Vegan Fine Dining at it’s Best

Treated my sister to dinner here a few years ago. 5* dining experience. Pre fixe menu was creative, presented beautifully, and delicious.

Pros: Vegan pre fixe menu , Presentation

Cons: Not cheap, but well worth splurging

Grand Dîner (11 courses) 100% vegan, 100% amazing

Best meal I've had in my life, let alone since going vegan six years ago. The service was friendly and well informed. I had the Grand Dîner 11 course with the wine pairing (highly recommended) and it was an absolute dream from start to finish.

The pairings were masterful and the meal was perfectly paced and sequenced. I have eaten at other Michelin star restaurants, but this experience eclipsed them all. Much love to Alexis and his genius sommelier, staff and vision for a better future! Much love!

Pros: A magnificent Michelin Star experience, 100% Vegan, Wine pairing is superb

Cons: Pricey and several hours of time commitment, Must reserve in advance - limited calendar, Small, minimalist, but exclusive dining room

Disappointed

Mediocre food that tries hard to be something else. Ambience is a bit dead in my opinion probably because people tend to act pretentious in a pretentious space.
Not for me.

Cons: Expensive

Unforgettable experience

This place was impeccable from start to finish - the service, the food, the presentation, everything was so special. We would love to come again to try the other season menus they create. We had the grand dinner winter menu and every dish was packed with flavour. We had never eaten at a restaurant with a Michelin star chef before so weren’t completely sure what to expect but we loved it, and we were stuffed by the end. Getting to try redefine meat was just insanely good.

Wonderful French tasting menu

Each course was delicious and delivered by knowledgeable servers happy to explain the dishes. One of them was 3D-printed beef from an Israeli company that is a glimpse of the future of plant-based dining. Book far in advance as reservations fill quickly. #Veganuary

Pros: Everything is vegan!, Cozy townhouse location , Friendly staff

Such a wonderful meal

This entire meal and experience was excellent. The restaurant itself is a tasteful and intimate spot with attentive, friendly and knowledgeable staff. The tasting menu we had was extremely delicious, well executed and rich. It was so nice to have French cuisine as a vegan as it’s been so long. The refine meat they use is honestly the closest thing to lamb I have ever tried and had it been at any other restaurant I would have been concerned they gave me real meat. Obviously it’s not cheap but for a special night out this is really an excellent choice!! The cocktails were a big hit too!

Pros: Delicious seasonal menu, Redone meat is incredibly realistic , Nice vibe and great cocktails

Cons: Expensive

Amazing

I mean I’m writing this review immediately after finishing my meal. Food is amazing. Flavor pairings were incredible.

If you can swing the price for the sit down multi course meal, then do it.

vegan gourmet

we went here for the grand diner at 19:30h. We had the 8-course diner and it was delicious.

Overall I think we spent nearly 3:30 hours in there. We were not in a rush at all so we sat, talked and enjoyed all the dishes as they came.

The waitress would explain all dishes in detail, although I have to admit that sometimes there were several ingredients I was not familiar with.

I believe we had the late summer menu, cause it changes often.

Pros: Complete menu, Tasty, service

Cons: Expensive

Phenomenal Meal

Celebrating a special birthday, we had the 8 course tasting menu.

The service was outstanding, with helpful and knowledgeable staff explaining each course.

Water was brought to the table immediately, with the wine order around the third course. There was an option for the sommelier wine matching to the courses but we opted to have a bottle of wine.

None of the pictures I took do the food justice. The vegan cheeses were notably good, both rich and creamy and perfectly balanced flavours.

It's impossible to pick a favourite course! It's simply well worth a visit.

Fantastic food

We have been looking forward to having a meal here since we enjoyed several of their meal boxes during lockdown!
We had the 11 course meal on Saturday evening. The restaurant is lovely, you have plenty of space between tables and are not at all squeezed in as you are at some upmarket restaurants.
The staff were excellent and the food was outstanding.
This was definitely the best tasting menu we have ever had and a bonus that the restaurant is totally vegan.

