100% worth the wait my dudes

i waited upwards of 3 hours for this scrumptious bad boy, and let me tell you, it was completely worth it. of course you may be thinking “well hows it that good when its only a tomato sauce pizza??” and to that all i can say is youre wrong. just go try it. do it. please. you wont even be thinking about the wait when youre digging into the pizza some can only dream about. check your privilege. do it for them. thank you.
if you come here during a really busy time and theres a big huddle around the door, youll need to grab a number from the door man (this is for both takeaway and eat in). ill see you there ;-)

probably the best pizza you'll ever eat

this pizza is truly mind-blowing. everything about it is perfect, but the number one thing is the tomato sauce. i never saw tomato sauce as a crucial element of pizza, but here it really works this way.

as perfect as this pizza is, Da Michele is not a place for a long, calm dinner. there's not much room at the tables and everyone is in a rush (very Italian!). also if you come here during the day you'll wait in line for quite some time. i recommend coming 10 minutes before the restaurant opens.

Pros: pizza, pizza, pizza

Cons: you have to wait in line (but it's worth it!)

This pizza will change your life

No jokes here but if you are a pizza lover then you need to experience the food here.

It's simple - two options (marinara or margerita). You'd think with how we have westernised pizza that would be boring but it's the best.

I mean these guys have been making pizza for 100 years. They know what they're doing. Maybe endless toppings is a mask for the real stuff being bad.

I've heard the tomatoes in Napoli are especially delicious because of the volcanic soil from Vesuvius eruptions. Could be a load of rubbish but their sauce stands for itself.

The place is constantly with large queues outside. If you want to sit in, prepare to wait. But if not, take away is fast and for only 5 euro I'm happy to sit outside in the Italian sun and munch on my pizza.

Pros: Authentic pizza , Cheap

Cons: Long wait to sit in

Best pizza I’ve had

As a pizza lover it pains me that this place is so amazing as I’ll never get it again when I return home and will have to settle for mediocre pizza for the majority of my life. They serve two types, marinara (base & sauce) and margarita (base, sauce, cheese and basil), that’s it, two types, but this isn’t a bad thing, it keeps it authentic and it’s truly delicious so you won’t mind. It’ll actually make you think about pizza back home having too much because it is missing a great sauce and outstanding base.

You’ll always see a queue outside which is a good sign, but don’t be put off as this is for people waiting to sit in, they have loads of seats but will be a wait. If you want take away which I recommend, just walk in and tell the cashier take away and your order and wait. Both times I went in was usually a ten minute wait which isn’t bad, if you don’t want to go back to hotel there are some seats around and some of the cafes I noticed allow you to sit at them if you buy drinks.

Don’t miss out on this place!

Pros: Pizza perfection, Cheap only €5

Cons: Waiting time for sit in

7,50 for a huge Pizza and 1L of water!

Great place, really cheap, old rustically decorated not cozy but charming in a way. I recommend going there early otherwise I’m not sure if waiting for 60 minutes is really worth it, we went at 7 and waited for 20 minutes but you can take out the pizza (take away) and go to the bar opposite da michele, if you buy a drink there you can enjoy the pizza outside on theor tables!!

Pros: Price

Cons: Waiting queue

149 year old pizza shop

This was one of the best pizzas I have ever had. It only has two pizzas: with and without cheese. It's very busy and you will have to wait to get a table or you can get take away, which many people did and ate in the lane way.

Pros: Super authentic and tasty.

Cons: Busy

Super busy famous pizzeria

I didn't know but apparently Julia Roberts comes to eat there in "Eat, Pray, Love". So the place is quite busy with a mix of tourists and locals. Com early and wait with a number outside for free seats.
Pizza was good in the pure napolitan tradition. There are only two options: Margherita or Marinara. I shared my table with 3 locals who told me Da Michele serves the best pizzas of all of Italy. It was good but not to that point :)

Pros: Traditional pizzas

Cons: Buzy

Good pizza

The marinara (there is no other vegan option) is very good and cheap (5€ for maxi size which was good for an average, not extremely hungry male). The atmosphere on the other hand is very, well, authentic and everything goes really fast, feels like main station. Dunno if I saw even one smile in the waiter‘s faces. Still a yummy experience :)

well worth the wait

Absolutely delicious - very much recommended - the dough was literally perfect and I really like the thought of this pizzeria being so old and traditional.

I recommend getting a take-away since you won't have to wait for a table.

