Uns hat besonders gefallen, dass man sich beim Buffet nirgends nachfragen musste, was vegan ist, da alles vegan ist. Es wurde regelmäßig aufgefüllt und neue Gerichte hinzugefügt. Es gab viel Auswahl an herzhaften wie an süßen Speisen, alle lecker!

Wir waren für ein frühes Abendessen um 17.30 Uhr zum Buffet dort. Es war alles gut und sehr lecker: Vom Nudelsalat bis zur Rohkost, vom warmen Gemüse bis zu den Röstkartoffeln, das rote Chili und das helle Curry, die Mangocreme und der Kuchen - die Auswahl war groß. Unsere Favoriten: Knödel mit Rotkraut und das Kokoscurry 💕. Das Team ist sehr freundlich und zurückhaltend. Immer gern wieder 🫶

Wir waren heute auf einem frühen Abendessen um 17.00 uhr im Hiller. Die Gerichte des Buffets kamen leider erst nach und nach, aber das passiert sicher seltener, wenn mensch z.B. um 18 uhr kommen würde. Das Essen war lecker und neben Hauptgerichten, gab es Salate, Suppe und Samosa. Ich hatte am meisten Freude an den gebratenen Kartoffelstücken und dem knoblauchigem Nudelsalat.

First of all: This is one of the oldest vegetarian/vegan places in Germany which makes it worth it to visit anyway.
Read moreI've been here a few times already and it's been very delicious most of the time! There's a buffet option which I once had and I wasn't entirely happy with that one as there's often food missing. Also there could be some more variety there, especially in protein parts of the meal.
But the a la carte options are sooooo good. A tiny bit expensive but definitely worth the price. Really delicious and I would recommend those to everyone over the buffet unless you really want to eat until you burst.
So, some small downsides but overall great food and that's what a restaurant is for.
And nice soft background music, usually some sort of smooth jazz.

Einfach nur toll! - Edit
Eigentlich habe ich nur wegen dem Hiller ein zwischenstop in Hannover gemacht, und es hat sich auch gelohnt. Schon wegen der Geschichte wäre es empfehlenswert, aber die nette Bedienung, das angenehme Ambiente und das leckere Essen verdienen auch 5 Sterne. Ich hatte das Mittags-Buffet, zum korrekten Preis. Wünsche ihnen weitere erfolgreiche Jahrzente!

Ergänzung Dezember 2024:
Wir zweimal zum veganen Buffet dort.
Einmal zu Mittag und einmal zum Abendessen.
Der Koch/Besitzer ist sympathisch und hat die glutenfreien Optionen erklärt. Es gab viel Auswahl in glutenfreier Variante.

Hiller is worth a visit for its history alone. Started out in 1955 as Germany's first vegetarian restaurant and has since become fully vegan and gained a cooking school and an activist hub.
Read moreAs for the food, this is where the "devisive" part comes in. Going through the reviews here, I noticed how a lot of people loved the food, others not so much. So I guess, you'll just have to try and see whether you like what they put on your plate.
Me, personally: Give me a buffet and I'll combine the heck out of what I am given. Though I should probably try some of the menu-items, too, at some point and then perhaps update this review.
I also have to agree with the people who pointed out that the staff seems a bit overwhelmed at times. It is not the biggest issue when you can refill food from the buffet by yourself, but I can see how it would be problematic when you're relying on your waiter to bring you everything.
I certainly recommend coming here once and if you like it, come again.

Mein Mann hatte das Pfeffer-Steak mit Gratin und war sehr begeistert. Unser Sohn hatte die Vegane Ente. Auch ihm schmeckte es gut.
Wir waren sehr zufrieden und Papp satt danach.
🫤Obwohl nichts los war, hat der nette Herr nicht nochmal beim Essen gefragt ob alles in Ordnung ist. Erst als wir bereits an die Theke kamen, zum bezahlen, fragte er.

They offer an afternoon and evening buffet - this was the afternoon buffet (12-3pm)! In the afternoon it’s 15€, after 5pm (dinner time) it increases to 22.50€, and is all you can eat. There are always 9 main course components, 6 salads, 1 soup and 3 desserts. Everything was delicious.
