Ich war nun schon sehr oft im Försters und finde es, wie der Titel schon sagt, mal so, mal so. Für das heutige Essen würde ich nur 3 Sterne geben. Zum einen war das Schnitzel extrem dünn (dünner als sonst), und die Panade des Schnitzels war teilweise so hart, dass man es nur mit roher Gewalt schneiden konnte.

Warum dann also 4 Sterne? Weil ich weiß, dass das Försters es auch anders kann. Ich bin schon so oft begeistert aus diesem Restaurant gegangen, weil das Essen wirklich sehr lecker sein kann. Dafür hätte ich eine glatte 5/5 gegeben.
Ich habe auch schon vieles von der Karte probiert und war in 85 % der Fälle zufrieden. Genau das, was ich hier beschreibe, spiegelt sich auch in den anderen Reviews wider. Einige waren an den guten Tagen da, andere an den schlechten.
Die Qualitätsschwankungen sind hier leider sehr ausgeprägt.

Bestes Restaurant in Berlin - Edit
Wir waren mit 7 Leiten zum Abendessen und kamen sogar zu spät, trotzdem war der Kellner super nett und wir konnten ganz in Ruhe 3 Gänge genießen. This used to be my favourite vegan restaurant in Berlin and I used to go there regularly, but in the last year or so both the food and the service have been going downhill. Last time we were there I ordered the Roulade and it was unexplainably dry. They forgot to bring us the entrée, proceeding directly with the main course, and the beer was served over the counter (our table was right next to it) rather than brought to the table, and the waiter/barman was holding the glass at the top, where you put your mouth.

We had the soy rolls simmered in red wine sauce, and the deep-fried "fish" which was the weekly plate. Both were yummy.

Vegane typisch deutsche Küche in Berlin - Edit
Ich hatte gestern bereits zum zweiten mal einen sehr schönen Abend im Försters. Probiert habe ich schon die Roulade sowie von der aktuellen Sonderkarte die Lendchen mit Rotweinsauce, Kartoffel-Mandel-Bällchen und Pastinaken-Gemüse. Es war jedes mal sehr lecker, das Personal freundlich und kompetent sowie Preis-Leistung angemessen. Ich hatte selbst nicht das Pistazien-Tiramisu von der aktuellen Sonderkarte. Das hat jedoch auch sehr lecker ausgesehen.

Good option for veganized versions of german dishes - Edit
There aren't many vegan restaurants in Berlin serving traditional german food, so this is a nice spot if you're looking for it.

It's bit pricey though. I think it's a good experience if you feel like trying it out, but not a spot I'd go so often. It's more expensive than other vegan restaurants that I think also offer excellent food.

Unser Besuch war leider eher enttäuschend. Beim Service ist einiges schief gelaufen, nicht nur an unserem Tisch. Besteck kam viel zu spät, mein Essen dann leider kalt. Keine Entschädigung angeboten, ist dann halt so. Essen kam auch bei zwei Personen nicht zur gleichen Zeit.

Read moreThe only reason why I give 4 is because the 'duck breast' (and other dishes I saw on other people's tables) was very similar to real meat. While this is an excellent option for clients like my partner (who is not vegan but tries his best to reduce meat consumption), for me it was a bit challenging as I stopped eating meat 25 years go.

Giving this 4 out of 5 because the staff are just ok. The food is quite pricey but if you want vegan German food this is the best option I think. They can cater to larger groups like 15 people.

Delicious restaurant with beautifully cooked dishes — the sauces and seasoning were honestly perfect. It is on the pricier side, but you can clearly see why once the food arrives. Service was pleasant too. The desserts, however, didn’t win me over: quite heavy and really expensive. I was also disappointed that we couldn’t order a coffee at 9 pm because the machine had already been turned off, even though the restaurant closes at 11. We were the last customers, sure, but it would have been nice to be offered coffee (or even the dessert menu) right after our meal instead of being ignored.

Up-market but cosy fully vegan restaurant that does traditional German dishes.
Read moreWe had the soy schnitzel (very nice and crispy), chicken schnitzel (not for me as very realistic), tartar (tasty), cheese wedges (nice but small), chocolate cake (ok) and speculoos tiramisu (very nice and unexpectedly large portion).
Only negatives are the price, which is probably a tiny bit too much for the quality, the mains could have done with more vegetables, and the desserts had way too much cinnamon!
Also had musicians playing throughout the evening, but I'm not sure if they were actually paid by the restaurant lol.

Das Roastbeef hatte einen Fleischtouch und eine positiv "zähe" Konsistenz. Die Beilagen waren ebenso lecker.
Der Hering hat zwar nicht nach Fisch geschmeckt, aber war trotzdem, gerade wegen der authentischen Soße, gut!
Die Preise sind relativ hoch, vor allem, da vieles ja einfach aus Gemüse besteht, aber wir waren trotzdem zufrieden.

I visited with friends, my Schnitzel was a bit dry but anyway tasty. Dessert was a bit underwhelming but again not bad! I will go back to try other dishes since the menu is interesting!

Dönerstag ist der beste Tag - Edit
Ich zähle mich hier seit Jahren zum Stammpublikum und ich wurde noch nie enttäuscht. Es ist etwas hochpreisiger, aber dafür ist die Qualität auch immer Top und der Service ausgezeichnet. Am besten gefällt es mir Donnerstags, denn da gibt es veganen Döner und noch besser: Veganes Gyros. Super lecker!

We were so excited but the food was mediocre at best, arrived cold on a warm plate - overcooked noodles, undercooked mushrooms. The soy the used for the ceasar salad was just ok and NOT worth the extra 4€. And the waiter had clearly been drinking through the evening

The food definitely wasn't bad but was quite disappointing given the reviews and prices. We had the chicken schnitzel (quite nice) & the chanterelle and seitan medallion linguine, which was very basic and not particularly tasty
Read moreThe reason for the bad rating was the service. Both of the 2 waiters who served us were incredibly rude and seemed pissed off that we were there to have dinner... every question we asked was answered with an almost comedic lack of enthusiasm e.g. when we asked what a Hemingway cocktail was and the waiter basically just sighed and then begrudgingly showed us a pixellated google image of a different cocktail without explaining the ingredients. We ended up getting espresso martinis, which were pretty gross.
Our starter never arrived (no explanation) and we were asked to wait outside in the rain for 10 minutes even though our table was unoccupied. If you're wanting a bit of a special evening and are only in Berlin for a quick visit, I'd avoid this place like the plague
