Great Bao's - Edit
We were initially sent away after we'd already sat down, supposedly because it was the team's lunch break. The lady wasn't particularly friendly. The second time we tried, we received friendly service. The food was simple but reasonably priced; Bao's is highly recommended.

One of favorite meals on our trip (which says something) - Edit
We just spent two weeks in Thailand eating the best food of our lives, so it’s a bit weird that somehow this restaurant we found during our relatively short layover in Hong Kong was in the top 5 meals we had on the whole trip. Had a bunch of stuff we’ve never had before and it was all delicious. Some of the best lion’s mane I’ve ever had (and I have had countless pounds of lion’s mane in the last 5 years). Very glad we found this place. They spoke very limited English but we made it work by pointing at the English menu; everyone else here seemed to be pretty local, which is how you know it’s gonna be good

A Buddhist Vegetarian Chinese restaurant in Wanchai. They have a menu in English with photos of some dishes to help navigate the menu.

Highly recommend this restaurant if you would like some delicious vegan Chinese food in HK! - Edit
*Not giving 5 stars because not fully vegan.
Read moreDelicious vegan food, fantastic selection, incredible experience!
A huge menu with so many options to choose from, it was so exciting to see. Everything was super tasty, the service was great and quick, and the staff were very friendly and helpful despite us not being able to speak any Cantonese!
We had the bbq 'pork' bao buns, crispy 'pork' schnitzel, spring rolls, noodles, and fried rice and it was all YUM. We wanted to order more but we were too full, so we will be back again!
There is some egg in some dishes, so if you don't want egg, make sure you clarify, the staff were very helpful with this. There is also a HK$30 minimum spend per person but you'll want all the dishes so this won't be hard to reach!
I would highly recommend this restaurant if you would like some delicious vegan Chinese food in HK!

Have dinner for 4 nights in a row. - Edit
We spent 4 nights in HK and each night we came to this place for dinner. Near our hotel at Novotel Century Square. The food offers some unique vegetarian dishes. We liked the XO fried noodle, double boiled soup, mushroom tofu pot. The radish cake literally melts in the mouth. And the char siew buns are unique. We also tried an eggplant dish that was just added to their menu. Friday evening is busy and reservations preferred.

This is located very conveniently near Exhibition Hall MTR/Wan Chai in thr not so busy Jaffe street. There are always people eating inside, very calm & relaxed atmosphere. The staff is friendly, no communication issues experienced. The food arrived swiftly. We ordered the set which ia quite a big meal & som.extra dishes. Very tasty & reasonable price.

Love this place - Edit
Sure this is not 5 star dining and the staff's English is pretty much non-existent but for those reviewers who complained about service and language you can just go eat in a 5 star hotel rather than experience something authentic and delicious. The food is absolutely brilliant, proper Cantonese dishes. We discovered it was so good at dinner and then returned the next day for lunch where the lunchtime queue was literally out the door with locals - now that has to tell you something.
Read moreDon't worry about the language barrier, the menu has English and pictures. And in fact we had a lovely waitress, an older lady, who was great with all the customers.

So good - Edit
Some of the best Chinese vegetarian food in Hong Kong, and definitely of a higher quality than most veg places. Busy at lunchtime, may take some time for food to come out. The steamed buns were a little sweet for me, but the pork filling was superb. I loved the monkey head mushroom (or mountain head as the call it) in pepper sauce with broccoli, and the flat noodles in XO sauce were outstanding. Service was good, only a little English spoken. Large menu, dairy and eggs marked, prices reasonable. Will definitely come back.

Vegetarian Chinese food with mock meats - Edit
We loved the food at Green Veggie but the service was a little pushy at times. The mock meats did not appeal to us as we eat almost no meat or fish at all now, however their menu was interesting and we enjoyed looking at the photos! Nice interior and fast 'order to table'.

Extremely rude staff. Foof was okay, they use egg so clarify. They poor you tea thrn add it to the bill. It says it on the menu but doesn't say if they add more water that they will charge you. I don't recommend this place. Go spend your money where your business is valued.

amazing food! - Edit
This is my second visit to Green Veggie. I have to say that both experiences were equally delightful. The portions are big be warned. The menu is easy to read and you have a great selection of food choices. I believe their version of sweet and sour veggie chicken is the best of any I have tasted to date. Full of fruit and veggies. The noodle with veggies was also very good. The sashimi platter is a great choice for starters and makes a really beautiful presentation. The BBQ veggie pork buns are sincerely scary ...as they remind me of the original BBQ pork buns. They nailed the sweet and smoky flavor. The chili mushroom in hot pot also very good. The veggie seafood in curry served in bread bowl is insane good! It's a huge plate of stacked and layered bread with the centers cutout to form a bowl then filled with veggie seafood curry. AMAZING! A definite must try here. Over all great food served in a casual atmosphere.
