Potatoe wedges and Guinness

The pub is just next to the old pretty cemetery and around the corner of the botanical garden. We had the roasted potatoe wedges, which were good. it was no problem to have the mayo on the side, and get extra ketchup, so everyone at the table was happy 😄 over 7€ for the portion is rather pricey but at least there is an option :)

Pros: potatoe wedges with ketchup , Close to the botanical garden , Traditional pub vibes

Cons: Not a lot of vegan options, Rather expensive

Pitch black pints

This is probably the best bar in Ireland, tourists excepted. Yes you'll get English / Scottish doing this as hole 8 on their 18 hole Irish pub tour. It's well off the tourist track and doesn't have some gobdaw with an acoustic guitar screaming Mumford and sons, so they'll soon be off after one however. Popular with visitors and remains much less commercial than other "Irish" bars that take you on in the town.
What makes it so good? The odd atmosphere of calm. Yes it's next to a mile wide boneyard and in the middle of a settled and sleepy residential area. Also please more bars let's have no music and let people talk eh.
Attached to the lovely bar is a restaurant that basically offers tapas. Looks like Bourdain was here once, but his star is fading as the reality of the right wing griftosphere lot devalues their currency.
Anyway there are vegan options, as well as Guinness being fully vegan at this point, so you can't go wrong.
Food was quite well cooked and cheffy as well as hearty and for Dublin very keenly priced.
Note you will definitely have a sizeable wait before getting a table. Go and book a table then get a pint is the play.
Wonderful mix of the joy of life and the certainty of death adding something to the mood.
It's a vibe.
Plenty of Spanish / Italian patrons as well, for Duolingo eavesdropping purposes.

Pros: Irish, settled and sane, Graveyard , Bar food

Cons: Very busy , Tourists
