Reservation recommended - Edit
I recommend getting a reservation here because if it's busy you will have a hard time getting a table.
Read moreI came in at a good time and they were able to seat me right away, but they had to put me at a table for 4 people even though I was alone because the other tables were reserved.
Anyway the server spoke English and was very friendly.
They brought out some lentil appetizer and it was quite good. Black lentils mixed on some apple chunks with a smokey flavor. Delicious.
I ordered the soy schnitzel, a cranberry lemonade, and a large bottle of water.
Everything came out very quickly and was perfect.
The schnitzel was very hot and crispy. It came with a lemon wedge that I squeezed over it and the flavors were exactly what you expect schnitzel to taste like.
On the side it had a cucumber salad, a potato salad, and some sort of berry sauce.
The cucumber salad had fresh dill and was pretty good. I am not the biggest cucumber fan so for me I just ate this quickly and moved on.
The potato salad was my favorite thing on the plate. It was so tasty and I'm so impressed that it doesn't have real mayonnaise. The crunchy onions, apples, and soft potatoes mixed so well. It's a meal that makes me think of summertime. It's refreshing and cool and nice to eat on a hot day.
The berry sauce made me think of what my dad used to make for Thanksgiving Dinner. It has a sweet cranberry flavor as well as a hint of citrus and sugar. It is sweet and a nice treat on the plate. This was like getting a little dessert next to my meal.
The cranberry lemonade was yummy. It was very sweet and not as tangy or tart as I thought it would be. It had just enough fizz to feel a bit like a soda, but homemade.
And the bottle of water was self explanatory.
I recommend coming here and getting a delicious German meal made vegan. It's in a cute neighborhood too where there seems to be lots of shopping and other restaurants and things to do.
Pros: Traditional German food made vegan, Huge portions
Cons: Cashless

Late-Night German Fine Dining – Absolutely Worth It! - Edit
We spontaneously decided one evening that we were craving traditional German cuisine and luckily managed to get a table at Försters for 10pm. I’ve honestly never eaten that late before!
Read moreWhen we arrived, there were only two other guests, so we pretty much had the restaurant to ourselves. I did feel a little bad that the kitchen had to stay open longer just for us, since they officially close at 11pm and the staff already looked like they were ready to wrap up for the night. Still, everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming, especially considering how late it was.
First of all, the interior is beautiful - high-quality, slightly rustic, and perfectly matching the traditional German menu. The whole vibe leans towards fine dining. The prices are definitely on the higher side, but in my opinion, absolutely fair for the quality and experience.
We ordered the salmon and the schnitzel, so we could try different dishes, and both were truly excellent. Normally, the schnitzel comes with a potato salad. Since I’m not a big fan of that, I asked if I could have something else instead. It was no problem at all, and they served me a potato gratin instead, which was absolutely delicious and paired perfectly with the cranberry sauce and schnitzel. Everything was super flavorful and beautifully presented. It was even served personally by the chef, which was a lovely touch!
All in all, I’d definitely go back. A big recommendation if you’re looking for elevated vegan German cuisine in Berlin!

Cons: unfreundlicher/ unaufmerksamer Service , kleine Portionen, geschmacklich langweilig

Rather unique and very good - Edit
It was amazing to have veganized 'German' food at this level. Their meat alternatives were unique (never had vegan 'lamb' before) and definitely made in-house. The menu is short, but we were more than happy with the options - and the quality of the food was great, including the sides of veggies and potatoes, which were cooked on pijnt and seasoned well. I definitely recommend the vegan roast beef, which was perfectly tender.

