A new favourite - Edit
Delicious food, friendly service and cosy vibe. There were 3 of us, and we shared 5 small plates, 2 sides and a jug of sangria, which turned out to be a generous amount of food, as some of the small plates are not that small! Didn't have room for a pastel de nata for dessert, so I will have to go back...

Overall had a fantastic experience at Plantuguese, the food selection is varied and all sounds delicious, the service is great, the vibe is exciting, and the vegan pastel de natas are worth a trip on their own! Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Bristol to give it a try!

We had really tasty lion's mane mushroom steaks, vegan 'eggs' with chips and salad followed by a lovely cheesecake. Thoroughly recommend!

Great flavours - Edit
Good: I went twice during my few days in Bristol. The Bacalhau à Brás was tasty and satisfying, made with palm hearts and shredded potato. With a nice red-wine sangria. Next time, I enjoyed the coxas peri-peri drumsticks and garlic corn-on-the-cob, along with a glass of green wine, and I closed with the delicious gin & raspberry cheesecake - smooth, creamy, yum!
Read moreThe flavours of everything I tried were really good.
(Would be nice to offer cold water once people are seated.)
Not so good: My first visit was disrupted by the loud, rattly delivery cart wheeling between the tables twice - maybe arrange for deliveries before the 12 noon opening time?
Second visit was a hot day, and the restaurant is going to get even hotter this week - hope they install ceiling fans or air-conditioning soon.
I look forward to another trip to Bristol, so I can try more of the menu.

Delicious, yummy, welcoming - Edit
Came to Plantuguese by myself. The staff were kind and answered my queries. I ordered a small plate, a main, and a pudding, but I was really hungry! The Pastel de Nata was very light and small, and deliciously cinnamon. The Bacalhau à Brás was really delicious and lemony, and the Coxas Peri-Peri was crispy & spicy.

Our first visit - Edit
The service at Plantugese was great. The menu, wholly vegan, offers a range of Portuguese style dishes.
Read moreThough the sangria came highly recommended on this occasion we had the non alcoholic mojitos, which were sharp and refreshing.
We tried the scallops, in a lovely creamy sauce. We also had the croquettes de carne and the signature dish, bitoque, which is grilled lions man’s with a fresh salad, a runny ‘fried egg’ and a rich garlic gravy. For dessert we had the cheesecake as the soft serve was out of action which was a huge disappointment.

So incredibly good!!! 😋 - Edit
Came here for a family (vegan and non-vegan) birthday and they were so accommodating to everyone!! The menu all looked so delicious! Even though they were out of the vegan egg which I really wanted to try, the peri-peri chicken which also amazing and the portion was really generous too. We were given some free pastel de nata and they were incredible too! I definitely recommend 😋👌

I think every vegan in Bristol has been here. And for good reason, food is delicious. My husband took me for my birthday and I loved being able to try a bit of everything. I loved the pastal de nata too!

We wanted to come here since seeing it on social media and we were not dissapointed. We opted for the small plates: Pica-Pau (really nicely flavoured), sardines, croquets (one of my personal favourites and the calamari.

Very tasty food! - Edit
I went there recently and experienced a blast of flavours! Starting with their olives with lupin beans, then Francesinha and for the dessert Pastel de Nata with coconut ice cream. I never knew than lupin beans taste so cheesy. Francesinha was flavourful and rich with lots of meats. But I must say, I preferred Bacalhau à Brás, that my friend ordered and I had a chance to try it. Pastel de Nata with ice cream was heavenly tasty, I would eat 10 more of them.

As a vegan who has been missing sea-food, it was great to see such a different, inventive and tasty menu! I had the oyster mushroom scallops (the sauce was so lush), calamari & the arroz de marisco, which were all delicious. Definitely will be going back to try more of the menu and to have another pastéis de nata! ☺️

👌🏻It was so good that we returned multiple times in just a few days.
Read moreWe especially loved the bacalhao (cod) à bras and the soupy seafood rice (Arroz de mariscos). Just for those 2, they earned 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.
👎🏻On a different night, we also tried the Francesinha and it's historically extremely heavy even in the non-vegan version. This one was equally heavy, even though we shared 1 between 2 people and I promised myself not to have it ever again. But it's not the restaurant's fault, it's the dish itself.
🍰Dessert: Didn't like the biscuit cake, it seemed dry and too sweet for my taste.
