The best vegan ramen so far! - Edit
We have definitely improved our dining experience with the help of the Happy Cow App, whilst in Japan.
Read moreI had the vegan tantanmen, whilst my husband had the spicy vegan miso. We both agreed that this is now took the top spot for vegan/vegetarian ramen so far. You order first at the machine and pay by card and wait. There is signage explaining the ordeing and queing system. The staff then prepare to seat you and show you to your seating area before your meal is ready. Don't wait to order, as others did, order then queue.
The ramen was great, with many flavours, veggies, and soya mince. Bibs are available to protect your clothes from spillages, too. We will definitely visit again.
Pros: Ease of ordering via a machine with card payment, The choice, with the option to add to your dish, The depth of flavour of the dishes
Cons: Slightly confusing ordering and queuing system

Great vegan tantanmen - Edit
Loved their vegan tantanmen. Rich and flavorful. Very satisfying. Order extra menma - deep fried bamboo shoots.

Great tip! I noticed that their menma was deep fried and what a pleasant surprise!

Great lunch place - Edit
We were looking for a lunch place after going to Meiji Shrine and found this place by accident. Luckily they have some vegan Ramen options so I decided to get the vegan Miso Ramen and it tasted amazing. I especially loved the soy 'meat' chunks.

Tasty vegan ramen! - Edit
They have a separate vegan section in the menu with three options. You order and pay on a machine. I had the vegan tantanmen and it was so good! The portion size was very generous as well. I really recommend this place!

Incredible vegan ramen - Edit
Maybe the best vegan ramen I've ever had. I got the spicy miso ramen, which had a delicious garlicky broth, topped with veggie meat and strips of some kind of fried (or dehydrated?) root vegetable, which worked really nicely. Huge portion also.

Delicious spicy-ish ramen - Edit
Had a decent amount of vegetarian options. The spicy ramen wasn't really spicy (at least for me😋).

Very good ramen - Edit
Located on B1 „chaos kitchen“ of Shibuya Parco, offers 4 vegan dishes. We had the Tantanmen and Spicy Miso Ramen. Both absolutely delicious with the Tantanman having a slight edge. Busy location

Amazing ramen essential stop for any vegan - Edit
This should be a 5 star place, but Happy Cow will not allow a rating that high for restaurants that also serve meat.
Read moreI had the Tan Tan ramen and it was really tasty, I actually thought that I ordered the real meat version by accident because there was so much flavour and depth to the broth ( there is no meat version tan tan ).

good food bad service - Edit
They had a screen ordering system out the front of the place and asked that we order before we came in to the restaurant. In hindsight it was a bad idea to comply with this.
Read moreWe weren’t very hungry but needed something for dinner so we bought one vegan tantamen (similar to ramen) to share between the two of us. It was 1200 yen ($12.00 AUD). We were about to walk in with our ticket when one of the staff waddled out and was like in broken English “you ordered one thing but there’s two of you” to which I replied “yea we’re going to share, we’re not that hungry”. Then he did a disgusting little chuckle and said “haha yes we don’t do that here, you need to order something else”.
Now if this was a normal restaurant, we would have said “oh, no thanks we’re ok” and politely left. But since we already paid for our food, and thought getting a refund would be too complicated in this foreign country talking to a guy with bad English, we bought a drink for 500 yen ($5.00 AUD). The drink turned out to be tiny. We felt a little bit scammed.
But credit where credit is due, the tantamen was creamy and delicious. However there were a few weird tasting veggies in there. But hey that’s kind of what we signed up for.
In conclusion we tried to go to the izikaya place next door and it was full for the night, and our evening would have been so much better had we gotten in there. The guy we spoke to put a sour taint on the meal.
Pros: Tasty noodles
Cons: Rude staff, Bad non-sharing policy, Rude staff

That’s unfortunate, sharing is caring!

That's very common Japanese etiquette. It's important to understand these things when travelling. When this is the case for me, I at least order a rice or something.

Tasty Tantanmen - Edit
Although there was only one vegan option, it was delicious and made for a nice lunch. The tantanmen has a spicy kick to it, which was a tasty surprise. Would definitely eat this again.

best vegan ramen I had in Tokyo - Edit
it was really freaking good and I wish we went a second time. We went there when we could not get into izakaya Masaka. Honestly I feel like this ramen is probably better. Service was so fast and it was delicious.

Decent back-up plan when you can’t get into Izakaya Masaka ;) - Edit
It’s in the same food court as Izakaya Masaka (B1 in Parco) and it’s not as swamped with all us vegan tourists, so it’s a good backup if you can’t get a seat at the former! There’s a tan tan you can order with or without soup. It’s good, definitely on the rich/heavy side!

the reviews are true!! - Edit
this ramen was sooo good, best i’ve had so far in Japan. The broth was creamy and flavourful and stuck to the noodles. There are various toppings which give it many textures and more flavours. I got mine with extra menma and it was amazing and a pretty big portion. Also you’re probably not gonna have to queue like all the other places in the parco food court.

Insane. The best veggie ramen I’ve ever had. Rich, peanut-y broth, perfect noodles, just delicious. So savory and filling. You order on the kiosk and it’s marked Vegan Tan Tan Ramen. I’ll be dreaming of this ramen.
