Its changing menu offers British classics as well fusion meals, with example dishes like mushroom pie, Indian curry, lentil burger, tortilla chips and gucamole, burger with fries, waffles, and a vegan brownie with ice cream. Fully vegan as of Jul 2021. This branch has a spacious open kitchen layout and is in the student quarter of Kings Cross. Narrow wheelchair access. Cashless. Open Mon-Sat 09:00-23:00, Sun 09:00-22:00.

Been here numerous times since 2016. Suffice to say this is one of my go to places in North London, we’ve had lunch, brunch and evening dinners here over the years and loved every minute. The menu changes every now and again with quite unique and inspiring dishes. A must visit restaurant if you are looking for something quite special but informal in the area.

Close to King's Cross train station & many bus & subway stops. Friendly staff. Medium site place, a few seats outside. Often completely overcrowded after 6 p.m., probably go there around 5 p.m. or rsvp on their website. Garlic free menu available 😉 Nice desserts, drinks and cocktail creations. Menu changes. Very good fries. Excellent spices in Indian food. Best vegan restaurant I know worldwide.

I went here for brunch during my weekend in London a few months ago. The place was really big and almost empty. I had the Classic Brunch (15£) and it was really good. The service was really slow when we wanted to leave, and we had to go to the waiter ourselves to pay.

At no point during the several hours of training I provided my colleague with we felt pushed to leave or order anything; we were basically allowed to occupy two tables outside for pretty much the whole of the day!
And what a day to be outside - finally a day of sunshine! 🙏🏼☀️🙏🏼
During the medica training, we decided to have a break and order lunch; my colleague isn’t even vegan and he absolutely adored the food!!!!!!!!!! 🤗

I HAD:
Grilled Artichoke Caesar
(tenderstem broccoli, crispy kale, seeded crackers, capers and crispy rashers)
HE HAD:
Amba Chick’n Kebabs
(mango marinated plant chick’n, saffron courgette orzo, tomato red chilli shatta)
The latter looked so good that I had to get a takeaway portion for my tonight’s dinner! 😜
I am just back from this long day so not tried it yet, but I’m sure it will be delicious!
PS: I have full permission from the lovely waiter who took my phonecall this morning and catered exquisitely for us all day to feature in my posts both here and on the HappyCow 💜🐮💜 his name is Sid and he is a lovely person, who made my first visit at Mildreds become memorable! ☺️ Sid is the gentleman featuring in the photos with me, he and his team provided great service to my colleague and I, very attentive to my food intolerances and always a smile on their faces! 😊

The ever popular and always busy Mildred’s Kings Cross always does the job of providing decent quality and tasty fare. The menus hasn’t changed much so you know what to expect. The current waitress went the extra mile and made my most recent visit most enjoyable.

Wonderful burgers! - Edit
We reserved a table for after BTTF musical’s Sunday matinee, so probably arrived around 6pm. The restaurant was thronging with customers happily chatting and eating.
Read moreThe gentleman who seated us had the most welcoming energy, and very kindly showed us to a quieter corner table, where we could relax after a very long day and enjoy the atmosphere at a happy distance.
The menu is so good it’s hard to choose, but the burger I had did not disappoint, It was delicious and the fries were perfection. (I believe it was the southern fried BBQ burger.)
We ran out of time for dessert as we needed to catch a train so our kind server very obligingly wrapped our desserts to go and we enjoyed them back at the hotel.
Would 100% visit this lovely establishment again. So grateful such a nice place exists, standing out from the crowd of identikit chains, being totally itself.

The food was good. We shared the nachos which were nice and definitely enough for two. Then I got the kiri hodi, which was okay and therefore a bit underwhelming, as I expected my mind to be blown because of all the great reviews. Nothing wrong with it, just not outstanding really. The dessert (Tiramisu) was too sweet for me and didn't quite match my understanding of what a Tiramisu is supposed to taste like.

We didn't reserve a table, so we had to wait, but after abou 45 minutes we got a table and the wait was worth it! The food was delicous. My non-vegan parents couldn't even believe that they were eating vegan meat. They loved it as well. We liked it so much, we went back a second time (this time with a reservation).

Had the Korean bowl with fried rice, kimchi and the most perfect salt and pepper tofu with perfect crispy glaze . Good level of spice too. For desert I had the panna cotta - I was so impressed it was vegan! Loved the chunky sweet pineapple and coconut on side too . Excellent and efficient service considering how busy it was.

We had a great time at Mildred’s Kings Cross, the selection of vegan food and desserts was fabulous and we were able to have a relaxing catch up with family without feeling rushed. Service was friendly and attentive and it was great to have the entire menu to choose from. Good location a short walk from Kings Cross station.

Sad that I wasn't mind blown considering the reviews. Kebab was served cold. Curry and salad were nice. Tiramisu tasted nothing like it, but it made an okay cake like desserts. Non vegan friends had a burger tho and loved it.

I've wanted to go to Mildred's since I first heard about it way back in 2000 or something. But not being from London, the opportunity didn't really present until this week.
Read moreI had the bokkeumbap which was very tasty. My husband had a burger (as he would have preferred us to go to one of the vegan burger places). I thought this was a bit daft of him as I thought the burger wouldn't rival the "junk food" restaurants and he would end up disappointed. Anyway, that was silly because his burger was amazing and stood tall, definitely presented better than some of the junk food specialists.
For dessert I had creme brulee, and my husband had the largest slice of turamisu I have ever seen. We were spoilt for choice with dessert and I could have chosen several! The creme brulee was very good. It was in fact indistinguishable from any dairy creme brulee I've eaten (save for the Caramelised sugar which could have done with being a bit thicker). I did wonder whether it was in fact dairy, and I did have stomach cramps later similar to when I have accidentally consumed dairy before. But I have checked and rechecked and their website says "100% plant based", so I think the desserts are in fact just very good.
Pros: Range of options to suit all palettes, Dessert choices, Nice ambience for a nice meal
Cons: Woukd be more reassuring if they used 'vegan' , Tables very close together
