Best food ever! - Edit
I loved dinner here! We had the petit tasting menu in Autumn and everything was so tasty. Would recommend for anyone who isn’t picky but enjoys nice food. It was quite expensive, but if it’s within your price range, I’d really reccomend. 💕

Absolutely stunning - Edit
Forget the fact that the food is 100% vegan it is absolutely stunning food regardless of your preferences. Every dish blew us away on the tasting menu, they all stood up on their own but picking a few favourites the brioche proves, as we all knew that you can make the finest French pastries vegan. Then there was the crepe which was potato based and so light, vegan butter sauce and kelp vegan caviar, oh my goodness it was so delicious!

Grand Diner Winter menu - Edit
Treated my husband for his birthday meal and it didn't disappoint. He got a cute signed card from Alexis Gauthier and they decorated his dessert. Nice touch.
Read moreWe enjoyed all the courses in the grand menu. However we felt the courses they dropped for the petit diner were the right ones as they were probably our least favourite. As such, the petit diner seemed better value for money.
The food came out at a good pace and the service was good. The restaurant was cozy - like a house - and the fire was burning, which created a lovely atmosphere.
The food was interesting and was a celebration of vegetables - no faux meat. The only downside was a lack of protein - some lentils or beans for example would have been great.
Our favourites were the brioche toast, ravioli, beetroot and the stunning desserts - the orange sorbet and nut chocolate meringue - wow! Even the pre dessert with the quince was yummy.
The carrot dish was average and the sauce with the tart was a bit too strong on the saffron. Those (and the quince) are the dishes they didn't serve for the petit dinner hence we felt a smidge disappointed to have paid an extra £40 plus £4.5 service for a piece of carrot, thin slice of tart and a slice of quince.
The group have to order the same menu (preferably my husband would have had the grand and I would have had the petit).

How Jazz would taste - Edit
Alexis is a master of his craft and a brilliant artist. As per the title the experience of a Gauthier meal is the foodie equivalent of exceptional Jazz - bold but refined, experimental but subtle, deep but accessible taking your taste buds on a journey of delight. As long time, well travelled, Vegans there is no doubt in our experience that Alexis Gauthier is a world class master of Vegan fine cuisine. The 12 (or is it more?) course tasting menu is one of the best meals you could hope to experience whether or not you are Vegan. If you live in London it would have to be worth going four times a year to experience each of the seasonal menues. We love all three of his restaurants and never go to London without visiting at least two of them.

Best birthday dinner - Edit
My super cute boyfriend took me here as a surprise for my birthday. We ate at the chef’s table which was in a private room on a large circular table with a couple of friends.
Read moreAlvin, our waiter explained each course as we went through and we also decided to do the wine pairing. Every course was really incredible and innovative our two friends are not vegan but really thoroughly enjoyed it. .
We had the smaller course menu and was enough to fill us. I think it was six courses. They also made me a birthday cake Divine.
Can’t wait to go back and try the bigger menu! Really special evening with equally special food loved it can’t really say enough good things about it as it was perfect 💚💚💚🌱🌱🌱

An amazing experience! - Edit
We really enjoyed our visit here for my wife's birthday! Gauthier Soho is located in a busy part of London but when we arrived we had to ring a doorbell and then stepped out of the busyness into the tranquil interior of the restaurant. It was dimly lit and had a classy, peaceful feel.
Read moreWe had the Summer 2025 Petit Dinner which is the smaller of their two taster menu options and consisted of seven courses.
From start to finish the food was delicious with expertly balanced dishes and an amazing range of flavours. The dishes were creative, mixing ingredients that I wouldn't have expected to work together but combined to create really delicious flavours. Two of my favourite courses were the Brioche Feuilletée and Sunflower & Tomato Raviolini but they were all excellent.
The service was also excellent with each dish arriving just as we finished the previous one, giving the experience a really great flow.
We also added a Louis XV birthday cake to share, which was rich, indulgent and delicious!
To finish we were also presented with dark chocolate and passionfruit petit fours – which again were excellent!
There was also a card on the table for my wife's birthday which had been signed by Alexis Gauthier himself, which I thought was a really nice touch.
The whole experience felt very special and I would definitely recommend coming here for a special occasion!

