Vegan restaurant est. 2010. Offers changing menu of different kinds of dishes. Daily lunch menu from Monday to Friday includes either a soup or a dessert. Uses mostly local and seasonal ingredients. No alcohol served but a selection of alcohol-free wine and even champagne. Breakfast served on weekends. Kitchen closes on Mon-Thu at 9:30pm. Companion animal friendly. Open Tue-Thu 17:00-22:00, Fri 11:30-22:30, Sat 10:00-22:30, Sun 10:00-22:00. Kitchen closes at 9.30pm Tue-Thur and 10pm Fri-Sun. Open days vary, so call ahead.

Truly loved this place. Went for brunch on a Saturday morning, shortly after opening time. Had the chickpea omelette and the Kaiserschmarrn, plus hot chocolate and chai latte to drink (see pix). Very relaxed. Busy, but somehow still the atmosphere was very calm. sat outside, which is leafy and beautiful, but inside also looked good. Whole menu to explore. Great - friendly - service.

So awesome, we visited 3 times in 2 days! - Edit
Last month we spent 11 days touring Germany and spent 4 days in Munich. We loved this restaurant so much for breakfast that we came back for desserts that same evening and again for dinner the next day. Excellent options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Main dish portions were large, so I recommend ordering soups, appetizers, cheese tray and then sharing the main course so you can try more items AND save room for dessert! Beautiful casual outdoor dining area available but unfortunately customers do smoke out there. I would encourage the restaurant to change its policy to “no smoking” outside (inside is non-smoking already). Nevertheless, I highly recommend a visit to this restaurant if in the area. If we make it back to Munich in the future, we will certainly return to eat here!

After reading many reviews on Happy Cow we were really excited to try Max Pett, but sadly the food was underwhelming. We started with the French onion soup and then had the schnitzel which came with potato wedges and a salad. The food was not bad, but also was not one of those restaurants you try and immediately want to return to. There was no excitement with the flavors and just seemed very average and overpriced. I’d be curious to try other menu items, but only if I’m in the area or a friend wants to go. Additionally, they do not have any alcoholic beverages on their menu.

My favourite vegan restaurant ever - Edit
I should start by mentioning that I switched from being a Happy Cow-reader-only user to a registered user solely for writing this review. Max Pett has become a recurring highlight in the culinary part of my life, sometimes even to the point where I’m a bit sad that I’m just a (recurring) out-of-towner in Münich.
Read moreWhen I visited the city for the first time my employer placed me near our office in the north of Münich, and I stayed in the same region for the length of the trip. I recall the 3-day stay as somewhat horrific culinary experience, basically living on carbs for three days straight in lack of restaurants with vegan options. For my next visit I requested a more central hotel, and I found my way to Max Pett for the first time; an hour later my uneducated view of Münich as a non-vegan-friendly city was instantly corrected.
This was almost two years ago now, and for each of my recurring trips since, my compulsory visit to Max Pett has been a guaranteed highlight during my stay. The food is simply amazing; their chefs are really good at creating dishes which mixes a lot (for me) quite exotic tastes into a unity of awesomeness.
They rotate their menu every three months or so, during each period focusing on a few select very well-made dishes, ranging from ”substitute” dishes such as their schnitzels (which my non-vegan colleague described as ”... the best schnitzel I’ve ever tasted!”) and beyond burgers, to alternatives entirely without the processed soy/seitan content, such as their recurring ravioli variations or their tasty bowls.
If you go there for a meal, make sure to also try one of their homemade beverages; the Litschicáo drink is my personal favourite.
Finally, the personnel is really friendly and attentive, even during evenings when the place is usually packed.
Thanks Max Pett for all the culinary experiences and, lately, long weekend afternoons of post-meal coffee and mango icecream over a good book or Netflix episode of choice!

Great convenient yet quiet location off the main road. Friendly service and most of all delicious food. Loved the soup, schnitzel and pancake with fruit and snickers ice cream. Good coffee too!

We visited twice during our stay in Munich! My omni husband enjoyed a plant-based vegan schnitzel and pancakes, while I enjoyed delicious creamy ravioli, an acai bowl, and a cappuccino with soy milk. We both enjoyed fresh bread and buttery spreads.

This place is a bit pricey, but worth it for the food quality, and to support it being a fully vegan place!

I ordered three dishes: The warm cheese with bread, the beyond meat burger and Kaiserschmarrn, a dessert. The cheese was a bit boring, but the bread was great as well as the burger and the dessert. I will certainly come again.

Delicious food in a nice atmosphere - Edit
I visited this place in August 2018 and had scrambled eggs and a piece of cake/pie. Both was really good and nicely arranged. It's a nice and clean restaurant with good interior design.

A very pleasant little place. Staff come across as a bit stiff initially but they're actually pretty nice. Food is well prepared, and the daily menu is pretty good value. It's not too far from the city center or the train station, and hence convenient for tourists. Would happily return.

A gem in Munich. I could finally try some typical German food knowing it was fully vegan. Make sure you try some of their delicious homemade ice cream. Often fully booked. Make reservations or arrive early.

I love this place - Edit
I ordered the ravioli and my daughter the schnitzel. Both dishes were excellent. We took the beyond burger back to the hotel for my carnivore 23 y/o son and he liked it. I noticed so many great looking dishes being delivered to the tables around me that I think I need to come back to try a new dish and a dessert here before leaving Munich.

We visited Max Pett for dinner on a Friday night. The restaurant was busy so booking would seem a wise precaution. Service was well-paced and friendly and we both thoroughly enjoyed our mains (ravioli and schnitzel). The 80s music playing in the background was an added bonus!

I had the schnitzel and wow! The side sauces (homemade ketchup remoulade) were great additions too. I was there with two friends who aren’t vegan and they were impressed by the menu (super varied) and of course by the delicious looking cakes at the entrance.
