Delicious mocktails, junk foods - Edit
I had two mocktails and they were both delicious, although the portions were tiny. I liked the vibe of the place, including the costumers- unassuming, all ages, all sizes, all walks of life. I just wish that the cocktails were larger and that at least one option was not fried or oily. Don’t get me wrong, those are great too, but my body wasn’t in the mood for burgers. There was one dish with charred vegetables, but it was unfortunately covered in chili oil.

Cozy place, but too overpriced - Edit
I rarely give 4 stars to vegan restaurants. The place is cozy and has a nice atmosphere, but unfortunately it’s also very loud because the staff talk quite loudly with guests and among themselves. The burgers taste great, but they are very expensive, especially considering they don’t come with fries. The plates are also very small, which makes it difficult to eat the burgers comfortably. Providing only one very thin napkin per guest doesn’t feel enough.
Read moreThe restroom is extremely narrow and hard to access. Overall, the food is tasty, but the overall experience could be improved.

A great place to eat or just hang out - Edit
Lovely atmosphere for socialising without alcohol, pleasant staff, great food if the kitchen is open (all vegan). One of my favourite spots in Manchester.

Amazing - Edit
The food was so good and prepared very quickly. The aesthetic of the place was also spot on. The food itself was priced well and you get good portions for what you pay.

A Sobering Experience! - Edit
Great place with a cosy, relaxing atmosphere and wide variety of food and drinks.
Read moreWe tried a few of their alcohol free drinks with our wholesome junkies food (see my review) and thoroughly enjoyed the craft beers, but not the red wine, which was vinegary.
We also had a sticky toffee biscoff and pecan slice, which were excellent. Staff were really friendly and we would definitely return.

Underwhelming - Edit
We got the breakfast buns which were very small and came to £25 for two , we were disappointed in how small they were and it said it was a ‘sausage patty’ but we got standard sausages inside of it. Won’t be back again for the price and portion size. Aladdin’s on the corner had more value for money we wish we seen it on the way here.

My partner said the breakfast burger was the most incredible fulfilling experience of her life 🤣🥲 and she usually skips breakfast food. It really was amazing, so tasty and the drinks were really good too (dark hot choc and black coffee) lovely atmosphere and staff!

Hinterland Alcohol-Free Bar and Cafe - Edit
Great ambiance, nice staff, and delicious food. We loved the Korean tofu poppers, pigs in a blanket, and the original burger. The ramen was good, but we just liked the other things better.

Love the atmosphere - Edit
I'm glad I got the time to visit here in my whistle-stop trip to Manchester. Low lighting, lots of green and brown and orange and felt quite autumnal, and low tables with what looked like soft comfortable seats to chill. If I was local I'd definitely be back in soon.

A bit dissapointed - Edit
So I waited about 40mins and paid 16£ for a small burger with no sides and a small juice. It was tasty but not really worth the wait or the money.

Nice location, could be great, inedible avocados - Edit
Cute location, nice vibe. Went for Sunday brunch. Friend's French toast was nice. My avocado egg toast... the tofu scramble excellent, the avocados the hardest and most inedible I've ever had in my life. Frankly embarrassing they would ever serve that to a customer.
Read moreService arrogant, and absent. No follow-up to see if there was an issue with the food, no-one to ask. Service vibe was set when I was told the burger sausage was unavailable but I could have the beef burger instead, and when I asked what brand it was, I was told it's a trade secret. It could only be one of three secrets. So idiotic I chose the avocado instead, much to my regret.
It's a pity really. I've had Wholesome Junkies several times over the years. I'd tried to contact them to do my wedding next year via their website, via their Instagram, and via a mutual friend. They never replied so they lost almost £6,000 of business to another vegan caterer. But given the unacceptable avocado today, maybe I dodged a bullet after all.
Pros: French toast great, Beautiful presentation, Great vibe at the location
Cons: Unacceptable inedible avocado, Inattentive service
