Great diversity and quality buffet - Edit
Great decoration, many options in buffet, cold and hot ones.
Read moreGood quality over price, unlimited buffet.
Very turistical place, doesn't have menu for drinks, only listed somewhere in a wall, so careful with the high prices for drinks.
The food is good for the price

Too expensive for what you get - Edit
I previously came here almost religiously whenever I found myself in Cascais because it had vegan options and a great selection of hummus, baba, and salads in the buffet.
Read moreHOWEVER, I went there today after not being there for a few years and (although they opened a lovely larger restaurant next door with wonderful staff ) all I got for my EUR 12.90 lunch buffet was non-legume veggies (lovely selection, but seriously....no proteins?). I had to pay extra for hummus (protein). Besides the salad with cheese (which I don't eat), there were no strong vegan proteins (like chick peas, hummus or beans) in the buffet. I love the salads and smiles, but frankly, I felt royally screwed by the prices when I paid in the end.
TO THE RESTAURANT: Don't charge so much for your buffet and then charge people extra for proteins...that's just wrong! I miss your previous format when the restaurant was in the smaller location next door: all you could eat hummus, chickpeas and salad for EUR 9.00 during lunch or dinner. Now, the selection and flavours are bland, and you're just taking advantage.
This place used to be amazing, but now, it's DEFINITELY not worth it.

amazing buffet salad selection - Edit
Lots of different salads to eat as much as you like for one set cost . A set of 3 hot taster bowls each day but sadly this time one contained Parmesan cheese which in my experience is never vegetarian so we avoid the hot food now and just carefully select the salads that are tasty and beautifully presented.

Did not live up to the hype - Edit
House of Wonders is a great place if you like fresh salads and are on a low/no salt diet; however, I was not at all impressed by the overall taste of the different dishes.
Read moreIt does not please me to leave anything but positive reviews for the places I have eaten, but I simply cannot allow House of Wonders to get away with selling (admittedly pleasing to the eye) bland food.
Their heart is in the right place, and maybe with a few years or slight change of direction they may hit the right button, but for now...
Pros: Central, Nice ambience
Cons: Expensive, Not nice food

Buffet, juices and desserts with a view - Edit
Love the food and the vibe. Great juices and desserts (some without sugar), good staff and killer buffet or you can simply enjoy a combo platter in the rooftop with an amazing view over Cascais. Sometimes the buffet could have more diversity.

Different expectations we suppose - Edit
Our expectations were so high after reading all the review here and we longed for a high quality, interesting dinner with the family during our holiday. Seldom have we been so let down by the experience. Dont take me wrong, the staff was great and very attentative and their intention is great. But really, it felt like "Fresh from the vegan 70s". A very bland tasting un-innovative buffé where no flavours stuck out. A tasting menu where unseasoned boiled leek and tomatosauce is the highlight is not really what we expected. Yes, food was ok, bland, very pricey for what it was, and definitely not of 2018 expectations . Nice wine though!

Excellent lunch - Edit
Beautiful place in centre of Cascais, with rooftop facility. Friendly staff.
Read moreNew restaurant has a buffet, the other side plates, both are delicious and beautiful colours.
Downstairs is a patisserie with a lot of desert choices.
Warm and cold plate, shared with my wife. Delicious choice of vegetables with different tastes. Nice choice of fresh homemade juices. The parfaits are a must (raw dessert) with choices of cappuccino, blueberries and lime.
Pros: Lot of choice, Vegan as well (lacto)vegetarian
Cons: none

Lovely lunch - Edit
We ate in the new restaurant section opposite the old building (down the steps) and it was lush. All veggie, one of the hot meals was vegan and most of the buffet dishes too. Just a couple of things had a non vegan sauce but were easily identified by the helpful & charming staff. Come when you're hungry because there's a lot to eat with the buffet plates! Also the juices are delicious.

Really tasty food, I loved everything so much, I ate so much I had to roll out of there. And this is even tho I'm not a big fan of parsley and is was parsley in a lot of the food. Perderam o Brio - Edit

Cosy soul-warming lunch - Edit
You can have the "all you can eat" menu or a plate to serve yourself just once. I had te second one and it was more than enough! I also had the spinach/pinaple/ginger juice which was spicy and delicious! The food was savory and there were many different dishes for every taste! The only thing at fault is that there weren't many protein-rich dishes... in the end it wasn't too cheap but I think the price was fair. Also, this restaurant has a very chill environment and nice staff. Do recommend!

one of best but loosing qualities - Edit
It was one of my favourites. There's a buffet on the lowest floor, and pre-made plates (like two choices) that you can have on the roof or the gallery. Great desearts and juices. Problem is it used to have more quality and variety (both buffet and pre-maid plates) and seems like they are getting relaxed wich is not admittable for the high prices they have. You don't want to pay much for salad. They used to have more original stuff. Also getting a little annoying with the rules..you must ask on the 1st floor for the food, on the second for drinks..then come back to 1st or go to the roof to eat.. they dont like you walking around to see the place first..and last time took way too long to bring the food.

Food Lovers Paradise - Edit
Upon crossing the doorstep into the House of Wonders we enter a warm athmosphere with colourful, earthy tones.
Read moreA welcoming chat with founder Anneke teaches us that her team consists of over a dozen different nationalities. This multicultural variety, and a passion for experimental cooking is the basis of creating the dishes that are served here on a daily basis.
We go for the combo of the warm dish, which consists of a trio of small hot dishes, and the buffet option offering a wide choice of cold platters and salads. A range of unique tastes, combining mediterreanian influences, 'forgotten vegetables' and exotic grains deliver a truly sensational, diverse dining experience.
The dessert that follows is a selection of raw vegan parfaits that would even convince the most skeptical food lover. Creamy, sweet and all natural.
House of Wonders earned it's name, and comes highly recommended!
Pros: Excellent food, Very Friendly Staff, Locally produced food
Cons: None!

Very fresh and tasteful food - Edit
We tried the "share" version with a plate with small portions of the 4 hot plates (there is no option to have big portions of any of the hot plates) and than free access to the cold plates. We requested the vegan version for all the hot plates, since 3 of them where lacto-vegetarian. All of them where very tasteful. The cold buffet was also very nice and fresh. The system is a bit complicated but the staff will have the patience to go through it with you.
Read morePros: Food is excellent and very fresh., Very friendly staff., They have vegan versions of all the hot plates.

Lovely - Edit
I came here based on the previous reviews and I have to confirm all positive written. Beautiful restaurant, we sat on the roof terrace enjoying the lovely view over Cascais. Delicious juices and a plate full of vegan fingerfood. Admitted, there were only a few plates to choose from, but the plates have lots of variety in itself. European prices, not cheap, but for me it was worth the good time I had here.
