We visited a couple of times on our stop. Lovely owner, and all vegan or can be made vegan.

Amazing.
We had waffles (very flat) with jam and cream and then chocolate.
Then a
Toasted sandwich- stale bread bread. Not much love.
But vegan!!

Very tasty waffles and cappuccino. Friendly but also a bit stressed staff. Small place. We directly got a table but others had to wait outside. Toilet was not the cleanest but OK.

This is a must for the cat loving vegan or just cat lovers in general.

This cat cafe is very cozy with lovely cats. They walk around and steal the show. The food is good, with everything vegan or can be made vegan. The food is comfy, but not very special, but the cats make up for that.

As a bonus, you can also enjoy delicious vegan or vegetarian breakfast/brunch and coffee 😻 The food was simple but very tasty, and their licorice hot chocolate is next level - you should try it even if you don't like the candy!

A Disappointing Visit Despite the Good Food - Edit
We visited Kattakaffihúsið and unfortunately, we were quite disappointed. The place felt unclean and rundown, which took away from the experience. The drinking glasses were dirty, which was off-putting. While the pesto sandwich I had was tasty, the overall environment was a letdown. It didn't feel welcoming or well-maintained. I don’t think we’ll be returning anytime soon.

I had a horseback riding scheduled so I could only stop by the cat cafe briefly but it was perfect. Next time I'll make sure I stay here a little bit longer.

There are rules posted inside that are in Icelandic and also English that let you know what you can and can't do with the cats.
The cafe said everything on the menu was vegan so I got the sourdough cheese and avocado sandwich. It was delicious. It was like a really yummy grilled cheese. I also got a latte. I asked if they could make everything to-go and they said yes. The food came out quickly and I made it to my pick up on time.
There were plenty of tables for 2 people. Large groups would have a really hard time finding somewhere to sit. There were cats sitting around, but none of them came up to people to be petted. They seemed to be enjoying taking naps and that was perfectly fine with me. I hope they all find their forever homes.
I definitely recommend coming here, even if it is only for a short time.

Fav Vegan cafè in Reykjavik - Edit
Kattakaffid has a lot of Vegan - every dessert is Vegan - and glutee free options. Plus it is not your usually cat cafè where cats are exploited or always exposed to costumer’s will, they can get away and rest.

We had sandwiches and pumpkin lattes that didn’t taste good. The place was CRAMPED and loud, kids chasing cats around. Poor cats. Would never come back here.
