Excellent Experience - lunch only available on Fri/Sat (updated info) - Edit
We wanted to update information for other Happycow users about lunch availability at this place - I spoke to owner and lunch is only available on Fridays and Saturdays (she didn't specify the hours). We didn't know this so after a long set of touring in Nara on 14 Dec (which is highly recommended), we arrived and found lunch was not possible. Since we came on a Sunday, only drinks and vegan cake was on offer. The ginger foot bath was wonderful after our long walking so we highly recommend it and the tea and cake was enjoyable and tasty. So, this is a great option for a pit-stop for the ginger bath and a tea and cake break but don't expect lunch except on the days mentioned above.

Very tiny and cosy cake shop with main focus on ginger and herbal footbath.

You can also order a ginger or herbal footbath which is provided in a wooden bucket. The bath is refreshing and great for tired legs after all the walking. The bath came with a little shot of ginger sirup. The lady who runs the shop is super lovely and speaks a bit of english, but they have an English menu.
The way to the bathroom also needs checking as you will need to walk past a beautiful little Japanese back garden which belongs to the house.
Great place to relax and have a little pick me up.

Whilst there is only one food option of a rice set. Each part was delicious, the rice ball had a lovely flavour.
Read moreWe came with our two children so ordered them a rice set to share, when the food came, the server/chef, had kindly plated them smallwr portions so they could have their own tray.

The perfect place to get cozy after visiting the park nearby! The meal was delicious, staff is super friendly and the footpath is just a super unique concept!