Pros: Fantastic food, Tables well spaced , Excellent staff

Cons: Expensive but very special

Vegan fine dining!

What an experience! Granted, far from cheap, a wonderful experience. From start to finish, count on about 3 hours.

The menu varies based on the season. We had 11 courses in total. One or two were not so great or just ok, but overall the quality is sublime. The service is also very good.

Pros: Very tasty and well executed food, Great service

Cons: Expensive (but understandable)

Outstanding dining in the heart of London

We were in London for the weekend and had booked here as a special meal out. From the beginning it is a fantastic experience. I think eating it as an experience rather than just a meal is how this should be approached. We opted for the 7:30 sitting which is the Grand tasting menu. Each course was great although my partner who has been vegetarian since a teenager didn’t like the 3D printed fake meat course. Reminded her too much of meat which is a testament to the advances in technology I suppose. The waiting staff are very keen to hear views on this course and may inform future menus. Every other course was finished and enjoyed. We were eating for at least 3.5 hours and it flew by. Each course was well explained by the waiters and the paired wine was also equally well explained. A great experience.

Pros: A unique experience, Unbelievable flavours, Service exemplary

Cons: 3D printed meat too realistic for our liking

Outstanding and Inventive Fine Dining Experience

Gauthier Soho was created by French chef Alexis Gauthier and has received high recognition from the Michelin Guide to The New York Times. As the name suggests Gauthier is in the Soho district of London. The restaurant is inside of a Regency townhouse which according to the Gauthier website has undergone complete refurbishment.

To enter the restaurant there is a buzzer to press upon which one of the friendly staff greets you. The restaurant features a small dining area which is nicely decorated. The flooring feels high end and the tables are draped with high quality cloth.

I went for the Petit Dîner, a shorter 5 course menu for £55, which is only offered for 5 o’clock sittings on Tuesday to Saturday. With a service charge the cost is around £63. All the staff here were friendly, attentive, and personable.

Once I was seated the staff brought me tap water on request which was refilled throughout. The canapés where a BLT tart which was delicious and unique as the BLT flavor was infused into a clear orb. Next, a warm brioche came out seated upon rocks along side a vegan feta with pico de gallo. The brioche was nice but nothing mind-blowing. Then I had the roast fennel which was served with a fennel and black currant tea poured over, table side. The fennel dish was tender and made a great use of texture with the pickled blackberry. The truffle risotto was my favorite savory dish and topped with black truffles.

If you plan on the dining here and don’t want to spoil the surprise course, don’t read this paragraph. On the menu was a secretive item listed as “Tomorrow,” which was a surprise from the chef featuring a 3D printed vegan lamb— this tasted nice and was shockingly close to what I remember meat tasting like. Overall this course was very unique and a novel experience. Each dish was well described by the staff.

The dessert began with peaches with lime sorbet then out came the Norviegienne Brulèe (aka baked Alaska) which was torched at the table. The Brûlée was one of the best desserts I’ve had featuring fresh strawberries, a crisp chocolate layer, and two types of sorbet inside. Finally, I was given the petit fours which looked nice with gold leaf. The macaroon was a bit to sweet but the meal overall was one of the best I’ve had.

I’ve been to vegan fine dining restaurants before that have disappointed me but everything about my experience here was stellar. If you enjoy fine dining than Gauthier should be at the top of your list when in London.

Vegan fine dining is finally here!

A wonderful mouth experience that everyone needs to try! The black truffle ravioli (Black Antipodean Melanosporum Truffle) was possibly the most delicious thing I’ve ever had in my mouth, period. The whole menu was an adventure in flavors I never knew I could experience. It’s pricey, but not insane (£99 per person, with a separate £75 wine pairing). I can’t think of a better way to celebrate an occasion than coming here.

Pros: The experience is unmatched, The menu has a variety of flavors

Cons: £99 per person

Incredible, can’t compare it with any other vegan restaurant. Fine dining, french quisine. We were thrilled.
The experience starts by having to ring the doorbell to enter the restaurant.

Pros: Vegan cuisine at a high level, You’ll be thinking about it and will smile again, Accomodating to allergies
