Surprisingly good burger - Edit
I found the vegan burger to be really juicy and filling, amazing!😋The patty was made out of chickpeas, which are hard to get in Cuba. The mango juice was delicious too!

Decent drinks, food was ok - Edit
The drinks were on the stronger side compared to most places in Havana. They didn’t have much for vegans as they were out of hummus but we had the lentil vegan burger, which initially arrived cold. When we asked if it was meant to be cold they said “no” and then took it back. When it returned, it was nothing to write home about, but it gave us some protein and fiber in a place where vegan options are hard to come by or tend to just be grilled vegetables.

Great vegan friendly options - Edit
We ate here for breakfast and dinner, eating their recommended vegan options which were clearly marked on the menu. Whilst a little more expensive than other local restaurants (as they cater very much to the tourist market), they were very much worth the money with good food, good portions and good service. Highly recommend #Veganuary

The best restaurant for vegans in cuba!!!! - Edit
It's the only restaurant in Cuba that had good vegan alternative options (and not just basic thinks like rice and beans or okra). I ate the vegsn hamburger and my mom the green sandwich and it wad heaven!!!! Very recommended.

Just got back from six days in Havana. “Best restaurant for vegans in Cuba?” WOW. Did you go to Camino al Sol? That was by far my favorite in Havana (and it is 100% vegetarian and most could be veganized). However, it was in Vedano (west of Central Havana).

Vegan lentil burger - Edit
They have a vegan burger and vegan paninis. The vegan burger was very nice with some nice local and home made sauce. I had to spoil myself after no vegan options at the resort. :(

Good vegan option - Edit
This was recommended as one of the only places that have vegan breakfast so I decided to give it a try. There was not much of a menu, you just tell them you want whatever the vegan option is and I think they just take whatever vegetables they have and mix it together with yuca and eggplant. There's a choice of sauces to go on the side which are guava, papaya or something spicy. I don't know exactly what it was that I was eating but it was pretty good. I would come back. I think they do the best they can with the resources they have.

Un mojito grande :) - Edit
We visited this place a few times: for breakfast, brunch and for mojito in the evening. We most enjoyed the mojito, it was big and rich, and sitting was nice!

One good option - Edit
When i went to eat here it was a little later in the day, they had three options to order from and they were all meat options. I asked if they had anything for vegans or vegetarians the server was knowledgeable and offered a pineapple vegetable salad. This appeared to be vegan but obviously can’t be sure. It was absolutely delicious though, very glad i tried this place but disappointed that they did not have any beans or other plant based protein. I believe they offer a larger menu earlier in the day so maybe go for lunch or early dinner and you’ll have better luck.

Nice place with some vegan options - Edit
Fonda Al Pirata serves only a few vegan meal options, like hummus with vegetables, vegan burger and a vegetable plate. The dish named Botija Pirata de Vegetables is a warm vegetable plate with a pumpkin sauce and banana hummus and was super tasty! They also serve a big variety of fresh juices and smoothies. They are located in beautiful street in old Havanna and they have an outside area to sit and an inside area, that is decorated in a cool and creative pirate style.

No vegan food available this season - Edit
The atmosphere and music is good. The staff are helpful and eager to please. Both times I went, no vegan food was available. Considering Covid has affected the tourism numbers and the food shortages in the country, this is understandable so I don't want to give a negative review because of it.
Read moreThe smoothies ($8 cdn) and coffee ($3 cdn) are the best in Cuba. They also have lots of vegetarian options made with eggs and cheese. As a vegan, this isn't an option. They offered to make toast and veggies but that wouldn't be worth the $15 Canadian it would of cost with the current currency exchange.
Pros: Amazing smoothies and good coffee
Cons: No vegan food available both times I went

good vibe - Edit
The vibe here is very good, especially with a lemonade hahaaa! we ordered "Vegan Burger", the whole burger is made of black bean paste, although it is too loose, it spreads out after a bite 😅 but the taste is unexpectedly delicious ~
