Fun menu and super tasty flavours and food! - Edit
This is such a cool restaurant they have been so creative with the menu. The food was so soo tasty and the textures were crazy good! They have really put so much effort into making the ‘ fun Chinese food’ vegetarian friendly so you don’t feel like you’re missing out. Will deffo eat here again on this trip because there is soo much on the menu I want to try. The staff are also all really friendly and passionate about the food.

Good food, afternoon tea discount - Edit
Hard to communicate with the staff because they don’t really speak any English. The food was good but not impressive or very tasty. Just good. Better than okay, but not excellent.

Half-Price Meals During The Afternoon - Edit
We were in the area and looking for another restaurant but it, for some reason, wasn't serving food at the time, so we ended up at Oriental. We didn't do much looking up because we were hungry so were going in with pretty low expectations.
Read moreFortunately, we arrived during the appropriate time for their "Afternoon Tea" menu where a good number of their main menu items are available for less than half price. We got two different noodle bowl dishes for less than 50 HKD...which is exceptionally good value. Throw in the fact that they got an exceptional amount of flavour in their Sichuan Dan Dan noodles, so spicy and peanut-y, and I'd be happy to get back here just for these alone. The tomato noodles weren't as good but still, pretty tasty.
The Char Siu was also an excellent order to have alongside our noodle dishes. Very well made by the standards that we're used to.
The whole place looks incredibly high-end for how little we paid for our meal so yeah, it's a great experience on a budget. The service is slightly on the meh side. We had to wait a while to be offered menus and they took a tea order for the table, charging us for everyone, even though we were eating with two children who had no intention of drinking any tea...so this could be better.
Still, the overall impression is a positive one. Recommended.
Pros: Afternoon Tea Menu Is Excellent Value, Low Prices But High-End Decor/Interior, Some Great Flavours
Cons: Service Is No Frills, Need To Take An Unpleasant Lift To Get There, Full Table Charge For Tea

Terrific Chinese food, bad service - Edit
Huge menu with non-vegan options clearly marked. Loads of monkey head mushroom dishes, my personal favourite ingredient. All dishes we tried were wonderful and arrived quickly. Service was incredibly slow and inattentive, but I would come back for the food. Good prices.

Great food and helpful staff - Edit
We had a mock duck and aubergine hotpot and seasonal vegetables, fried Shanghai new year cake. They were all lovely and we chatted for a long time. I'm not sure it's the same for non-Cantonese speakers but it is easier to understand the menu etc. (there are English translations, too). Must try this if you're in Wanchai.

Excellent veggie place with high quality food! - Edit
We had the sweet and sour 'pork' balls and sea spicy aubergine with veggie duck; they were both great dishes! Less oily than other restaurants, reasonably priced and friendly service

Great restaurant with heaps of vegan and vegetarian options. I had the hot & sour soup to start, followed by the super buddha feast. Heaps of different mushrooms, baby corn, tofu and greens. A true feast.

very good - Edit
Had the spicy lion's mane mushroom soup, and I'm saying yes; it's very good. Same for the fried fish. However, also tasted the BBQ honey pork; tasted more like oily donut dough or something more fit for desert. Free desert was fine, not special. They also offered a daily soup at lower price.

Delicious Chinese veg - Edit
Found this place after being recommended by the hotel. It was such a pleasant surprise, absolutely amazing menu with LOTS of options, all delicious. We split 6 dishes rice between four of us and I loved everything I tried. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and gave us free desert sample as well!

INCREDIBLE PLACE - Edit
tonight my family and a friend visited the Oriental Vegetarian and we could not be happier with the food, service and atmosphere. Completely incredible night, the staff were so polite, kind and funny and the food was some of the best vegan food I’ve had in my 6 months of being vegan (I live in London with some of the most amazing vegan food ever I think and this was even better). We are coming back on our last night before leaving Hong Kong because it was so so delicious. Cannot recommend this place enough. The chef even came out to thank us which was so lovely. Amazing food if you are vegan/vegetarian in Hong Kong you have to visit this place !!!

I ate here as part of a Meat Free Meet Up group lunch, and loved the food. It is Chinese with some interesting, more unusual, creative options. There is LOTS of variety.

- buns which we stuffed with edamame beans/firm tofu mix (so tasty!)
- Battered enoki mushrooms (yum)

We also had the following:
- melon, cashew nut, dragonfruit salad
- stuffed gourd dish
- Cabbage, goji berry, mushroom dish in soup
- Rice dumpling (found this a bit heavy)
- Dessert nut soup
Recommend a visit!

My favorite place in this area - Edit
Their food is sooo goood!!! I love their lion's mane mushroom. Their congee is also good. Just their stir-fry is very oily and greasy so I have to avoid these. Their staff is very nice. There's free wifi here.

Oriental Vegetarian, Hong Kong - Edit
This place has just opened. It's a HK style food place. My better half asked and from her enquiries there seems to be plenty vegan stuff to choose from. Food was enjoyable in a pleasant setting.
