Great vegan breakfast options

Staff are very vegan aware, and vegan dishes central on the menu. We enjoyed fabulous breakfast set, granola set and muffins.

Came twice

Delicious breakfast. I highly recommend getting the morning set. We came two mornings in a row and the morning set was slightly different each time. I loved the different flavor combinations and the soups were amazing.

Pros: Vegan options , Friendly staff

Amazing soup

Fantastic vegetable soup with fresh bread, perfect for winter. Also has Soy milk for beverages, and a selection of cakes that can be eaten in or taken away. Good options for omni companions too. Plenty of space and not too busy when we went.

Pros: Great food, Lots of options, Quiet

Cons: On the pricier side

If only we had found this before going to Mos Burger!

After dining at Mos Burger for lunch, we found this place about a block away and we were disappointed that we didn't come here for lunch. We ordered I believe a carrot cake and brownie for dessert since there were several vegan options.

We didn't bother asking for a menu since we had already eaten.

Both desserts were great and the staff was friendly. If we're in Kyoto, we'll be back for a full meal.

Pros: Great desserts!, Friendly staff

Cozy calm café

This café has an artsy atmosphere, the food was delicious and they have some handmade things in display, that you can buy (like postcards, tea mugs).

Lovely

Vegan options were clearly marked as such and when I came the morning menu as well as the sweets were almost all vegan, so there was lots to choose from! The food and drink took a while but were delicious.

There were a few families with children, so I'd put it down as a family-friendly option! The place is also comparatively large, so no need to worry about lack of available seating.

Pay was cash only and the store was closing earlier today, so as the description says it might be good to check ahead.

In terms of price it was neither cheap nor expensive.

Perfect for a quick lunch

Perfect place for a quick lunch, and conveniently located near the Nijo Castle. We ordered their vegan burger and a ha take teishoku, made up of chickpea stew with veggies, onion and potato cake, pickles, tofu omelette, salad and brown rice. As a dessert we had the coconut and carrot cake, and a coffee jelly with fruit.

Pros: cosy place, good food

Lovely café

Within 5-10 minutes walk from Nijo Station, it has a quiet and relaxing atmosphere, you can sit comfortably and chat with your friends for as long as you want sipping a drink or eating. I had a pretty good chai latte (soy milk option available) and a really delicious vegan lentil burger, healthy and yummy, served with a small tasty salad and good crunchy bread. 5/5 for that burger. Being a cafe and not a restaurant they have a limited menu, but there are a few vegan options and they are all marked on the menu. I spoke Japanese with the staff, but they seem to know English as well.

Friendly staff, irregular hours

Tried going here a few times but the shop was closed early without obvious explanation. Success on the third try though and glad for it.
I had the vegan burger which was delicious and filling (though deceptively small at first).
If you’re in the area this is a great option, but probably not worth crossing town for.