Cozy Vibes, Pricey Schnitzel - Edit
This is a solid spot if you’re looking to satisfy a schnitzel craving — vegan style. We tried their daily special: seasonal white asparagus, soy-based schnitzel, potatoes, and your choice of sauce (vegan options included brown butter and hollandaise).
Read moreWhile it started off promising, the flavours became quite bland as we ate, and the schnitzel itself was noticeably small. At around €80 for two mains and two drinks, it felt a bit overpriced for what was essentially a nice but underwhelming plate.
I was hoping to end the meal on a sweet note, but the only vegan dessert was a strawberry cake that didn’t tempt me. It seems like desserts rotate, though, so you might have better luck another day.
On the plus side, the staff were warm and welcoming, and the restaurant has a cozy, inviting atmosphere. If you’re craving that nostalgic German comfort food experience and don’t mind paying a bit extra for the vibe, it’s worth a visit — but manage your expectations.
Pros: Vegan schnitzel available , Seasonal ingredients , Friendly, helpful staff
Cons: Flavour fizzled out , Small-ish portions , Overpriced

German Vegan Fine Dining - Edit
High-quality, flavorful, and entirely vegan! This is a lovely spot to enjoy traditional German food. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but absolutely fair given the quality and serving sizes (prepare for big portions!). The interior is rather minimalist, but still pleasant and welcoming. Försters is always a highlight of my visits to Berlin.

We were very pleased to find a vegan restaurant serving more traditional German food. Everything was delicious and well presented. Definitely worth a visit. The cheese wedge starter was especially good.

Tasty vegan schnitzel - Edit
We had the vegan mock chicken schnitzel, it came with a potato salad, pickled cucumber and cranberry sauce. It was very tasty and a good opportunity to try vegan German cuisine.
Read moreIt was on the pricier side in my opinion, €23 for the schnitzel dish (April 2025). Though the ingredients all seemed high quality.

Great German style vegan food! - Edit
We wanted to eat German food once while in Berlin, and online this was the best recommended restaurant, and it did not disappoint! We orded the marinated vegan beef and vegan cheese wedges as starters, and the soja schnitzel and filet mignon as main dishes. Even though we were quite full, we could not resist also ordering the tiramisu. Although the food is a bit pricy, it was very much worth it, because it was so good and flavourful. I am certain the schnitzel could have fooled any meat eater. The staff was also incredibly friendly. Definitely recommend going here!

Gem for Vegan German Food - Edit
This is by far the best vegan German restaurant I have ever been to. Nothing else has come close. The menu changes seasonally and the food is always great.
Read moreThe roulade is exceptional. The schnitzel is amazing, I would recommend getting the more expensive "chicken" instead of the soy, but both are great.
What I am usually not sold on is items like lasagna or paella, which may just not be in their wheelhouse. Since there are so many wonderful options on the menu, this does not change my hype for this place.

Went on Monday schnitzel night. Cordon Bleu schnitzel and mushroom schnitzel, mushroom bruschetta starter and tiramisu with fruit for dessert. Highly recommend! As noted in other reviews, tiramisu has no coffee flavor but is still an excellent dessert.

Vegan meaty place - Edit
We had dinner at Forsters. They have a seasonal menu that changes so this menu might not be the one you will have. For a starter we had the cheese wedges. It was good! For the main I had the roast beef and it came with roasted potatoes and vegetables. My wife had one of the schnitzels, they mostly have a variety of schnitzels for their mains. For desert we had the Tiramisu. It was very fluffy and tasted really good, but it did not taste anything like a tiramisu. It did not have any coffee flavor, and it had strawberry drizzle on it. Again, good, but this is not tiramisu and I do not know why they call it a tiramisu. If you expect a tiramisu you will be disappointed. Our server was patient and answered all our questions throughly.

Lovely food, but the service could improve - Edit
Beautiful Austrian food! I took a chance with the special of the week, even though our waiter couldn’t tell us what it was. It ended up being a ravioli in vegan cream sauce garnished with fresh basil and tomato. It was lovely!

Brilliant Vegan German dishes - Edit
If you want to try vegan schnitzel, I recommend going here!
Read moreIt's accessible by public transport, the interior is cozy, and the menu is clear.
The menu isn't massive, but from what I've tried, I'm sure everything on it would be good. On Mondays they offer a larger selection of schnitzel, and on Thursdays you can get donner kebabs.
Everything is vegan by default, so I was also able to enjoy a milkshake with no qualms. The toffee and peanut milkshake tastes like Reese's! The service is quick and the staff is friendly.
And in case you've got someone who is desperate to have a meat dish, some dishes can be made with meat for an (large, €5) additional charge.
Pros: Authentic German dishes made vegan, Cosy, forest styled interior
