A Must for Bread Lovers 🍞 - Edit
This place was absolutely delicious. It’s located on the top floor of an upscale mall, and the atmosphere feels cozy, and inviting. You have to try the pull-apart sourdough bread — it’s seriously life-changing and one of the highlights of the meal. The other standout dish was the risotto, which was rich and flavorful. The burger wasn’t my favorite, but the complimentary raisin-nut bread they serve at the beginning was so good that I could’ve eaten a whole loaf. Overall, a great experience and definitely worth visiting.

Best Vegan Spot in Taiwán - Edit
Sure it’s a little pricey but after a solid week of nothing but rice and noodles and rice and noodles this place was a Godsend. Everything was delicious! The garlic bread was divine. Crunch wrap was bomb. Salmon was insane. Pancakes were perfect. Staff was excellent. So thankful for this place. Fresh baked bread available for takeout as well. So good!

Portions are really big…many options.

I ordered a sandwich and it was way too big that I couldn’t manage to finish it and have to pack the rest…plus, even until dinner time I’m still feeling so full…

Ok - Edit
The food is western style. I had the Mac and cheese and the tofu dish. They were not my favorite.
Read moreI loved their garlic breads.
I also had their deserts but they are all too sweet for me.
With that said, it’s a great place to eat. But their foods are not to my preference.
Pros: The mood, The staff , The location
Cons: Flavor profile , Deserts are too sweet

Pricy, tasty, unfortunately a lot sold out already - Edit
We ordered the spicy tex mex burger, the roasted cauliflower, and a key lime pie.
Read moreThe burger was very good, the lime pie was not bad.
The cauliflower dish we probably wouldn't order again. It came with creme fraiche and two deep fried buns, the buns were pretty tasteless, apparently neither salt nor sugar was added, and the creme, while not having the typical sour taste, also had a distinct coconut flavor. We wouldn't order it again because of the taste, but because we were not quite sure how the dish was supposed to be eaten (separetly, as a DIY burger, or if the buns were only supposed to balance the rather spicy cauliflower - the waitress pointed out that they are hot several times before ordering though).
Finally, reason for the one star deduction: we came here on a Sunday evening at 5.50pm, yet all smoothies, one of the speciality dishes, and two of the deserts were already sold out. And they seemed to have forgotten about our desert, as we had to remind them and even then it took another ten minutes before we got it (considering that the lime key pie seems to have come out straight of the freezer, it shouldn't take that long to prepare).
Pros: Large menu, many tempting options
Cons: Pricy , Many items sold out

On the pricier side for Taipei but worth it - Edit
The menu has so many things ranging from burritos, to ramen, rissotos, pastas, etc. I tried the tofu skewers, hummus plate, mushroom risotto, and the pancakes and they were all delicious. Definitely on the pricier side but that is a given since there are many high end luxury designer stores in and around the area of the restaurant. Would still make the trek here again nevertheless.

Everything is vegan here hurrah - Edit
Herbivore A4信義店 Vegan料理 is their name, they located inside a department store at second floor, I would totally try the turnip cake😄because traditional turnip cake is never vegan but contains shrimp, it’s always the taro cake is vegetarian style, but this store has vegan turnip cake😄super recommended it😄

Yeah it’s good! - Edit
My last day in Taipei, and Happy Cow once again saves the day. Great vegan restaurant nestled in a shopping mall. The menu is broad and all selections were fantastic. As a starter we had the satay and brussels sprouts. for main course we shared mushroom risotto and spaghetti. Only issue was they brought out the main courses before the appetizers, but we rolled with it. Enjoy!

Awesome international vegan place - Edit
While this was not my first choice after having read a number of not-so-glowing reviews here, it was the only Taipei top oick that was open 3 days after the 2024 Chinese New Year.
Read moreHaving gone there, I was definitely happy for having made that choice, as all the dishes we sampled were delicious. Some reviewers questioned whether this place qualifies as « fine dining », and I wonder why. Yes, they do serve burgers, but all their dishes are creative, of high quality, delicious, reasonably healthy, and the staff is attentive. What more can you ask for?
(Postscript: The espresso after lunch was the only thing not convincing, took very long, was cold & sour)
Updated from previous review on 2024-02-12
Pros: Delicious food, Wide range of dishes, Nice ambiance
Cons: Not cheap but IMO reasonable , Espresso was not convincing, sour, cold

Okay - Edit
Typical westernised vegan food located in a shopping mall. Nice enough food but overpriced for what it is.
Read moreI had a pesto sandwich which was massive - far bigger than it needs to be, and came with fries. My main criticism of this was the unnecessary balsamic glaze which just made it really difficult and messy to eat.

I did not have high expectations for this place after reading some reviews, but honestly the food was tasty, the service was great and I would 100% recommend people to eat here even if it is a bit more expensive

Herbivore i would describe as casual fine dining. High quality food but not too fancy. For a one person dinner you can count around 30 USD, so price wise on the highend side.

Not bad - Edit
I really wouldn't call this "fine dining," but the food was good. The menu is huge and includes just about every kind of cuisine on earth. It took me a while to decide what I wanted, and then it turned out they didn't have that dish on that day, so it was back to work... in the end I got the curry noodle soup with coconut milk. The portion was very large and it was tasty.
Read moreThey have a lot of interesting drink options as well.
I would have liked to try a dessert, but couldn't get the staff's attention (even though the place was almost empty) so I eventually gave up.
Pros: Good food , Nice presentation , Pleasant atmosphere
Cons: Inattentive service , The menu is a bit too much

Pretty good food but pretty expensive prices too - Edit
Herbivore’s food and service were much better before the PANDEMIC. I went back for the first time after the pandemic. The pita bread was kinda soggy, and I couldn’t believe it when they asked us to pay for the extra pickled chillies. Of course we could Oxford to pay. It was only $30NT, not even $1 US dollar. But the stingy image of the restaurant is stuck in my mind because of that.

Food is really good and service too, waiters are very friendly and flexible to adjust your order. You need time to read through their menu as they have lots of options!!
Read moreI wish I asked to substitute rice with veggies in the Buddha bowl, but I didn’t know it’ll come with rice besides the quinoa, but all in all I really LOVE everything we ordered [curry Buddha bowl with sweet potatoes: I had a sesame dressing instead of the peanut one, BBQ Vurger, Mushroom Lentil Salad and toasted Brussels sprouts]
It was my husband’s birthday so they treated him with a super yummy dessert! 😊
Will definitely go there again!

Good not great - Edit
Lots options, bit expensive. Had the garlic bread entre, was very good, but big pieces of garlic ruined it. Meal came afterwards, was very average, didn't really justify the price. It's good, but considering the options around Taipei, I'd suggest looking elsewhere first. Otherwise it does the job for a bigger bill

Decent but expensive - Edit
The restaurant is inside the A4 building on the 3rd floor. No view outside but you can watch the luxury brand shops around.
Read moreIt's very expensive, i've uploaded the menu. Water is free. One dish per person is a must. The menu is very extensive. I got the buddha bowl which arrived after like 5mins. There was a lot of red quinoa, red rice, some chickpeas and sweet potato in it. So it was veeery filling, almost couldn't finish. I wished there were more toppings and less carbs. The curry-peanut sauce is quite spicy. The toppings lacked in flavour, were not salty enough. The key lime pie was very cold, so perfect for digestion. Not very sweet.
All in all i liked it, but it was not amazing.
Pros: Maaaany options
Cons: Expensive
