Nice location, could be great, inedible avocados - Edit
Cute location, nice vibe. Went for Sunday brunch. Friend's French toast was nice. My avocado egg toast... the tofu scramble excellent, the avocados the hardest and most inedible I've ever had in my life. Frankly embarrassing they would ever serve that to a customer.
Read moreService arrogant, and absent. No follow-up to see if there was an issue with the food, no-one to ask. Service vibe was set when I was told the burger sausage was unavailable but I could have the beef burger instead, and when I asked what brand it was, I was told it's a trade secret. It could only be one of three secrets. So idiotic I chose the avocado instead, much to my regret.
It's a pity really. I've had Wholesome Junkies several times over the years. I'd tried to contact them to do my wedding next year via their website, via their Instagram, and via a mutual friend. They never replied so they lost almost £6,000 of business to another vegan caterer. But given the unacceptable avocado today, maybe I dodged a bullet after all.
Pros: French toast great, Beautiful presentation, Great vibe at the location
Cons: Unacceptable inedible avocado, Inattentive service

Great venue and menu - Edit
First time visiting Manchester and saw this has recently opened. The venue is very cool and has a nice vibe. Marked down as the food portions were quite small for the prices, and whilst the burger was nice, it wasn't top drawer.

Great food and drinks - Edit
Have followed wholesome junkies for years and they never disappoint on food quality and quantity and the staff are so friendly. Hinterland is such a wonderful, chilled out bar restaurant, with lots of hot and cold drinks and I love trying different alcohol free drinks.

Ok burgers - Edit
I've heard wonderful things about Wholefood Junkies many many times but I'm not sure what the whole fuss is about. The burgers are ok and nicely presented.

Delicious food in a cool bar - Edit
This is a cool basement bar which serves alcohol free drinks and food from Wholesome Junkies. I visited Wholesome Junkies at their previous location and the food was excellent, and it was no different here!
Read moreAs with their previous location they have a creative menu with interesting dishes. We went for the Kimchi Cheese Tots, Classic Mac 'N' Cheese, Korean Burger, two Mushroom Wings and a Truffle Mayo dip.
We started with the mushroom wings and they were excellent! The batter was super crispy and flavoursome, and they went really nicely with the truffle mayo which had a strong truffle flavour. The classic Mac 'n' cheese was also very tasty with lots of sauce and a nice big portion size. The kimchi cheese tots were also so good with lots of sauce, delicious kimchi, and nice crispy, crunchy tots. Lastly the burger was also very tasty with a delicious, soft brioche bun and tasty fillings, really good!
They also had a selection of tasty looking cakes and a large selection of alcohol free drinks, although we didn't try either of these.
They also had a small shop area with an Oatly soft serve machine, and a selection of merch and snacks such as crisps and chocolate bars.
We purchased a packet of the Torres truffle crisps which are really good, and five Turkish delight in rose, lemon, apple and orange flavour. The Turkish delight had a really nice texture and was in nice big chunks. I don't feel like the lemon, apple and orange had very strong flavours and I couldn't really tell them apart, but the rose was really good!
Pros: Delicious food from Wholesome Junkies, Large selection of alcohol free drinks, Selection of snacks and cakes

Amazing 🥰 - Edit

Loved it! - Edit
I'm already a massive fan of Wholesome Junkies but have never been to Hinterland before. It's a lovely little venue and cool that it's alcohol free as well.
Read moreWe both chose the Korean burger as it was the only one that came with the crispy fried oyster mushroom burger, which is the OG and best burger they do! We also shared the Kimchi cheese tots. Both were tremendous. The cheese on the tots was just what was missing from my life!
They have a good selection of vegan cakes available too but didn't have cake on this occasion (a rarity for me!) They serve Oatly with the coffees.
Hopefully Wholesome Junkies are there permanently as they have had a few different venues in my time of being obsessed with them!
