Excellent - Edit
Food is incredibly good and when they say large portions, they mean large!! I couldn’t finish it. The food has so much flavour and is cooked so well. The staff are lovely too. No issues at all.

Food for the soul!!!! - Edit
Wow this place is unbelievable! I got the ‘small plate’ which consisted of rice, daal and choice of three extras - definitely not small. So satisfying and delicious. No waiting time, friendly staff and great value for money.

Great! - Edit
Delicious Indian food. One can choose from different sized plates that include rice, dal and several side dishes. The portions are generous, it's a good deal overall. The staff can tell which options are vegan.

Delicious, generous and cheap - Edit
Go there hungry or you'll come back with leftover! The staff was really friendly all smiling ☺️ the small plate is actually huge!! And it is cheap. The food was savory, spicy just enough (for me who don't like spicy food) It looks really popular as there was a line up at the counter as I was leaving around 18h30. Go there if you wanna have a comfort meal while in Dublin!

Best veggie/vegan food in Dublin - Edit
Absolutely delicious vegan options and lots of variety. We got large plates meaning rice plus daal, tofu curry, potato curry, bean mix, vegetable gratin. Almost all the food was vegan - with two veggie food things, both of which had a (delicious) vegan equivalent. (Lassi only veggie sadly.)
Read moreVery generous portion sizes.
Best food we've had in Dublin on our trip so far - and the best vegan tofu curry I've ever had. Friendly service too.
Really recommend.

Amazing value for money - Edit
Really glad to have stopped in here. Huge, heaping plate of food for less than 11€. Didn’t taste too oily or unhealthy - lots of veggies, tofu, and brown rice. Nothing too fancy, but really hit the spot, and the staff was very friendly. Would definitely come here again!

As good as ever - Edit
I used to eat here whenever I visited Dublin before the pandemic and I’m so glad to find that this place has survived. I ordered a “small” plate which is a good-sized meal, and it was as delicious and filling as ever.

Great experience! - Edit
Fast service and great selection of food. I ordered a full plate which was only €15, it was a selection of 5 types of mains (None were labelled so I didn't know what each dish was, but was assured they were all vegan).
Read moreI struggled to finish the portion I ordered and I was starving before ordering. Each dish was really tasty and they all worked well together, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend govinda's to anyone.
The main con that I would like to mention is that the toilets are down a set of stairs with no elevator access, which would mean they are completely inaccessible for people with certain disabilities.
Edit: Went back for takeaway and got the large plate option, it was basically the same size as the plate I got before. The staff were very friendly and really packed the container full, so the portion size was great after a day of travelling.
We had a trip to Dublin yesterday and had to end it on a good note so me and GC got a large tray each for takeaway and spotted some vegan deserts, we got the apple pie and the banoffee. The apple pie was tasty but the banoffee was my favourite by far, I would definitely get it again. And the same as last time staff was lovely and food was amazing, I wish they were available were I live so I could make excuses to eat there regularly.

Generous portions! - Edit
I was surprised I hadn't reviewed this place previously, because I've been here a couple of times before. They tend to be a bit cheaper than other restaurants, and their portions are generous. I had a "small plate", but it was still lots of good food. Don't be shy to sit with strangers, though, they tend to be very busy, especially around lunch time.

Disappointing - Edit
Restaurant reopens at 5pm for dinner and we got there about 5:30pm and everything looked old like it was just leftovers. On their website it said on Wednesdays they only serve vegan food - this was not the case and there were just a few vegan options. I chose not to eat since it looked old - my bf said it was just ok.

Filling, Cheap and Delicious - Edit
This was one of the most filling dishes I have ever eaten. I got the large plate (€15 at the time of this review - April 2023) which gives you 5 items. I asked for an all vegan selection of food and the server started piling food onto the plate.
Read moreUnfortunately I have no idea what any of it was, apart from the shepherd's pie and two types of rice, but it was all delicious and each item tasted completely different from the rest.
It was incredibly filling, I struggled to eat the last 25% of it, and I eat a lot so I was very surprised! I definitely plan on eating here again in the future.
The cons is that everything is piled on top of each other on the plate, so if you have sensory issues and need your food to not touch other foods then you'd need to ask if you could get each portion on separate plates (I have this issue with some foods, but not curries so I wasn't effected by this, but others may be). It was very warm and stuffy, some fresh air would have been nice. I would have liked to have been told what each menu item was as I love discovering, and learning about, new foods. And, of course, I would prefer if the restaurant was fully vegan. But these cons are not enough to drop my rating from 5 stars.
Edit: I went back today to get some food to bring back on the train home. I got a large takeaway meal and it was amazing value at €9.95. they absolutely STUFFED the container. I reheated it when I got home and it was delicious. If you want great value for money then this is the place to go!
