El Sultán has an inviting terrace and various plant based options. The team was very flexible agreeing to swap everything non vegan of their combo plate, offering me consequently a nice mixed dish. I had also a fresh coconut as drink, which was delicious.

2 for 1 falafel wrap Wednesdays - Edit
We went for the Wednesday promo on falafel wraps, 95 pesos for 2 good sized wraps. You can't really go wrong for that price. The wrap consisted of falafel, a lot of hummus and sliced tomatoes, it was simple but tasty.

I liked that the menu was clearly labeled. I also liked that the staff was knowledgeable. The food, however, wasn't good. I ordered the falafel salad. It was warm and tasteless, and the falafel was very dry. My friend ordered the falafel empanada and the fries. The empanada that they gave him wasn't an empanada. It was a quesadilla with falafel in it. The fries were okay. Didn't have a good experience here. I would rather go to other places in Puerto.

Not sure it's worth the hype, but it's a solid choice. The staff is nice (despite the service being a little long) and knowledgeable about vegan items on the menu. The wraps are good and come as 2-for-1 on Wednesdays.

The restaurant is situated at the Rinconada street alongside other restaurants. They have a few vegan options on the their menu including a falafel wrap which was great!

i honestly dont know the reviews of these people, maybe they dont know good falafel, but this one was super dry (the falafel balls and the whole wrap also), the falafel salad is a dry salad with a small spoon of humus on top and dry falafels. expensive for what you get. they charge 90 pesos for 5 tiny wine leaf rolls?!

Falafel wrap was just the best. Falafel was fresh and made to order, hummus was creamy, and the wrap was soft and warm. Bonus points for using banana leaves instead of plastic.

2 falafel wraps for 65 pesos on Wednesday. Really delicious, the most autentic falafel I've eaten after travel to Israel. But every drinks are for 40 pesos, that's rather expensive

Delicious humus, the best i ever had and tasty falafel. Salad ist great as well ask for only oil/vinegar dressing! The vegan dishes are mentioned in the menu! But the „vegan“ empanadas are with mozzarella cheese luckily he told me before i ordered! Tell them again that you eat vegan! Unfortunately they dont have planted based milk for coffee but maybe this is different in high season!

Ate here yesterday with some friends. Really good falafel and humous! I definitely recommend visiting here. I had the falafel wrap for 55 pesos and a limonada for 40 pesos. The salads looked great also.

We tried to visit both El Sultan locations over two different days/times, and neither was open. We assumed they must have closed down, or that they were on holiday break. It was quite the treat when we found the location near Zicatela Beach open one afternoon! The falafel wrap is amazing. Totally worth the wait!

We visited this place a couple of times while in Puerto Escondido and loved it each time. Vegans can get gazpacho or a plate with falafel and hummus which also comes with pita bread. Otherwise options are fairly limited as the other falafel stuff has cheese (although I guess you could ask for something sin queso - I just stuck with the above options cause they were so good!) They also have lovely fresh juices. They serve breakfast but that didn't seem to be very veg-friendly. You can also get hummus (best I've had in Mexico) and pita bread to take away - great for a picnic lunch on the beach! Everything is very reasonably priced. There are two locations but the Happy Cow map is wrong for both - just get the correct addresses from Google. Staff were nice too.

Read moreThey have two locations in Puerto, the one along the Zicatela strip (Calle De Morro) has unpredictable opening hours so your best bet is to head up to the Rinconada location if you really want some falafel.
