Worth a visit (or two) - Edit
We are visiting and came here upon arrival and we are not disappointed. The full breakfast was amazing and the 'nae egg' was some of the best scramble we have ever had. They make it in house and it was shockingly good. Also had a biscoff bun that was good. Coffee was good as well. As mentioned very small space so plan for possible take away. Service was amazing and friendly. Highly recommend.

Delicious all-vegan breakfast at Black Rabbit—small spot, big flavors! - Edit
We had an excellent breakfast at Black Rabbit, a cozy, fully vegan café in Edinburgh. The Full Vegan Breakfast was absolutely delicious—hearty, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. A perfect way to start the day!
Read moreJust a small heads-up: the standard breakfast contains gluten, but they do offer gluten-free bread and are happy to accommodate dietary needs—just let them know. The chef is clearly thoughtful about options.
The drink menu features a nice variety of hot teas and specialty coffee drinks, all plant-based, of course. The café itself is quite small—it seats about 10 people max—so you might need to wait a bit during busy hours, but it’s well worth it.
Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quality vegan meal in a relaxed, welcoming space. A real find in Edinburgh!

Really outstation cafe - Edit
Small cafe, with a really sweet couple that runs it. We had a haggis sandwich, egg and cress sandwich, and sausage roll. Everything was great and the roll stood out with ita flaky pastry and addition or tofu scramble. It is a must see spot, off the beaten path

It may have been the too-much-wine-at-a-wedding-where-all-I-could-eat-was-a-stuffed-pepper talking, but this breakfast was astronomical.

Very delicious sandwich - Edit
The place is very small so you need some luck to get a seat. The Tofu Teriyaki Sandwich was very delicious. Take away prices are cheaper.

Delicious sandwiches, cakes, and drinks. Good selection of vegan cheese and deli meats to buy. A must visit for vegans in Edinburgh. Good location to get something to go eat on The Meadows.

Went here for a sandwich and was pretty disappointed. I had the ‘egg’ mayo and found the bread way too doughy and the contents a bit bland. With a bit of love and attention to detail, could be so much better. Maybe the cakes are good but I don’t eat cakes. Giving 3 stars because the place is at least 100% vegan.

Hi, thanks for your feedback.
Read moreWe are genuinely sorry you did not enjoy our food, the hungry rabbit is one of our best selling sandwiches and the quiche is another well received dish, also we do check on all the food we send out and that day we had no complaints, so I can only encourage you to share your feedback in person with us or the staff working next time you come in and we will be happy to make things right for you.

Cosy and tasty - Edit
Cosy little spot with 3 tables. No toilets available on site so definitely more or a takeaway place. Friendly staff. Tasty food.
Read moreI didn't get a picture this time but I ordered a hot chocolate and a BLT.
The hot chocolate with oat milk was creamy and had a nice sweet chocolate flavour.
The BLT was extremely good. Thick bread with lettuce, tomato, mayo and some of the tastiest vegan bacon I've ever eaten. I'd definitely order this again but I should try something else the next time I visit (I'm eying up those eggs and pastries)
Definitely a must visit if you're in Edinburgh!

We LOVED it - Edit
We wanted to have a vegan breakfast here so badly because of the reviews. As there are only 3 tables inside and all of them were occupied, we waited outside for a little while and it was SO WORTH IT!
Read moreThe owners were so very nice and the food was delicious. (I'd especially recommend trying something with "nae egg", it was amazing.)
We loved it so much that we each had to get something sweet after our breakfast AND took a second sweet treat home as well.
Pros: The nicest staff, Amazing "nae egg", Good prices
Cons: Little seating space, might have to wait a bit

Lots of potential with the sandwiches and their fillings. The bread was on the dry side, which holds me back from giving full stars. The cakes all looked fabulous.

Cute Cafe with Great Food - Edit
Might have had the one of the best dirty chai's I've had here. Stopped in here for brunch - only a couple of tables and luckily one was free when we arrived as they have a separate sit in menu - and ordered the tofu Benedict which was outstanding. Great place if you're looking for a tasty breakfast or lunch!
