To say that I have fallen somewhat for this superb oriental inspired local franchise would be underselling it significantly; I’m completely enamoured. So much so in fact that I have made it my personal (some might say inane) quest to sample the delights at as many of their branches as possible. With quasi-ridiculous reasoning and good old-fashioned feverish gluttony as my driving forces, this outlet was next in line to receive my fawning praise.
Read moreThough, it wouldn’t all be as simple as that. In a vain attempt to needlessly add some jeopardy into the meal, I ordered a number of as-yet-before sampled items. However, before I could bear to see if these newcomers could match the perennial favourites, it was too much of a wretch not to dive headlong into said known winners. As expected, there was nothing but joy to be found here - from the satisfying salinity of the miso soup, to the pillowy perfection of the baos, and from the crisp congee to the creamy green curry, there wasn’t a single misstep.
Now suitably nourished, I was ready to tackle the unknown. In all honesty, even if they were awful, it wouldn’t have damped my spirits in the slightest, but the fact that they were all superb only served to prove that you can’t go wrong here. Of the four delectable debut dishes - the inaari tofu temaki , the dynamite maki, the schezwan sticky rice and the nasi goreng - it was the latter that captivated me the most.
Even though my pilgrimage will go on unabated, I how little doubt that I will return here, and it’s more than likely that I will be tucking into a similar, if not identical, line-up.