Pros: The pizza is huge! , very good value

Delicious Pizza

Delicious pizza! They have 3 different size (normal 4 €, medium 4.5 and maxi 5). For me the normal was definitely big enough. If you are in Naples you have to try this pizza!

Pros: Vegan pizza, Cheap price

Cons: Long wait but it worth it

Best vegan pizza I had

We have tried marinara pizza in multiple places in Naples and the rest of Italy, but the one at da Michele is the true gem. The price is also very pleasant. I recommend take-away. No point in waiting a long line to sit in a rather poorly furnished location.

Pros: pizza, crust, how fast it is made

Cons: long lines if you want a table

Best pizzas we've ever eaten

This is a small, cheap restaurant restaurant where you drink your Italian beer from plastic glasses. You won't think that Pizzeria da Michele is recommended by the Michelin Guide and has a long hungry queue outside waiting to get a seat. These pizzas were everything else than shabby! The only vegan option was a simple Pizza Marinara (in fact, the only other option was a Margarita). The dough was so juicy, the tomato sauce was amazing made with fresh tomatoes and spiced with oregano and just the right amount of garlic, everything drizzled with a delicious olive oil. Even the cheese lover among us stated that the pizza didn't need cheese! Italians sure know how to make pizza! 😍

Pros: Amazing pizza, Price

Cons: Might be a long waiting time, but it is worth it

Gute

Cons: wenig Auswahl aber is egal. Denn die Marinara wird

YUM

Omg was not expecting the pizza to be that tasty!!! Highly recommend going here and experiencing one of the oldest pizza places in Naples! Was very busy when we went but it seemed you could go straight in and order take away and it only ended up taking about 5 minutes. Eating in is nothing special but go in and watch them pump out 10 pizzas a minute! The marinara pizza is vegan, margarita is vegetarian - these are the only pizzas they make. Cheap prices!

Pros: SO TASTY

Cons: Bust to eat in

I might have been unlucky, but it has been a big disappointment.
The pizza was nothing special.
Definitely not worth the wait and all the buzz about that place.

Pros: price

Cons: waiting time, disappointing pizza

delicious traditional pizza

Delicious pizza in a simple setting. They have been making it like this for about 130 years. €6 for a large pizza and a beer.

Pros: tasty, cheap

Amazing pizza!

This place is a vegetarian restaurant, although only really by circumstance, as it only offers two types of pizza - with cheese or without (Margherita or Marinara). So no hassles over trying to understand the menu! We ordered one of each - we both preferred the Marinara, although the Margherita is pretty damned good too! I would recommend a visit to this place if you are visiting Naples - it is frequented by locals and is just great to go there. The staff don't speak much English, but it isn't hard to let them know what you want! You wont be there long - there is a queue to get in and you pretty much have to leave as soon as you are finished your meal!

Pros: Wonderful pizza!, No hassles over the menu!, Fast service - once you get in.

Cons: Have to queue outside. Take a number.

Worth to visit one or few times

Of course I was curious to visit Pizzeria da Michele after reading how special history it has. Pizza was really good and big one was really big sized (big-medium-small options). Why so cheap than 6-7$ with a beer? They just said they doesn't need more profits.
With a drink they gave plastic cup... Staff was OK, not really friendly. They hurried people to go out too quickly. Reason was "waiting list." When coming to Pizzeria da Michele, you will see lot of people in front of it. You gotta go inside and ask waiting number. We were waiting 70 minutes in normal weekday to get in.

I liked lot of pizzeria next to this, Trianon founded 1923: http://www.lucianopignataro.com/articolo.php?pl=4569
Staff was there really friendly and place was overall nice.

Pros: Good value, Original atmosphere

Cons: Noisy, Too compact

The Best Pizza in the World

The same family has been making pizza since 1870. Need I say more? This is the original pizza. They only offer two kinds. One with cheese and one without. A pizza with a beverage (soda or beer) is about $6 USD.

This is a bare bones simple old fashioned place that the locals line-up for. It is nothing fancy but that it part of the charm besides the most delicious pizza ever. If you get here early I've never had to wait, but, service is usually rapid and well worth any wait.

There are two other pizza places a few minutes walk away. Both are almost as old, good food , more spacious, comfortable seating and offer a larger menu and more topping choices. They also both offer plenty of dead animal flesh. Also, I dont think anyones pizza is as good as Micheles'.

My favorite place in Naples and the best pizza in the world.

Pros: Delicious, Traditional , Inexpensive

Cons: None

Listed as vegetarian, but I am no sure that the cheese used is free of meat-based rennet--did not get answer from the management. Does anyone know?
