Long wait but amazing food - Edit
Had to wait about an hour for my food, I ordered the special bento surprise menu for 1. Though I was annoyed at the waiting time (wasn’t even that busy), super amazing and unique sushi.

Fantastic restaurant with a lot of dishes to choose from! Absolutely loved the "Edamame" and the "Yakitofi Spieße", as well as the "No more Bacon for Big Daddy"! Easy to reach from Barbarossaplatz and Poststraße, not too expensive and even your non-veggie friends will most likely love it (as did mine!)

Exquisite sushi with a lot of options to choose from. If you're looking for interpretations of more traditional sushi, then this is definitely the place. They offer some variations that are a bit more unusual, but nothing too fancy.

MakiMaki is by far the best vegan sushi restaurant in the state and definitely a must if you happen to be in Cologne.

Friendly atmosphere, bright, simple and open interior design. Close to subway stop "Poststraße" which two stops away from Neumarkt and four from Central Train Station in a non-posh part of town. Young crowd. Food is excellent — as everybody else sez — but it is also expensive (for Germans), so be warned. Not too many seats so better reserve a table.

I highly recommend getting the Korean BBQ Sushi with “tuna”, avocado, kimchi and sesame. It’s so good! I really love this place, I’ve been there two times in a week and I’ll come back again. The only cons I have is the quite little amount of ginger you get and some longer waiting periods, but in the end it’s still worth the wait :)

Great selection of Maki rolls from simple to extravagant and other Sushi dishes in vegan reimagination. Also offers Poke bowls, some desserts and a friendly atmosphere. Would recommend for any visitors to Cologne!

We went here to have a small dinner after gamescom today. It was really crowded, but we were offered 2 seats at the bar. Great, so we could watch the two ladies working.
Read moreWe ordered and got the food really quickly, although a lot of people were in before us. The green tea was good. The soup, edamame and sushi plate was excellent and really fresh! I was impressed of the "lucky no fish" sushi! So similar to tuna - but 100% vegan! So lovely. We paid about 33,50/37€ with tip for 2 persons.
We will come back!

One of my two favorite vegan restaurants in colgne - Edit
Before I started eating vegan, I was a fan of sushi and I couldn't imagine sushi food without fish. When I visit MakiMaki Sushi Green, I learned I was wrong. There are several substitutes for fish like, mushrooms, sweet potato, grilled pepper and many more. I can recommend the edamame and miso soup as starters, the sushi as main course and the sweet sushi as desserts.

The preparation takes some time and if you want have a good time, you should make a reservation. It is not very cheap, but the effort of making good sushi is worth it!

Sushi is one of my favorite foods, so I am very excited about this all vegan place! They have a very big variety of delicious sushi and other awesome dishes like kimchi.
