Birthday dinner w friends - Edit
I spent my birthday here with some friends and it was so lovely. I loved the candle-lit ambience and the food and wine was spot on. They even “surprised” me with a slice of dessert with a candle. 🥰

Don’t wait as long as I did to try! - Edit
This was a long time coming! I have been wanting to try @puravita_la forever and am glad we finally did! Our dinner was amazing- the highlights were definitely the carbonara pizza (mozzarella, avocado egg and macadamia Romano cream, shiitake bacon and parsley) and the affogato. The carbonara pizza was rich and like nothing I’d ever taste before. I think the avocado egg was the key ingredient, I’d never seen it worked into pizza like that! It was a dinner special, but the carbonara pasta is a permanent fixture on the menu so I’d recommend that if you can’t get the pizza version. Dessert was affogato with hazelnut gelato that was so creamy (oat milk based)!!!! It tasted like a was eating a vegan Ferrero rocher and it was the perfect end to a delicious meal. Appetizer: garlic knots (delish), other pizza: Americana (good but carbonara stole the show). The staff was super friendly and I manifested a parking spot at a meter right in front of the restaurant so I guess you can say it was a magical dinner!

Unfortunately the food does not live up to the hype. The vibe, location, and service are excellent but there’s no way this is a top LA restaurant imo.

The wait would have been long so we sat at the bar. The chairs are not comfortable. The music was nice but it was a little too loud.

Kinda disappointing - Edit
Maybe I ordered the wrong things, but I don't understand why this is in the top 5 highest-rated restaurants on HappyCow for LA. The restaurant was cute, and there are no complaints with the service. The location is good. The food is a let down though. I didn't care for 2/3 of the things I tried. And even the one I liked (calzone) wasn't particularly flavorful or of high quality

Good food, good ambience - Edit
My wife and I like this place a lot. Good food, good ambiance. We had the Arancini, , mozzarella stick, the Pura Puta salad. For our main I had the puttanesca and my wife had baked Ziti Alfredo with butternut squash. For dessert we had the Pignoli cookies and of course the tiramisu..

I don’t understand the hype - Edit
Maybe I have been unlucky each time I have gone there but I have been here a handful of times over the last 5 years and never had a good meal here. I know so many rave about it and sadly I just don’t think it’s worth the money.
Read moreI had the bruschetta to start which was honestly incredibly bland, I have had a few different pasta dishes from them and again lacking so much flavor. I just think in this day and age there are better vegan restaurants.

Pretty good is about right. - Edit
Pura Vita is nice vegan Italian menu prepared with fresh ingredients.
Read moreThe pasta is freshly made in house and vegan which is a major plus factor. However the casual setting and service with fine dining prices is somewhat surprising; so be prepared for it to be a bit pricey.
The pizza style here is classic neapolitan which is a softer crust. They like to sauce up the pie (a bit too much imo) so the pizza crust can get floppy and messy if you’re not careful. Gotta roll and fold the slice to enjoy it with no fuss. The breading on the crust was fantastic, delicious and memorable. Dessert was sweet and delicious and the presentation was on point. Make sure to make a reservation in advance.

Tremendous and Luxurious - Edit
What a feet, a vegan Italian restaurant that's so Flippin fantastic. From appetizers to salad ti veggies and mains, this place did not disappoint. While seemingly expensive, you get what you pay for. Everything we tried was out of this world. Crispy, creamy, and so brilliantly tasty. The pictures tell it all. A dough that is so New York.
Read morePros: Atmosphere is casual and warm, Staff was attentive and made eye contact., Took there options to another level.

Lovely place, great food - Edit
We visited on a recent trip to LA. Great location on Santa Monica Blvd. We ate a Marinara pizza and Linguine de Mare. The pizza was fantastically garlicky and the pasta was really tasty and perfectly cooked. We treated ourselves to tiramisu for dessert which was incredible. Lovely waiting staff, great atmosphere. Recommended.

My go to when in LA - Edit
I looooove this place! I try to go whenever I'm in the area. I've had the black magic lasagna, cacio e pepe and the pomodoro and all have been incredible! Their cashew mozzarella sticks don't taste like regular ones but they're still delicious. The tiramisu is great as well.
