Update 2024-04-25
Went back a year later, omg still so good! It’s tasty, fast and perfect cooked. It’s hard to eat at another place today hehe

Updated 2025-04-09
Good but something was different. Smaller portions and I felt like I needed a starter or something as well. Usually im super full after the president-dish, now I was not. But still recommended, it was still really good. But maybe I think its a little expensive now when the dish is smaller

Delicious but inconsistent

(Feb 2021) Tasty and fresh. Prices are a bit on the expensive side but there's a 15% lunch discount and 10% student discount. Complementary jasmine tea was a nice touch. The staff were friendly and attentive.

Update (Feb 2025): had been a while since I'd been, but was much more impressed. Menu is bigger and mains all come with rice or noodles which makes the prices much more reasonable. Everything delicious and really fresh tasting.

Another update (March 2025): turns out it's new owners - website and online booking are linked to previous owner and current one has no access, they said this is also why it's always cash only 🤷‍♀️ went back for the delicious crispy pancake and was given something more like a samosa! Was told this was the new verison - was a completely different item, but they offered to make the old version which we took them up on. So odd. I wonder if they just gave us the wrong thing. One main was then also wrong, and was given noodle side instead of rice. Felt chaotic, wouldn't rush back.

Great vegan Vietnamese food in Edinburgh

Missing prawn crackers? Theirs are as good. Fab crispy mushroom starter. Aubergine and tofu main - a bit gelatinous (in texture - still vegan!)
(Want to book? Note the web booking form is for London only - need to phone them)

Pros: All vegan , Fab smoothies

Cons: No alcohol license - ** Now has beer and wine!, Cash only

Well worth a visit

Never new about Sen Viet Vegan until recently. Now 3 vegan places close together on this street. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the tofu was delicious. We had read that it was BYOB, but they now have a licence. Worth trying.

Pros: Great food, Fast service, Now licensed

Cons: Too bright

Stunning food, super friendly staff

We went on 5/11 and ordered two meals we'd never tried before, the Ha noi caramel and banana and the caramel and kohlrabi.
We also had the salt chill pepper mushrooms, sesame coconut crackers and salad, along with fried ice cream and mango spring rolls.
Everything was out quick, was hot, fresh and full of flavour.
Really impressed with everything, the restaurant was lovely and the two staff were great, friendly and attentive.

Loved it.

Pros: Staff, Flavour , Selection

Great flavours

Welcoming atmosphere, was nicely busy. We had the starter sharing platter which was delicious, loved the salad on that. Aubergine main course was very good too. Hadn’t realised it was BYO though

Buonissimo!

Il cibo è davvero strepitoso, il pho era delizioso, pieno di sapore e gusto. Ci siamo trovati benissimo ed è stato bello trovare rifugio qui in una piovosa Edimburgo e gustare dell'ottimo cibo vegano. Consiglio assolutamente!

Pros: Gentilezza personale, Cibo

Nice quick Vietnamese meal

The staff here are eager to please and very nice. Loved everything I tried. The Vietnamese crepe was a bit too crispy to eat with a fork & knife but also not able to be picked up to be eaten by hand (great flavor despite challenges eating it). Would go back.

Authentic Vietnamese food

We were lucky enough to get a table for two so we could escape the rain and have dinner - and we were lucky to have found this lovely place! We both had soup, Pho and a spicier one, and fried ice cream for dessert. Everything tasted just great and was the perfect comfort food for this rainy evening. Very friendly staff too!

Pros: Great soups, friendly staff, great atmosphere

Really really good food and very nice service. Listing here says vegetarian at the time of writing but it's all vegan nowadays from looking at the menu.

Amazing value vegan food

Best vegan Vietnamese i’ve had. The waiter gave me some great recommendations and was very sweet. Food came out super quick after ordering. They were having issues with the card machine when we went so it was probably quieter than usual but it was still a lovely atmosphere.

Pros: Quick service, Great value

Absolutely going back

We had a lovely dinner there recently - a share box to start between two, and then I had the tofu/aubergine clay pot for my main. I was expecting green banana not aubergine so it was a bit of a surprise, but it tasted great. The rice is a little sticky - just how I like it, and the writing around the edge of the plate was in sriracha sauce. We’ll definitely be coming back again soon!

Pros: Flavour, Choice, Textures

Cons: Menu is a little confusing - had a slight mix up

Highly recommended

Went there following a recommendation from our airbnb host. Super nice place in central Edinburgh, easy to find due to its light yellow color. They only serve vegan food. The staff was really friendly and the food was served quickly. The dishes were really good, we had fried rice and a dish with bananas and vegan fish chunks that were absolutely delicious! Enjoyed our stay there.

Pros: Delicious food, Super friendly staff, All vegan place

Delicious!

I ordered a main course (tofu with eggplant) and a starter (papaya salad). Both dishes were delicious, tasting just as I remembered them from Asia. Great, authentic food.

PS. I don't know why the restaurant is labeled as vegetarian. I think everything on the menu was vegan, also the sign outside was labeled "vegan".

Pros: Taste, Service

To(o)fu(ll)

The Lemongrass and chili tofu was absolutely delicious! And I thought I didn’t like lemongrass. :)
The stir fry noodles with vegetables was good, nothing crazy. Huge portions of both. Both very mildly spicy.

Atmosphere was great. Spacious and quiet, with outlets by the table! (Not sure if that’s standard in the UK, but it thrilled me).

I’ll have to come back to try the dessert and the caramelized tofu with green banana… and everything else.
