Refreshing change!

Lovely restaurant, nice interior as well as having the option to sit outside and in a tea lounge with an extensive tea menu. There was plenty of vegetarian and vegan options which were clearly colour coded which made the experience so much easier rather than having to keep asking the waiter/waitress! The vine leaves were very yummy and filling as well as the falafel (2 mezzes are probably equivalent to a main). Also heard the do began desserts although I was fair too full! I took my family who are all carnivores and they were happy with the meat options and even tried and complimented the vegan dishes.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Friendly staff , Reasonably priced

Best food and service in Alicante

I don’t even know where to start! I wanted to try out this place because it had plenty of vegan dishes and it blew my mind! It’s the best experience i’ve had eating out in a really long time. The meny is color coded(red=vegan, green=vegetarian, yellow=celiac) and comes with pictures of everything. The dishes are made with authentic lebanese recipes and were so tasty. My friend(originally from Palestine) and I(norwegian) ordered a fatoush salad which was delicious, then I ordered a plate with grilled vegetables; A perfect blend of zucchini, eggplant and butternut squash. For dessert I ordered a really refreshing iced tea and chocolate ice cream.
While ordering desserts my friend decided to try a grape shisha as well and was surpriced to see that the coal actually was re-used wood from the stove in the kitchen(don’t worry it works perfectly fine). The flavour was great and didn’t start to taste burned until the coal was changed for the third time(free coal😁). We were lucky enough to sit next to a lovely person who turned out to be the wife of the owner. She was really happy to talk about everything from the coal to the name Mish Mish(means apricot) and that they have seperate zones in the kitchen to be able to serve gluten free and vegan dishes. Also found out they have powerbanks and free wifi.
We were so pleased with the experience that we sat there until all our friends were done shopping(we were supposed to go shopping too😅) and brought them back there to order more food and some drinks.
The shop is decorated in light and cozy colors. That, the multilingual staff and the great service makes you feel at home. It even has a tea lounge.

I would recommend this place to anyone. Perfect place for a coffee, date, meal with friends, family or collegues.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Color-coded meny (red=vegan, green=vegetarian), Cozy, wifi, toilets, powerbank

Cons: No vegan dessert menu, Light in toilet goes off after 2 minutes💩😂

Opciones veganas

Cons: raciones algo escasas

Falafel and soy dessert

I have been to Mish Mish a couple of times. The staff is friendly and they serve a lot of vegan options. Normally I go for the mezzes, but the last time I went I bought a menu. There was one vegan option as a main dish, a sort of vegetable kebab (veggies grilled on a stick). I have to say I was a bit dissapointed with the main dish and the salad that came with it was floating in apple vinegar, making it too sour. However, this place is perfect for mezze, it has the best falafel I ever tasted and they have a vegan soy dessert which was delicious.

Pros: Amazing falafel, Nice lemon dessert made of soy, Nice and friendly staff

Cons: main vegan dish

Wonderful tapas

Lots of vegan and vegetarian options, with a perfectly simple and easy to understand menu. All the dishes we tried were delicious and the staff were incredibly friendly. Would happily give it 5 stars, but 4 is the maximum available!

absolutely brilliant

All food on the menu labelled with a colour code to show whether it is vegan and vegetarian and also shows all the allergens. The food was absolutely delicious and there's something for everyone to enjoy - my meat eating friends also loved it. Great service and also had two delicious vegan desserts. Decent prices too. Hope to visit again some day :)

Pros: All food labelled, Loads of choice, Delicious food

Wonderful mezze restaurant

We feasted on 5 dishes here and all we're delicious. We had the falafel, musaka, pafrittas especiadas, Falafel, baba ganush, espinacas damasco - highly recommend. The menu was well set out and the vegan options clearly indicated. The restaurant was also very clean and had a beautiful interior.

Its a very cute restaurant in the old town in Alicante. I recommend you to go inside because its very well decorated.
They serve many vegetarian meals (green points) and vegan at least 8-9 options (in red points). Everything is very tasty and i loved the olives the give you at the beginning.

Pros: Friendly staff, Tasty, Good price

Cons: Needs more vegan options

Very Good

Saw this on happycow and stopped in to try it while on our trip. The food is vegetarian friendly, and the space is really nice. Good find for this area if you are veg. Do tell them you are vegan so they can show you which dishes are or can be without yogurt.

Arabic restaurant

The place is some sort of a fancy arabic restaurant with many dips and starters, fresh salads, two soups and some mains. Also serves traditional arabic desserts, which of them two are vegan.

The food is really good and it is totally worth is price, which is not so much: 5€/soup, starter, salad and 10€/main.

Here come the downsides. First, there is only one vegan main dish - grilled vegetables. There are more options labelled as vegan, but contain yoghurt. In fact, fallafel which was about to be served with tahini sauce, came with yoghurt instead.

Pros: price, nice, really good salad

Cons: yoghurt

Dear customer,

We would like to thank you for your review following your recent visit to our restaurant. We view all comments as an opportunity to improve all aspects of our service.

We are very happy to know that you liked the decoration of our restaurant and food and consider us good value for money.

It has been thanks to your comment that we've just finished implementing a foolproof way to ensure all our vegan customers aren't served any of our yoghurt dips and sauces.

In our menu we took care to label all of our dishes that could be made vegan by giving them a small red circle. Essentially the Lebanese cuisine showcases many vegan dishes known as Mezza and some main dishes as vegetarian because of it's yoghurt salad served separately on the side. As a result we change the yoghurt side salad for our pomegranate molasses side salad for all our vegan dishes. This is something that always takes place whenever the customer tell us they are vegan. However, we started to notice that when placing an order customers rightly assumed that if a dish had a vegan legend then it must be vegan and sometimes didn't feel the need to tell us they were vegan. As a result the order was placed a a standard order and not a vegan one.

To solve this, we changed the ordering software used by our waiters. Whenever a possible vegan dish is ordered by a customer our waiter is prompted to ask our customer if that dish is being ordered as vegetarian or vegan. The order cannot be released to the kitchen unless a specific choice is made. Our vegan falafel is served with tahini sauce without yoghurt.

As we stand, we currently have 23 vegan dishes on our menu, with the majority of options available in our Mezza starters section of the menu. Our vegan customers usually order several starters/Mezza in truly Lebanese style. Admittedly we only have 2 mains and 2 desserts but I can assure you that we've already started working on improving on the variety of our vegan choices and we'll soon be introducing other main dishes to our menu.

We would like to take this opportunity to both thank you for your valued feedback and to apologise for our shortcomings. We hope that you can give us another opportunity to show you that one can have a very good vegan culinary experience at our place.
