A Hidden Vegan Gem in Istanbul 🇹🇷 - Edit
It was such a pleasant surprise to find a place like this in Turkey, where fully vegan spots are still quite rare. I absolutely loved the vibe and decor — tall ceilings, open-air feel, and a stylish modern design. The pastries were incredible, flaky and flavorful, and the drinks were just as good. Definitely visit if you’re in Istanbul — it feels like you’ve stepped into a trendy bakery somewhere in the U.S.!

Read moreThey have a large variety of goods to choose from (which can be overwhelming!) We ordered several pastries, cakes, as well as some savory meals, during our visit to Istanbul. Each one of these was divine. While the prices match those of expensive European cities, it is justified here simply because the creativity and quality is so high. No shortcuts are taken (which I sadly noticed in a couple of other vegan places in Istanbul). You'll even find little tasty surprises in the middle of some of the pastries. Ethique isn't just a name. It's a principle delivering the best quality and it's clear by their high ratings and how consistently busy they are that they have a winning formula.
A visit to Ethique is an absolute must when visiting Istanbul.

You can tell from its 5-star average rating (with over 100 reviews!) that this bakery is truly something special. Everything I tried here was top quality. Honestly, not just in Istanbul but even compared to bakeries I’ve tried abroad, it has very few rivals. Prices are on the expensive side, but you definitely get your money's worth.

I was afraid they’re just doing pastry without any savoury food, but they have a savoury menu with salads, sandwiches and burgers. I tried Tofu Omelette Sandwich and Caesar Kale Salad, both were very good.

High class vegan cafe & patisserie - Edit
This is my second visit to the Ethique and it’s so impressive! The croissant sandwiches for lunch are divine— the croissants were so crispy and light. The desserts are so elegant. It’s really comfortable to sit inside in air conditioning when it’s hot out. Will definitely come back.

So many choices! Even at 3 pm on a Sunday, though clearly much was already gone. To go options packed cutely in individual boxes. The strawberry cake and madelines will be remembered forever! Chocolate croissant and caramel/chocolate cookie were ok.

I know my picture doesn’t do it justice, but the selection of pastries here is amazing. They had truffles, cakes, cookies etc. The croissant I had was so good. I wish I discovered this place at the beginning of my trip because I would have came everyday.

This is a vegans dream, Ethique has a beautiful display of cakes, pastries, chocolates and desserts. All are decorated immaculately and the ones we tasted were sublime. The staff we interacted with were friendly and keen to know whether we enjoyed our food. The location was a bit out the way, however we walked from Kadikoy and it was a pleasant journey. The interior is stylish and modern, there is also a very cute resident cat! Prices are expensive, but we had the best sweet treats we've ever had so would say it's 100% worth it. We recommend the croissants!

A French patisserie with a rather impressive offer. We visited in the evening, so the choice was limited; no savoury options and almost no sweet pastries, mostly just desserts and macarons.
Read moreThe chocolate cake I wanted most sold out right before my eyes, so I had to go for an alternative, which was not quite my cup of tea. My partner had a tiramisu which was great! I also bought a pistachio croissant for next day's breakfast (it was huge!), but I would like to taste it when it was fresh.
Prices are unfortunately not displayed, but it was around 6-7 euros per piece. Very expensive, but well, it reflects the quality of the products and the cost of ingredients. Nice spacious interior full of plants. The staff seemed rather disinterested.

I’m mostly vegan thanks to my lovely Vegan partner. We’ve been discovering Vegan places in Istanbul and honestly this place is our favourite. They have everything and anything you need for a good breakfast/brunch/lunch/snack. They do delivery&take away too.

I changed cities basically for their croissants. My mom, who is non-vegan and has very high standards for baked goods, thought the food was amazing. The only downside is that it's very hard to choose from all the variety!

So many mouth watering desserts i wanted to try them all! Really elegant. The food options are good too, mostly sandwiches. I had an harissa croissant it was good and i even struggled to finish it. Problem, its expensive and not central at all!

This place makes the most beautiful and delicious sweets I've ever tasted in my life! Whenever someone says it's not possible to make good vegan sweets, show them Ethique Plant-based! The bad part is that now I will have to learn Turkish and move to Istanbul so I can eat here more often.

As tourists we just went to the Asian side for this specific restaurant and it was 100% worth it. Nothing is missing there. Salty and sweets, biscuits, croissants, everything. Oh, and the DRINKS. Amazing.
