The ice cream is presented beautifully, and it really looks lovely. They have a range of vegan choices, but on the day I visited they were all fruit based/sorbet. The tasty was a little sharp for me. Even my vegetarian companions who had much more choice, felt it was style over substance.

The queue for this place was huge - but like many others I wanted to enjoy the stunning design! Good selection of vegan options - mostly sorbets, I could only see one vegan ice cream so perhaps avoid if you’re not a sorbet fan. The flavours were really good - strawberry and elderflower and lemon and basil were very refreshing on such a hot day. You are paying for the novelty shape but it’s cute so why not!

They have some interesting vegan flavours like strawberry/elderflower and its nice to see how they make the roses but I spent 30 minutes in line which wasn't worth it in my opinion. I like the experience but won't visit again. Also the cones tasted cheap..

This place is located right in the middle of St Stephens Square and everyone seems to have heard of it, as the queue was out of the door! However it was very quick and the process they have for paying and ordering is super slick.

Read moreI tried the dark chocolate, lemon basil and strawberry (something). She misheard me and gave me the strawberry one but nonetheless it was still a treat. My friend (a vegan ice cream connoisseur lol) gave it an 11/10 and tried the pistachio.
The vegan ice creams are all clearly labelled and the staff is happy to help.

Made with fruits, it tastes the real fruit. Some vegan options such as chocolate with banana, berries, watermelon and exotic. HUF 1200 for 3 flavors. One unit very central, close to the cathedral. A second unit crossing the square. A few time the queue as there was not many staff for the amount of clients. It accepts international debit card. I noticed a difference in size among my ice cream and my husband’s.

This is my second time in Budapest and I have always remembered Gelarto Rosa from my first visit. This time, I took my partner with me, and we each had a three layered ice-cream. I had peach sorbet, passion fruit and banana, and chocolate hazelnut. My partner had passion fruit and banana, pistachio, and mango. We both thought it was delicious, and we loved how cute it was- in the shape of a rose. The staff were friendly and patient (waiting for us to choose out of the options).

I had a bit of queue here but the shop was very organised and efficient. Lots of vegan flavours to choose. The ice cream looks gorgeous, and was a refreshing treat on a hot day, but I wouldn’t say it was unforgettable gelato.

Outside layer/leaves translate to a small portion/scoop so whatever your favourite flavour is you're best off saying at time of ordering that this one should be the inside of your rose. Don't expect to be asked like I did;) Like others said, taste isn't that great but design is pretty