I don’t think you can find a better vegan tasting menu for well under £200 with 6 courses and drink pairings. Possibly the best meal of my life including inventive dishes like tofu ricotta stuffed courgette flowers, maitake steak, and aubergine ice cream

Birthday mega treat. Every course blew our minds.
Read moreThree puddings was a bit much though. There were two on the tasting menu and my friend ordered a birthday one. Asked to take sweets home. Nothing to put them in and too soft to travel. So went everywhere in bag. Could have said they won't travel well.
Other than that very lovely experience. Would go back for sure. The 6 course would be enough!
Pros: Brioche and yuzu cream, Main course mushrooms, Aubergine sorbet with sesame and berry compote
Cons: Service was a bit odd

Exceptional fine dining. - Edit
This was my third visit over several years. The chefs continue to innovate. This is European fine dining so the flavours are subtle. There is some great innovation and wonderful textures (I tried the caviar and the cheese which were both brilliant in this regard). We were able to select just a few glasses from the pairing menu and pay per glass.

Amazing experience - Edit
I was bought a voucher for Christmas for the ‘Petit Diner’ (such a good present idea if you’re stuck what to get a vegan for a birthday or xmas pressie!) I went on a Thursday evening to celebrate my anniversary with my fiancé and we also had it paired with wine. The whole evening was wonderful, it’s an intimate setting, the decor, the staff, the music, and of course the FOOD 😍

What you'd expect - Edit
You don't need me to tell you it was among the most extraordinary dining experiences of my life, and it's genuinely all done out of compassion for the animals. Costs an awful lot, of course, but if you get one chance in your life to go, I'd say go.

I found out about this restaurant after coming across Gauthier's Instagram. I LOVE his story and when visiting London, this restaurant was high on my list. If you dont know his story, go check it out!
Read moreWe went for the 5pm sitting, which was the light taster menu which also included a cocktail, a glass of red and glass of white. This was an amazing deal! They added cute little touches like a hand written birthday card, left on the table.

Fantastic vegan fine dininig - Edit
I've eaten here a few times over the last few years and it's always a great meal. It's always exciting to see how the combination of ingredients from the menu are going to be presented.
Read moreWhen we visited in June 2025 my partner and I opted for the 10 course tasting menu. It was absolutely delicious. Not every dish quite hits the spot but on overall it's a fantastic experience with creative and imaginative food.
Some of the standouts... The brioche was delicious. They've always had some variation of this on the menu on all of my visits and it's always great. It's rich and buttery with perfect textures inside and out. It was served with a lovage whipped feta and it was a great accompniment.
The classic potato dauphinois came with an incredibly savoury sticky sauce which was is so good they give you some bread to make sure you can mop it all up.
The blue cheese tartlette was a perfect little bite. The pastry was excellent, the cheesy filling was full of flavour and the white balsamic gel on top added a bit of sharpness and a fun extra texture.
Both desserts were excellent. The custard in the rhubarb and custard was thick, rich and decadent and the meringue on top was sweet and had a great snap. The tapioca pearls added another fun texture to the plate.
The beetroot and cherry was a decadent plate to finish on. There perfect sponge was contained in a delicate chocolate shell that had a satisfying snap. The kirsch ice cream had a great texture and a little bit of sharpness to help with all the rich flavours.
We also really enjoyed the parma violet mocktails.
We came here for lunch and the whole thing lasted about 2 to 2 and a half hours. We were absolutely stuffed and didn't need to eat again that day.

Grand Dinner menu 2025 at Gauthier - Edit
Having heard so many good things about Gauthier over the years, I'm happy to confirm that it absolutely lives up to the hype. Yes, it's pricy, but so much thought and care had gone into the flavours and presentation of every dish, and the level of service was so high, I think the price point is justified. I was particularly impressed with the non-alcoholic drinks pairings which was so well thought out really added to the experience. I think we'll be making this a yearly treat!
