We came here at lunchtime on Sunday 19 March, excited to try their vegan tapas and maybe their vegan paella. Everything was closed up and there was no sign of life. Perhaps it is best to phone ahead before visiting to check they are operating their posted opening hours.

Good food but rude and unfriendly staff - Edit
The food was good and cheap. Unfortunately I was only able to take one dish because not knowing Spanish very well, I had difficulty understanding the menu. The staff only spoke Valencian and refused Spanish and English. So I had to ask some customers for help in ordering. I don't think it deserves any more visits.

The fact that whole menu is vegan is great! Plus speedy service and authentic atmosphere. This is a traditional Spanish bar, you can only pay in cash and the interior is worn, however prices are cheap and service is fast. Like all of the comments, the staff are unfriendly, we showed so much enthusiasm in their vegan menu and asked about the inspiration and motivation. However all we received was one word answers and rudeness. We can deal with unfriendliness but we thought that this was just plain rude! Overall, a quick and cheap eat but be prepared to deal with moody faces.

As everything was vegan we ordered 4/5 dishes between the two of us, having roughly translated them from the board, the guy who served us didn’t speak any English and we never expect anyone to. The Turia beer on tap is excellent and paired with the dishes we had perfectly. We had 2 types of croquettes (one was mushroom, can’t recall the other); Russian salad an antipasti cold dish with aubergines and patata bravas - all were delicious. You order from the board, no menus and all produced from a tiny kitchen. Don’t expect 5 star table service. This is a local bar serving excellent vegan tapas to a wide group of customers, families, couples, friends. Came to about €25 including drinks. Will be back next time we visit Valencia. Keep an eye on opening times as they don’t open every day.

Incredible bravas and croquettes but poor service - Edit
The bar opened late and the server was very rude when we stuck our heads in to ask if they were open. No indication of how long it would be and she then proceeded to ignore us when she started bringing tables outside and didn’t let us know when she was ready to take our orders. Only realised we could when another group went inside and ordered some drinks.
Read moreThat being said, the bravas were some of the best I’ve ever had and the mushroom croquettes were great. We also had the courgette mussaka (which we didn’t enjoy as it was quite bland) and one of the cocas (which was more like a pizza). The food overall was quite salty.

Vinimos por las buenas críticas de la paella vegana y de las bravas. Viendo las opiniones de la gente, salvo algun excepción que opina lo mismo que nosotros, no sé si ese día salió algo mal o si tenemos un distinto estándar de paella y bravas.
Read moreEs la peor paella vegana que he probado con diferencia. Y no porque esté incomible, por suerte, si no porque no sabía absolutamente a nada. Ni el arroz, ni las setas ni las verduras. Le faltaba sal, limón, un sofrito... Un poco de mimo.
Las bravas también fueron decepcionantes, el alioli estaba muy bueno y las patatas también, pero la salsa brava, que debe ser la estrella del plato, era como comer pimentón a cucharadas.
El precio al menos era bueno, así que solo nos sentimos decepcionados y no estafados.

Would have given only two stars if it wasn't for the delicious patatas bravas that are served with vegan aioli. Food was great but the lady behind the bar was as unhelpful as it gets. Also, it's a bit too expensive for what you actually get.

Otherwise decent dishes but VERY salty and way too greasy even for our junky taste buds. The bravas, croquetas and pita (which was a wrap) also all came with the same mayo which got kinda boring although it's a good sauce. Also slightly disappointed that they do not serve soft drinks.
Read moreThe menu was only written on the blackboard in Catalán, so we had to ask of most things. Luckily the lady was helpful and suggested us dishes (though I'm not sure how helpful they are if you only speak english).
All in all it's not a place I'd go to again or that I'd recommend (except for a beer or the Sunday paella possibly). Do also note that it's cash only!

THE must visit vegan tapas restaurant in Valencia - Edit
We went for dinner and ordered 5 tapas and drinks - but 4 would have been enough! The food was delicious and was served quickly. The service was very friendly! It was lovely to be able to go to what felt like a traditional Spanish tapas restaurant and try lots of different local dishes in vegan form.

Yummy vegan Valencian Paella & friendly staff - Edit
We shared paella for two, which was very yummy & made with different beans, artichokes and fresh garlic. The staff was very friendly and recommended us an event that took place later that day in another district in Valencia. Would definitely recommend this place if you want to taste a typical paella the vegan way!

There is a good selection of vegan Tapas. We had the vegan Paella and it was great. The Paella for two costs 20€. If you want to eat vegan Spanish food, you should definitely come here.

Taberna pequeña y acogedora, 100% vegana con varias tapas que elegir. El menú lo ponen en la pizarra y la comida es casera y está muy buena. Lo que más me gustó fueron las bravas, lo demás estaba también bueno pero las raciones un poco más pequeñas.

The opening hours on happy cow are wrong. On the door it says it opens at 19:30 on Saturdays. We came there at 19:45 and it was closed and dark. Stood in front of it and peeked through hoping to see the menu. The owner came and went in without even looking at us or greeting us. We waited outside to get in as soon as he had finished opening. When he came out to place the outdoor dining furniture, we greeted him. He didn't answer but impatiently gestured us out of the way so he could place his furniture. Maybe next time come to work in time so you're not as stressed. We speak both Spanish and English so a friendly verbal greeting and request would have been appropriate. This guy doesn't seem to be interested in having any customers on top of his regular ones. Too bad because the reviews seemed great but we really didn't feel like being served by someone as impolite and disinterested. Found a great restaurant in the neighbourhood with super friendly staff.

This no frills bar has a full vegan menu of traditional Spanish food. We had the patatas bravas which were crisp, well spiced and accompanied with a creamy dipping sauce. The vegan paella, cooked fresh, is delicious. Well seasoned rice with plenty of vegetables and lovely crispy bits of rice round the edges of the traditional pan it is served in. Lots more to try on the menu. Good beer too.

We really liked the paella and it was a really good price as were the drinks. The eggplant dish was disappointing though -- oily and pretty small serve for €6. The menu is also tough to translate too as it isn't in regular Castellano Spanish, and Google translate didn't seem to know either, making some dishes a mystery. Cash only.
