As you would expect, the food was delicious - Edit
There are plenty of vegan options and the portions are the perfect size. The price-performance ratio is also optimal. The food is delicious, filling and satisfying. The atmosphere is calm and pleasant, the staff friendly. There is also dessert. All in all, perfect.

"Small plate" of deliciousness - Edit
My friend and I had the small plate each and tried little bit of each vegan curries. There were tofu, chickpeas, potato and this creamy one im not sure what it was.. but it was amazing. Came with choice of white or brown rice. Small plate was plenty £14.90 for 2 people. We then had a dessert each of cheesecake and chocolate peanut (£6.03). Highly recommend. Doesn't taste oily.

Quick and cheap - Edit
For 8.95€ you can get the "small" plate which is actually heaping, it's more than enough. You get your food quite quick, the prices are cheap, and the food is filling.

Cheap tasty food - Edit
In this restaurant, a small portion is about 8 euros and that was definitely enough food for a meal! The food was very tasty and you get a bunch of different thing thrown together on a plate

Good vegan food - Edit
Had a mixture of their vegan options and the portion was really big also delicious. Options vary daily and staff are really helpful. Wouldn’t return because no unvaccinated people allowed to dine in, regardless of whether i’m vaccinated or not I wouldn’t give my custom to places with this rule. But try this place you won’t be disappointed 😃

Home-made vegan paradise - Edit
Govinda serves beautiful home-made comfort food. They have different vegan choices every day and so far each one of them was very delicious. The portions are generous and it feels like you are sitting at a friend's place rather than being in a restaurant. Definitely drop by if you enjoy this casual setting!

We ate there today and everything was fantastic, almost everything was vegan (just two vegetarian and one had a vegan version). I love all the food there and I was pretty full after. Me I took the small plate and it was super big anyway and sooo tasty. Highly recommended and the vegan piece of cake was so tasty as well. One of my favourite restaurants for suuure!!!

My favourite spot in town - Edit
There are lots of vegan options in town compared to a few years ago but even still Govindas is my absolute favourite. You will not leave hungry. They have two plate options, small and large, with the small being quite substantial! They will happily outline what is vegan, about 80% of the daily dishes always are, and the selection includes a a mix of dishes including rice, daal, shepherds pie, potatoes, vegetables - all the healthy filling foods, made simply yet incredibly tasty and very good value. Just good quality food and a lovely cozy, relaxed atmosphere, with very friendly staff.
Read morePros: Majority is vegan but ask, 1 or 2 may contain milk, They will happily point out the vegan dishes, Very tasty, filling, good value, great atmosphere

Great spot for amazing veggie food - Edit
I’ve long been a fan of Govinda’s - they are well-known in the vegetarian community as a really reliable spot for healthy, hearty food. I always order a “small plate” (large also available but small is HUGE) where for less than 8 EUR you’ll receive a pile of rice, dahl, and a mix of the day’s special hot foods which could include potato gratin, paneer, moussaka, cottage pie - every day it’s different. If you’re vegan be sure to let them know as some dishes will contain cow’s milk, but the staff will happily dish up a vegan selection for your plate - the Abbey Street branch is best for vegans as they have a larger selection than the Aungier Street branch. They also have a wonderful selection of soup and salads and a dessert of the day if you fancy a lighter bite or a second course. They also have a lovely selection of teas and cold drinks - but bear in mind that as they are a Krishna-run establishment they do not serve caffeinated beverages (decaf black tea is available though).

Yummy, different and cheap in the heart of Dublin - Edit
I had small portion but it is so big I couldn't finish it! It was so tasty, you can pick what do you like and how much!! Vegan options are clearly marked on chalk board and staff is extremely kind and attentive and will tell you everything. My chickpea curry was too spicy for my taste but I mixed it with other veggies so it's a pass! Curry has to be spicy anyway😉I am here for 4 days in total. Ohhh and soups are amazing! And bread! Try it! Every day different, I liked broccoli soup the most. Thank you very much for feeding me on my vacation ❤️

Very tasty! - Edit
Very tasty little place. I love the fact that it’s grab and go if you want which is nice on a lunch hour. Good selection of vegan options and desserts as well. I had a veggie curry, potatoes and Dahl over some rice. Will definitely be going again! Love the rustic old school feel inside.

Not the kind of place for a date but great for eating alone or with friends and family.
Homemade Indian flavours and plenty of salads. They use paneer and ghee in some dishes so ask for vegan options, at least 2 or 3 options are.
Pros: Good value , Tasty home made , Always friendly and happy staff
