Vegan meat alternatives - Edit
Loved the plate of vegan cold cuts and cream cheese I had. Great to be able to have an alternative to the traditional meat dishes and paninis in the region. Friendly waiter who spoke good English.

A few very clearly labelled veggie and vegan options, and the option to ‘build’ your own sandwich if desired. Vegan cream cheese and vegan cold cuts available as well as other more obvious choices like sun dried tomatoes and courgette. I absolutely recommend the pear and ginger sauce if you are creating your own sandwich.

Amazing vegan choices - Edit
I'll admit it: I try to avoid non-vegan foods. I just don't want to have to explain what vegan means and risk being served non-vegan items. However, Sundays in Bologna are not the time to be picky about where you go for food as many vegan places are closed.
Read moreThe panini with lentil and bean-based cold cuts were absolutely outstanding. I really wasn't expecting anything like this. Sadly, the place was really busy and we were running short on time so we couldn't eat more for takeaway.
If you're in Bologna, do yourself a favor and check out this place. You won't regret it!

After walking for an hour trying to find an open vegetarian / vegan restaurant we went to Pan8. We were cold and hungry and got seated in a crowded terrace. In that state of mind the sandwiches were perfect for us: warm, tasty and big!!! I was even clever enough to order two more sandwiches to go. Two options were "meaty" and one option was with legumes, vgn cream cheese and caramelized onion (if you for some reason avoid meaty flavours). Recommended!

Beware the carpaccio! I ordered a vegan grilled vegetable and carpaccio panino. When it arrived I had to ask the waiter if it was meat. He reassured me that it was 100% plant based. The waiter said all the vegans ask the same question! It's incredible how plant based meats are evolving. The panino itself was delicious. The place is small but has a good vibe and is situated on a pedestrianised street.

Los dos platos que he probado me han parecido aburridos, uno por tener un sabor excesivamente fuerte y el otro por ser muy aceitoso. Tienen más platos veganos, pero la única vez que comí allí no fué una experiencia demasiado buena. La atención sí que ha sido amable y amistosa.

Yummy and Different! - Edit
We found this place by accident and it was wonderful. Lots of options for vegans (and non vegans). We had a "meat"-plate and yummy sandwiches. Friendly owner and great service! It felt like we got to partake in a bit of the "authentic" bologna food experience as a vegan.
