, casual, indulgent meal. - Edit
Spring Cafe is in the midst of Manhattan Chinatown's heavy foot traffic, so sitting by the window is a great way to see the world go by, to "people watch".
Read moreWith that said, the interior of this eatery is minimalist with counter tables and chairs only, so it's not a place to spend a lot of time in, which is definitely OK.
With that said, my friend and I enjoyed a conversation over lunch here. Spring Café is an upscale, Asian-American version of vegan fast food, so it's indulgent and the menu is clearly curated thoughtfully. The Black Pepper Mushroom Burger is a light, flavorful burger to eat, and some fries and buns are a must to supplement your main meal.
