Delicious vegan food!

I had the schnitzel and wow! The side sauces (homemade ketchup remoulade) were great additions too. I was there with two friends who aren’t vegan and they were impressed by the menu (super varied) and of course by the delicious looking cakes at the entrance.

Pros: Varied menu

Cons: Service a bit slow but it was busy

Surprisingly good vegan restaurant in the middle of Munich

If there’s a dog greeting you at the door, nothing could go wrong. We had a really nice lunch at Max Pett after an early flight to Munich.

Pros: Service, Schnitzel “Wiener Art”, Kaiserschmarrn

A little overrated

The food we had was good, but we had tastier meals that cost less. My husband and I had the schnitzel. The portion was large, but I didn't find the "meat" very good. The coating was crispy, but the texture was a little weird. The service was just okay- our server was friendly, but the service was really slow and they never asked if we wanted dessert or anything else with our meal. Overall, while the meal was okay I found it overrated considering the high reviews of the restaurant and the price.

Cons: Slow Service

Greatest!

When we were on holidays to Europe we spent couple days in Munich, my meat eater father had a dinner here and never noticed that it was a vegan restaurant. He even said it was the best meal he had in Europe so far! Great work you guys! Thank you

Nice

It seems like it's kind of a fancy restaurant, which some people might like. I'm more used to fully vegan places being cosy little cafes.
I only had the ginger soup and that was very tasty.

Pros: Lovely place., Good service.

Cons: They charged 1€ for tap water..

Best schnitzel!

The schnitzel is a must! The homemade date ketchup is delicious and makes the dish.

Staff are accomodating, they managed to squeeze us in even though it was super busy and didn't rush us to finish.

Cozy atmosphere, love the artwork on the walls!

Pros: Tasty traditional german food, Accomodating staff, Good price

My favourite vegan restaurant in Germany

The Max Pett was the first all-vegan restaurant I visited after becoming vegan. They have some German classics like a vegan Schnitzel or Spätzle, but the menues are changing with every season. They're great with cheese (I had the BEST vegan camembert here) and I luvvvvv their cakes, especially the snickers cake. Make sure that you make a reservations on weekends.

Pros: Great vegan food, beautiful location, really nice staff

Cons: none :)

Vegan fine dining

Had dinner there while visiting Munich. Short menu, so easy to choose, although all choices sounded fancy. Went with a ravioli, which would have been a great dish had it not been for way too much salt. It is pet friendly, which was very nice.

Cons: Pricy

Good food, service not so good

We had the Schnitzel and chestnut raviolis. Both dishes were good, but I expected more for the price. The waiter (tattooed guy with glasses) seemed to have a bad attitude from the time we walked in the door. Could be that we didn't speak English. I noticed the German menus were in a nice leather-bound folders while the English versions were tattered papers on a clipboard...sort of typified the vibe we got there. Won't be going back...too many other places with good food, reasonable prices and waiters that appreciate your business.

Pros: OK food

Cons: very pricy, Waiter had a bad attitude

Amazing

Had the house made bread and the ravioli dish and both exceeded my expectations. The ravioli was everything I wanted it to be and I could not have been happier. The meal was amazing from start to finish and ended on a great note with the snickers cake which was recommended to me. Forced my Omni father to go with me and he had nothing but good things to say about the food and atmosphere. 10/10 would recommend.

Pros: All vegan, Excellent quality, Lovely atmosphere

Try the Autumn bow and cold tapasl!

The food was great. They have a lot of meat replacers which don't always go well in my belly but they had an Autumn bowl which was full of veggies and beans and quinoa. The cold tapas selection is amazing too. I loved it!

Nice

High quality and tasting food. On the more expensive side, main dishes are around €16. Lovely atmosphere inside and friendly English speaking Staff. They have English menu and gluten free options. Takes card and is willing to split bill. Reservations are probably a good idea if you are going in the evening

Pros: High quality food

Cons: On the expensive side

No open wishes

Max Pett pretty much has all the dishes vegans fancy: homemade cheeses, soups, bowls, raw food and also traditional German classics like schnitzel or kaiserschmarrn veganised.
I had the oven cheese with bread as a starter and a winter bowl as main. The bowl was huge and very delicious.

Every dishes is unique!

I visited this place twice on my three-day visit in Munich. We love all the menus we ordered and the vegan scramble egg was the winner, and the savoury crepé was also nice! Highly recommended. The dessert, on the other hand, was just ok.

Pros: A lot of options, Very delicious and innovative, Big portion

Cons: Can get quite packed

Oktoberfest at Max Pett

Oktoberfest is a Bavarian festival (the locals call it “die Wiesen”) that commemorates Crown Prince Ludwig’s marriage to Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen in 1810. Since then, the festival is now longer and also starts in September to allow for better weather. Check the calendar if you’re going to visit anytime in September or October, as you might be able to catch some great seasonal food during that time.
Now, Oktoberfest, other than beer and most of the pretzels (always ask and bring your own mustard), is not a very vegan event. There is a lot of horse riding, horse and carriages, roasted rotisserie chickens, fish on a roll and sausage/wurst dishes abound. The Wisen has tents that do actually have a few clearly marked vegan options (mostly fried or mock currywurst), but if you want really awesome seasonal vegan food, take a taxi or train to Max Pett.
The menu is generally always in German. I’m not a big mock meat fan, but I wanted to highlight (and translate) this seasonal Bavarian dish that I think is special.
ZwiebelRostbraten Austrian Roast “Beef” and fried onions, and it’s in a delicious gravy (which has bier in the name, but does not taste like beer*)
"Kartoffelknoedel" potato dumplings.
The kraut is purple cabbage and apple.
The salad is there green salad with an amazing mustardy dressing that I love. (Getting a big salad there is always great). See the photo attached so you can see this dinner option in German, as it will appear on the menu you see at Max Pett and online.
*Note that most cooked dishes using wine or beer the heat cooks off the alcohol. I don’t drink or promote drinking and I love that Max Pett does not either. It makes it even more special during Oktoberfest where there can be a lot of excessive drinking observed. From their website;
“It is important for us to mention that Max von Pettenkofer was chairman of the "Association Against the Injury of Intellectual Beverages". This is one of the reasons why we do not have any alcoholic drinks. It is our philosophy not to offer alcohol to our vegan foods.”
Anyway, remember the great salad dressing. This is important to remember their great salad, because, Max Pett has a vegan snickers cake and vegan snickers ice cream that is EPIC ANYTIME of the year! (Enjoy their list of vegan ice creams!)

Very good vegan restaurant

They have a broad menu and it tastes very good. The service is friendly but you need to bring some time with you because it needs a little bit longer until you get your food served.

Pros: Broad Menu, Friendly Service

Cons: A little slow in the food preparation
